    Thanks for a great reacting video! Warms my heart when you detects these small details and symbolisms we wrote in the script. So far, It´s only you and another reacting guy (@Fuchswinter) that understood and mentioned the wine / blood symbolism in your reacting videos. Hopefully the scene is not to far-fetched for the rest of the viewers... Keep up your great work! :)

It is an absolute joy to watch and listen to anything Sabaton so far. So... YOU keep up your great work. I would love for you to mention this to the people you work with.

      Might be wrong here, but I thought it was a symbol of the "blood bath of Stockholm". Then the Danish king Kristian 2(called "Kristian the great" in Denmark, "Kristian the tyrant" in Sweden) had kind of like a red wedding and killed all the nobles of Stockholm. That's more or les how the story of Gustav Vasa started. when he turned to Dalarna for help to retaking Stockholm from the enemy and takes the throne of Sweden.

      Får jag lov att fråga, och jag önskar även svar på frågan, varför bär de knappar i silver och inte guld i uniformsrockarna? Även kvadraten med diagonal på någons koppel förbryllar mig. Vänligen förklara.

      As for the movements of the regiment on the map, what sprung to my mind was that the close ups of the regimental formations (helpfully denoted in yellow) seemed to be done three times during the course of the music video. I might be wrong in that, but it seems to me that each time it was done, it was symbolic of each of the battles that were denoted in the song. And the wine/blood symbolism could point to what happened at the Battle of Narva.
      Its more than likely pure speculation on my part, but I couldn't help but notice those tiny details.

      @@Utahpanzer Don't mind the comments, it's fine. It's just Europeans have a really hard time understanding this whole American thing of calling yourself [insert nationality] because to us you're just Americans, or from the US. We tend to forget it's a young nation and that we would probably behave the same way if we were a country of immigrants of multiple nationalities. It's just fun you've taken an interest in our nation. Try to trace your ancestors if you've got the time, could be fun!

    • @Utahpanzer
      @Utahpanzer 3 года назад +3

      @@reindeerman214 Yeah, the concept of nationality in America can get weird because it's still a pretty young country. I was also raised in a religion that puts a huge emphasis on genealogy, which means I feel an even larger connection to the countries where my ancestors came from. I'm also super lucky to have parents who are really into family history and who have done a lot of work on our Swedish ancestry. We seem to have two primary lines, one from Skåne and the other from Östergötland, and at least one of my ancestors was a Grenadier in the Swedish Army during the Napoleonic Era. So while I'm not aware of any direct connections between my lineage and the Livgardet, this song makes me think of what my parents have pieced together of my 5th Great-Grandfather's story.

    • @reindeerman214
      @reindeerman214 3 года назад +1

      @@Utahpanzer Ah that's cool:). I'm from Skåne myself so feel free to ask if there's anything on your mind. I know my dad and some distant relative has done a lot of work on our family history as well but I never really took too much of an an interest in it or checked it out haha. Are you mormons? That's like the only religion I know where genealogy is important🤔.
      Fun fact btw, I've got two friends who are brothers and last year they got a letter from somebody who had made genealogical research about Gustav Vasa. Turned out Vasa humped a maid or something so these two are apparently in a direct descending line (not sure if that's the correct English expression but you get it) and ofc they will never shut up about it.

    Thanks for your reaction, always great to watch your videos, maybe specially for us in the Northic countries. As a Swede, and as a former servant as sergeant in the Svea Livgardets Dragoner in the cavalery regiment of K 1 in Stockholm , it's a great, great pleasure and hounor to listen to this song from my favorite band Sabaton.
    If it makes me proud? You bet I does and I love Sabaton for their efforts with this song (as well as with all their other songs).
    About the wine (blood) spilled on the map. It's spilled over the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Finland so I would guess it's a reference to the Finnish war 1808-1809 when Sweden lost Finland (1/3 of its territory of that time) to Russia. Finland then became an autonomous region of the Russian Empire, but later emancipated them self to their own country. The message and symbols in this video to me tells me that the soldiers comes from the battle of Finland, their is fights within the group how the battle was fought (some of them were angry the swedes gave up on their brothers in Finland to easy), then they accept the facts (rolling up the map) and begin with the eating and drinking that makes them old friends again, i.e. Livgardet består (= The Royal Guard remains) in spite of the loss, now it's time to look forward and move on, whereafter the guys are rising from the table. There the video stops, with them moving on.
    Cheers from Sweden and MickeP :-)

    Irrespective of who wears the crown,
    they swear fidelity to the king
    in a time of peace they persist.

    Even as dane I feel how great a tribute this song must be, and what kind of pride the Swedish livgarde must feel when they hear this song.
    Just a info for those non-danes/swedes. The chorus about "Lund" & "Belts", are famous battles against the Denmark.
    The Battle of Lund in 1976 (in mordern day Sweden, but at the time in Denmark). Were one of the Bloodiest battles in Nothern History, and if you take in consideration that Denmark & Sweden hold the "record" of having most wars with each others (England - France are second) it does say something.
    The battle ended with Denmark retreated to Landskrona, but Sweden could not take advantage because of the heavy losses.
    The Belts part was when Sweden marched over the frozen water in Denmark and took the danes by surprise and lay a Siege upon Copenhagen and when truce was made, Denmark had lost a lot of its land to Sweden (most of it is still a part of modern day Sweden).

    LOL I gotta be that guy: while Sabaton always churns out bangers, sometimes their music videos are incredibly lackluster. This is one of them. It's just showing the Livgardet having a spat, followed by a lovely dinner. Seven Pillars of Wisdom just shows some chubby old guy cosplaying as T.E. Lawrence chatting up the natives for an evening around the fire.
    Meanwhile you get badass lyric videos like Attack of the Dead Men or The Red Baron, or straight up badass videos like Bismarck and Screaming Eagles.
    There. My only real critique of Sabaton. It's not much. And the song is so damn good it kinda doesn't matter.

    GARD is pronounced like guard, but with a hard R & D (No sexjokes please).
    and finally, ET is like the word "met" but without the M.
    Now say that all as 1 word and practice until it flows out of your mouth like a summer breeze, and after that you will be able to pronounce a word you most likely will never use again.
