How amazing would a remastered version of Wirehead be on the Nintendo Switch! Full Motion Video on the go! Wirehead was one of the most interactive F.M.V.'s
And then Ned Hubbard assumed a new identity -- under the name "Wally". All was peaceful and well until Dennis Reynolds and Ronald MacDonald moved next door.
My issue with this game is you literally have to use trial and error and your memorize the correct sequence because there is no FREAKING clue as to what is the right way and many times the most obviously wrong direction ends up being correct...even that chick telling you where to drive is blatantly just telling you the WRONG way to go. Other games have clues, flashes, dialogue etc. This game? Nope.
bit of a shame a better-looking version of this game never happened, because how many FMV games have you wrestling a bear by proxy right after a raft-parachute ride out of an airplane
EGM in issue 74 said "It's fun if you like FMV games, but the acting is laughable." LOL, good old EGM never knew how to give a bad review because it would lose ad money.
+Nelly Frenshaw I dunno. They kinda pooped on Final Fantasy II for the SNES. I remember they let their sports gaming guy review it. What? Very average reviews on what has become a classic JRPG, with some of the best music on the system. The 'all good' reviews must have come later on.
You can, thankfully, emulate this game as it's one of the last releases for the system and is difficult to find as it never came to be in Europe (only in North America).
thanks, sadly the 32X upgrade was canceled, this would have looked great! also kinda interesting that this never got re-released afaik, maybe a licensing problem because it was more like a real movie.
Im surprised they don't make more interactive games like this. I never played this, Im not sure what happens when you click the wrong direction or don't know what to do
At 3:19 - Just hit the trash cans. Hit up and then he would've landed in a jeep Hot girl in Jeep: WHOA! Ned: KEEP DRIVING PLEASE! THEY'RE TRYING TO KILL ME! Hot girl in Jeep: Where ya going?! Ned: I don't know. Hot girl in Jeep: Hang on!
I thouht it was cool cause you could go different ways and it was full screen on sega cd I had it back when it was new sure wish it would have made it to 32x
@Adam Demeter Wirehead 2: Return of Heels (2021) is literally a sequel to the original Wirehead which Heels, a deadly seductress from the FMV Sega CD game, becomes caught in the line of duty between the FBI and some college student while her precious brain is implanted with a wireless device MGM currently owns the rights to the original game which they acquired from Sega All they need to do is literally to find another publisher (Activision, Konami, Electronic Arts, etc) and developer (Sumo Digital, SyFy Games, Radical Entertainment, etc)
@@brandonreina791 Well if Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties can get rescued and get a physical re-release on Switch, PS4, PC, & PS5, maybe someone will get the rights from MGM to this?
Well, MGM, just like Disney, 20th Century Fox and Warner Brothers, they had a division that solely focused on Video games. Though, Fox and MGM's were short lived.
@TheSweetKnight Then you should find a bundle deal, Sega CD's are much cheaper with a genesis "go figure" i got mine for 50 bucks with a model 1 genesis, but for a Sega CD by itself, it can range from 50 to 99, the Sega CD was very expensive back then and because of that they are some what rare, if you have a friend who is a wiz with tech, then you could gamble 12 bucks and see if you can fix one but i wouldn't, anyways the Sega CD is definitely worth buying , good luck biding :D
Really? I played some of the new Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 6.. it's not FMV, its real time graphics, but the gameplay is a lot similar. An icon appears on screen, you press the button corresponding to the icon, repeat infinitely. Quick Time Events is the new FMV game. But back at the 90s everyone knew this sucked, and now it's seen as a reasonable gameplay device. WTF.
I hated these Sega CD games and I still do. Of course i didn't have this one had double switch but still hated it. It's a shit grainy movie the shitty days lmao.
Probably my favorite FMV game, so much fun to play with a friend and take turns
As corny as this is, this does seem to be a pretty effective use of the "Interactive Movie" concept. More so than many of these sorts of games.
How amazing would a remastered version of Wirehead be on the Nintendo Switch! Full Motion Video on the go! Wirehead was one of the most interactive F.M.V.'s
This looks really cool! Great story and acting, and more interactive then most FMV games I've seen.
It's definitely one of the better FMV games that came out during that era.
@dave4shmups This game was actually designed not just for the Sega CD, but as a interactive movie experience for theaters.
wow
Now I'm just intrigued what would happen when the theater chose one of the "death" wrong options, oops, Ned didn't take the skateboard, movie's over?
How would a whole theater control it😅😅
I love shlock like this. almost forgot I was watching a sega cd game.
And then Ned Hubbard assumed a new identity -- under the name "Wally". All was peaceful and well until Dennis Reynolds and Ronald MacDonald moved next door.
The weather frying his circuits? No wonder it's always a hot one in his eyes.

we need a remaster of it
The video quality is actually very good in this FMV.
I CAN'T JUMP OUT OF A PLANE!
"Mr. Hubbard... Mr. Ned Hubbard, please come to the front of the plane to accept your Oscar award!"
Lol!
***** He needs a Razzie award. I'm not sure which category, though.
No.

games like this are like Rosemary's Baby.....the creature is hideous, but you just can't turn your head away from it.
Wow I've never sen cinematic like game before. Thanks for the longplay.
I need this game in my life
if it were The A-Team, Hannibal and B.A. would tie those two agents up and B.A. would beat them to within an inch of their lives.
this looks like an actual mgm movie in theatres. no wonder mgm was involved. :)
Am I the only one amused that the keys are in every vehicle that Ned takes?
The GTA of its time
Dang. Never got a Chance to play this.😊

came here from the sega forever post
is this like dragon’s lair or something

Hilarity ensues 😅

Love this game :D
this looks and feels like it be a very good game and it does look like it! :D I want a Sega CD :(
At 3:19 - Just hit the trash cans. Hit up and then he would've landed in a jeep

Thanks. I was wondering where this scene was in the game. I tried it out and she takes him to the airport, saying, "That was fun!".
Ned Hubbard was in the Blind Date Fart commercial! haha
I love action games.
Me too 😊
I thouht it was cool cause you could go different ways and it was full screen on sega cd I had it back when it was new sure wish it would have made it to 32x
What ever these kinds of games are grate u don't see games like these aney more.
Late night with Cry and Russ!
8:00 the bear is just a zombieman from Doom wearing a bear costume.
The sound editors loved taking sounds from Sound Ideas, just like Robert "Bobby" Prince.
Made this a Rick Moranis vehicle.
i think that wirehead could be the next Pokemon ever
4:32 - oh, the world before 9/11...
I wish they would bring this to ps4 on limited run games like they did night trap and double switch I shouldn't have sold my Sega cd
I thought that this was movie-based game (due to the MGM logo at the beginning).
@Adam Demeter
Email them to release Wirehead 2: Return of Heels for the Nintendo Switch, PS4 and XBOX One (Microsoft)

I hate games which require you where to go
They don't make them anymore because they're fucking horrendous to play.
Something about...fragments or something?
heels - bond villain
My mom never understand this game
15:43 Octopus Hussein Slitcon?!?
Nah, pretty sure that was Die Hard Arcade which is by the same developer.
Or you could use a emulator and play it on your pc for free?
Is this Blue-Ray !?!?
I have a soft spot for full-motion video (FMV) games but Wirehead represents the worst the genre has to offer.
Maybe they rushed it or they were trying out different color pixels .
?
thats cool
20:19 win

C'mon dude. It's a 76-81 Chevrolet Camaro!
