Excellent review. I have driven both XUV700 and cherry. even though cherry has more features and cost is higher than XUV , cherry tiggo drives very badly. Suspension is really bad with floaty suspension and too much road noise and that lane assist is very scary. XUV definitely wins

Although I haven't driven the Chery, bought the XUV700 last year. The lane keep assist is pretty well calibrated and never turned it off. The Chery requires 95 RON or higher vs Mahindra's 91.

Things like keeping air conditioning controls as buttons and dials in my opinion is not old and dated as some my see it , it is the safest place to have them, integrating them into a screen its like putting square wheels on a car it just doesn't work.
Have you driven both Mahindra and cherry ? I have driven both myself and what he says is completely true . Cherry has very good features but ride stability is very bad on Victoria urban highways. Mahindra is way more stable and comfortable to drive. Anyway I finally bought kodiaq but my second choice was Mahindra

I haven’t heard reviews these days ever talk about how thick is the metal of cars to me that’s as important as other things ( the thicker the less chance of bending or lates long for rust to turn up )
When it’s come to reliability XUV700 wins and Mahindra is know for reliability for last 5 decades in India. They are pretty much into tractor manufacturing, hence they always be committed to reliability than any other aspect They Easily run half a million KmS like a Japanese Toyota’s.

Serious integrity issue flashing red 🚨 IMO. CarExpert Paul Maric reviewed the Mahindra last year and recorded a woeful 11 Litres per 100 km for fuel economy. This promo video says 8 Litres. 😂
As an Australian customer, I have driven both cherry and Mahindra. Cherry is very poor in ride and handling even though it has more features. Mahindra has less features but price + ride and handling is 10 times better than cherry

ANCAP scores the Tiggo 8 Pro Max quite highly for crash protection, but in the real world some of its safety systems are a bit irritating, and wouldn't let a learner driver be in full control (to actually learn). The Mahindra drives well and seems like its safety systems are less intrusive, but it hasn't been tested by ANCAP so it's hard to say how it would hold up in an accident. Both cars are quite big, though, and might not be the best start for someone learning. -Chris

Engines are in house developed and manufactured, Aisin auto transmission, they use Visteon for infotainment and instrument cluster and Koni fsd dampers. Sure some of them are manufactured in China but not all key components.
