- My thesis film is finally here! It's about a nervous girl encountering a strange spirit at the train station. She was invited to try on a roller coaster. Hope you like it! X3
This film took almost seven months to make on my own. The sounds and music combined are also a giant project that's wonderfully done by my composer Peter Zongting Li. You can find more of his work here: www.peterlisound.com/
I've always wanted to make a film about roller coasters. To me, they represent the energy of life and the pursuit of otherworldly adventure. Those metal giants, forged by mankind, are created purely for joy. As my exploration of the literal "Roller Coaster" unfold, it got connected to a mental one, that is the drastically changing stress, fear, and anxiety we're going through in life. I hope this film can help you to find the courage to embrace and enjoy all life's challenges. As life is a roller coaster, and instead of fearing it, let's have some fun!
The line "There is no fun - when you're being dragged along" weirdly resonated with me a lot. I don't think i ever realised how strong the connection between anxiety and that feeling like you "have" to do something really is - got me inspired to drive my own force more! This is amazing! “Me”’s walk, the magical scenery, the creative idea, and of course, the fluidity of the dragon’s emergence and transformation into the coaster is insane. I think you really excel at rapid, engaging motion

OMG that whole dragon scene was so EPIC like how some scenes were animated in POV that makes it seem like your are on the rollercoaster yourself!! Jaw on the floorrr
The red character reminds me of Mebh from wolfwalkers! The gremlin-y scurrying was very satisfying. XD

Wow, this is amazing! First of all fun concept, awesome character designs. And wow beautiful eyes! The dragon roller coaster is so much fun, and beautifully animated. The dragon eye close up was just AAAAA and the animation of going through the different kinds worlds through the dragon was beautiful and so much fun! Definitely gave me Spirited Away vibes, but it was still it's own thing. Absolutely fantastic work, I can't imagine the blood sweat and tears that went into this haha.
WOW THE ANIMATION IS JUST OUTSTANDING AND THEN ALL THE ANGLES AND SPEED DRAGON AND- UGH EVERYTHING IS SO COOL!!

Idk if you have watched studio ghibli films like spirited away but your animation style reminded me of it. you are so skilled and this is wonderfully crafted. I absolutely loved the concept and the execution of it.

That was incredible! Please tell Peter that his composition was amazing. Paired with your animation, the dragon scene especially made me feel like I was playing a Sonic the Hedgehog game for the very first time again. It gave me the same 'wow' factor that jumping out of the helicopter at the beginning of SA2 did, if you've ever played. Every time I thought the scene was over it just kept twisting and turning and getting better. All hype, all speed, all awesome!!

This reminds me of my experience flying off to Israel earlier this year, I went for a semester of Bible college, I was so anxious on the flight there that I didn't sleep in those 15 hours despite taking off at night. Towards the end of the fight I was actually able to get a little excited, at the end of my stay there I had built up enough energy to be excited about the culture and people I met. My stay was unfortunately cut short because the administrator after an in depth conversation with my parents decided they weren't equipped to handle me because they didn't really understand autism (what's an area that I'm jumping over hurdles while they're running and not immaturity,) and that semester group wasn't too understanding either. I had built up enough drive in and of myself for the trip that I was willing to put up with slightly abusive or toxic, depending on how you define it, ignorance to complete the semester.
Sometimes it's better to revel in that you don't know where life is going then sit there anxious that it's gonna go downhill. Also trying to find the fun in the mandane and first glance boring stuff, when it's not the time to be serious such a skill will let you enjoy life.

OMG, that was like the best animation I have ever seen! First of all, the character design and the backgrounds and everything are drawn absolutely beautifully but also the motion of the camera for example in the scene with the dragon is really mindblowing. I was just really blown away when I saw this and had to leave a comment because it is just such an amazing work!!

Ahhh the message I got from this story is so heartwarming! It's fun to make rollercoasters in our mind, but the rollercoaster of life is just as exciting and exhilirating, and we shouldn't forget that :,)

Loved the emotions.
Loved the expressions, very well done, were all able to convey the strongness and intensity of emotions (I guess the body language helped too, even thought I kinda didnt focused on it during my first watch) and the music were really fitting. Also, good way to play with bright/dark and warm/cold colors, conveys in a really good way those feelings 👍🏻
As I aint a graphic artist, I sadly can't say much/realize much about the artstyle and the animation pathing quality etc... but everything else was so hella great, simple yet complex, doesn't need that much of explanation to be understood, just a really good job 👍🏻👍🏻

I was on a bus once, headed home. It was just your typical bus, full of typically tired people. And then this kid yells, "Look, Mom! A RAAAIIINBOOOWWW!!!"
And sure enough, there was a rainbow arching through the clouds.
In one Gospel passage Jesus says, "If you do not become as a little child, you cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven." I think this is part of what He meant -- that you must never lose that shining sense of wonder with which you first saw this world as a child. Lose that, and Heaven is lost to you as well.
i have no idea whats going on, but i like the design for the spirit so i'm good.

少し思ったのは背景が本キャラ･デザインと不釣り合いなぐらい「リアル」な方が良かったかも、です。
本アニメで「ジェットコースター龍」の「瞳」でやっていた様に、です。
