- Introducing our fourth iteration of the Smith & Wesson Spec Series and the first from the Performance Center. Born from evolutions in the professional space, this pistol is designed from the ground up to be flat and fast-shooting.
This year's Spec Series pistol is built on the M&P®9 Metal chassis and features a green Cerakote®, 4.8" threaded barrel with attached Faxon® designed compensator, two 17-round and two 23-round magazines, and optics-cut slide with aggressive serrations and lightening cuts.

When they know gun buyers have a tight wallet, they are competing with other companies to make a better gun and trying to temp us to make that purchase. Im happy to see American companies make solid product.

Just put an apex trigger in it. Will get you as close as a 1911 trigger that you can get in a striker fired gun

They need to make mags that fit all the same caliber guns. Instead of getting different mags for every gun I buy. I like their products.

Ive been wanting a competitor since it came out but now im going to buy this one instead!
Fine and dandy. Id be more impressed if S&W would support parts and mags for the old gen 3 DA/SA pistols they sold me in the 90's.
Smith should have installed suppressor height sights on the original metal. It is optics ready.
Considering how much those things it comes with like two 23rd mags, comp and knife thats a package deal. If there were a red dot that would have been gold
The regular 2.0's should come with those serrations instead of the weird wavy ones.

Of course right after I buy the regular metal 4.25. I knew this would happen after I had waited for awhile to see for another versions. Grrrrr

LOVE LOVE mine just wanted to let yall know. I put a 507 comp-gr on it and a TLR 1. Rocking the compensator it comes with still until I get the can. I also bought a shield plus (optics ready) to replace my gen 1 shield from 2017 and I love it so much too. I have become such a fanboy its kinda wild as I wasn't expecting to. For anyone reading this, just know that this spec series metal is the best trigger S&W have ever put out on a SA gun.

Mine has a wiggle with the front grip panel. Is it removable like the backstrap? Is it supposed to be loose?

Anyone know of a good holster for this firearm? Most the holster manufacturers make holsters for the M&P M2.0 4.25 but I have not found one that can accommodate the compensator. A few of the holster manufacturers specifically say their holsters are not compatible with the C.O.R.E series. Anyone that can point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.
And the taller sights! They need to fit too!

Looks great but won’t be a huge seller, they should have come out the gate with a MSRP of $799. to hit the ground running. It’s a nice gun to add to the collection at the right price!

You know I understand modern performance technology makes the 9mm better than the older rounds however I would really appreciate them making these newer pistols in other calibers like .40s&w even though people feel like it's not needed anymore I call bs because modern performance technology has been added to .40s&w and 10mm among countless other rounds to top that I like. 40s&w for barrier performance 9mm is not going to change the law of physics

If you are poor why would you be looking for a comped out performance gun? MSRP $999 For what you get isn't half bad considering a decent comp can roll for $200+. But just get a Canik SFX Rival. Though it's a ported slide not a comp threaded on it.
Really cool, but I wish more companies would figure out non threaded barrel comps like Radian’s afterburner. Makes it easier to get to states which ban threaded barrels (CA cough cough)

If you want a comp or a supressor (aside from like a QD supressor on a warcomp) you have to pin and weld it on the barrel which makes cleaning it so funnnnn.

Guys, you should stop picking on the 9mm. With recent bullet advancements it's basically as powerful as the 357 mag. Anymore it is always a one stop shot. Just look at the thousands and thousands of LE videos out there.....

That’s why it has a comp and 23 round. Flatter gun = more shots on target= less missing = no stray bullets. Not everyone can handle a .40. In a stressful situation, you don’t want a random .40 not hitting its target.

That would interfere with the industry wide push towards nine millimeter. You see, it's not what is best for us as consumers. It is what is cheapest to make as a manufacturer with highest profitability..
So accepting the minimal standard is what we're all supposed to fall in line and do.

I hear you and I'm not a 9mm lover but your comment that "no one wants a new gun in 9mm" doesn't bear itself out. It has become the best selling pistol caliber in the America because people are buying it. Look for other calibers soon.
9 mm is the best selling firearm because they are funneling everybody towards it. And that is all that they sell....
The military/government runs on 9mm. The world is at war and that’s the ammo/guns being produced. Smith, Sig, and everyone else is on the same page. Anyone that’s prepared has 9mm and 5.56 gear for when the time calls 🇺🇸 OD green isn’t to blend in at Walmart.
