00:00 PN Junction diode is a semiconductor diode with two metallic contacts. 01:32 PN Junction diode symbol and forward bias condition 03:04 Understanding Diode Current and Voltage Relation 04:43 Current and voltage relation for diode 07:07 Calculating diode current using modified formula 09:00 Calculate reverse saturation current of a germanium diode 10:34 Calculating reverse saturation current of a germanium diode 12:23 Reverse saturation current is 0.667 microampere
Can't we say that the current is, generally, equal to ID = Im - Is and in case of reverse bias, being Im near equal to zero, then ID = -Is giving us the current direction too?
Reverse saturated current is temperature dependent. So no matter what bias you apply a feeble amount of current (opposite direction to FB current, & same direction as RB current) will be there.
Hello sir, small doubt. If diode is open circuit when reverse bias voltage is applied to it. Then what exactly is reverse saturation current because when it is open circuit the current should not flow right.
That is for the ideal case.....in ideal case no current should flow......but irl a small amount of current flows in reverse bias condition before reaching the breakdown point
doesn't the expression for Vt here , contradicts the expression for Vt in lect 10 (barrier potential) there it was Vt= (KT)/q and here it is rep as Vt=(T) / Kn, how?

The consant "k" in the equation k=11600 by eta is not Boltzmann constant. k=q/K........capital K is actually the Boltzmann constant
Yes thanks
Thanks bhai for clearing my doubt.
These lecture is very good and help me a lot and also saving my degree
Watching from Australia..
Awesome..
Speedrunning whole playlist the night before exam at 2x speed >>>>
you are awesome sir.
I m following your playlist completely and I'm watch videos with 1.75* speed 🙄😂😂
Me with 1.25 speed 😅
why i don't apply this earlier? f**k it's so effecient
Me. 2x..😂😂
My exam has done 😁😁😁
Me watching it in 2x 🤣🤣

Thank you very much sir🥳🥳🥳🥳
You are awesome sir☺
Thanks 😊
very good lecture luv u sir
please provide us more notes on analog electronics chps oscillators ic 555 timer etc
7:29 What did you mean Id = low or high?
When is it low & high?
thanks anyway
thanks for this sir, do you have a video for THYRISTOR as well?
The kn = 11600 part makes absolutely no sense to me.
Sir, shouldn't we take all the units as same an then do it?
Respectfully, please explain why or where does the minus 1 comes from in the formula for current through the diode ? thanks
when vd =0 the exp term becomes zero ,then the only current is saturation current (Is*1)
Sir,how can there be reverse saturation current in forward bias?
Reverse saturated current is temperature dependent. So no matter what bias you apply a feeble amount of current (opposite direction to FB current, & same direction as RB current) will be there.
Sir in this question germanium ka to Vb hi 0.3 v hota hai aur hum 0.25 V de rahe hain to current to flow hi nhi hona chahiye
Sir reverse saturation current and drift current will be same ??
nhi diya sir ne ans?
sir why didn't you converted milliampere into ampere in question of reverse saturation.
diode current is 10mA here, but you took it as 10 A
He took as 10ma only at last he took answer also in ma
Good day sir. Your current direction is same as the hole current?
Saturation current is nothing but drift current right?
Thank you sir
Don't we have to convert the mA to A?
yes
It also depends on the question I think so
If you put the value of ID in mA you will get the value of IS in mA,same goes to using Ampere unit.
why get 10A instead of 10mA diode current ?
Nice
Thanks Sir!!!!

K =11600/n , here K is normal constant not Voltsman constant (k).
What is Vt here..u could not mention here..give some clairty
Where do you guys study this?
this book goes into detail of all electronics with not hard English and diodes that he explained. The book is called "Electronics a system approach "
PLS GIVE LINK TO GET SCIENTIFIC CALCI FROM NET
Notice that it's not specified if he's using conventional flow or electron flow
Sir English subtitles kyun rakhe h inhe hata dijiye its so irritating
sir semiconductor 20 rupe ka mil jayega sir ?
Sir can we use two semiconductor instead of a diode
wt abt -1 in diode equation
please correct the ans in last, you have taken mili ampere two times.
Vt ka mtlb???
Thermal Voltage. Also called "Voltage equivalent of temperature".
Thanku sir
2x speed and still seems normal
Hw many of u r watching before exams😂😂😂
kal hi exam hai🙃
is saturation current and drift current same?
The drift current which comes from the minority carriers is called reverse saturation current
👋👋👋👋
Sr please make videos in Hindi
Watching at 2x
