- Today we give the incredible Merelanella sp. Tricolours Isopod enclosure a massive much needed and deserved upgrade. Still a fully bioactive nature inspired vivarium however less nature inspired by the tundra when i live and more like their home range. The tropical moist forests of Vietnam.
I hope you'll join me.

At first, there was a feeling that nothing would come of it, but the work of a professional showed us that this would make an excellent vivarium.
Who is this professional you speak of perhaps I could meet them
One day
That looks phenomenal. This is such an amazing hobby. I'd love to have multiple tanks one day.
You can do it! Lol thanks for watching

I should just stop lol… it’s so painful trying to get a basic rhythm. So many channels are nice an organized… then there’s mine. Regardless I’m truly honoured to have you my friend
Wow that looks great. Wish I could talk to the camera like that.
You can do it!
Beautiful, plz make more isopod videos ! I love them
I definitely shall however I’ve split this channel into three channels.
This one will go back to being primarily fish sciences whereas all the critters, reptiles, isopods, plants etc… will be on one of the new channels.

Great job, it is nice to see a ecosystem evolve.
You are becoming a master of “perfection through approximation,”
Jim
Lol you slay me Jim
Great looking enclosure for fantastic isopods. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you kindly for watching Barb
This is fantastic. Someday, I'll have one, too …
Still such a fantastic species
@@themadaquarist Indeed!
@@themadaquarist I'm curious. Have you heard about the Cubaris sp. "Thailand spiky"? They look like you crossed Rubber Duckies with a Hedgehog …
@@SpecialSP yes I have, smaller species, high moisture and slower to replicate. Priced very high still
@@themadaquarist I saw a video yesterday from someone in Japan. He only has 4 videos & it was only them. I spent quite a while trying to find out about them. I NEED my own place !
AND lots more money …
That's Awesome 😍🤯‼️
Thank you
Very nice and similar to mine. I think they should be nice to look at as qwll as functional 😊
Love the transformation, looks great!
Thanks so much Trena
@@themadaquarist You are a brave man working in that enclosure with those super expensive isopods in it. Looks great!
They are probably escaping up at the top of the background. Use some silicone to create a bead that seals against the lid when it’s clipped on
Looks great
The background covers all the exit points
what an amazing setup !
That’s very kind of you, thank you
Thanks!
That is truly kind, thank you
Make sure to subscribe to the new secondary channel for all future isopod etc…content.

Great job looks beautiful, do you know if sycamore branches are ok to use with isopods and reptiles? I haven’t been able to find much info on it.
They are highly toxic and great affect musculature on livestock but for detritivore I couldn’t say. Imo I would say that animals would have evolved in areas with toxic things adapt and know what is ok and what is not.
Hi Chris! Is the top screen on their tank totally exposed or covered? I hear they need a lot of ventilation but also high moisture. What is your take on that? Looking to get some as soon as I find someone that sells 😉😂
Yes high humidity and high ventilation.
My top is wide open and at least once a well I spray it down.
I feel they would do better if I were to close off some of the screen lid to retain more humidity.
I had a real crash a year or so ago when I was away for more than a week and the individual that was watching over the critters forgot to mist their enclosure.
The result is incredible. This is a vivarium that show really nice. What's the size of this terrarium ? I just wonder if you will need to water more often with the new stuff inside
It’s an exoterra 24” x 18” x 12” tall, I’m going to put some acrylic panels
On half of the screen top to retain more humidity. So far no real change in maintenance (3 weeks).
Thanks so much for watching and your nice words.
awesome isopods
Thank you 🙏
That looks very nice. I'm sure they'll appreciate the improvements
Such amazing creatures deserved better
Will they keep reproducing or do you need to keep topping up with more from different breeders?
As long as resources and environmental constraints are met they are very successful
@@themadaquaristdo you wet the entire setup? Is there a moisture gradient? Lots of people seem to have zero success with these. Is it really that hard?
Proud to be a member of the horde 👍👍👍
The Hoard loves having you around!
Canada wooooooooooooooo
thanks dude
They seem to really be..Lichen it
Lol
Nice vid!
thank you 🙏
