It's so much more comfortable to hold but it doesn't have rumble. I know a lot of people who don't really care about the rumble feature but I live for it. It adds such an immersive quality to games

I get it's a meme but technically you should be able to potentially make a dock for a lite. They're only missing a component for converting the signal, so assumedly you could place that component in the "lite dock"

But seriously, for as little as the video out component prob costs I'm surprised they didn't include it anyway just to allow the choice as it adds a lot of value for little. Maybe it's economically motivated on another layer as in they were worried it would cannibalize standard Switch sales and so they arbitraily left it out to create some upsell?
Nothing happens. The Lite model physically can’t fit into a dock because its screen isn’t wide enough so the buttons on the side hit the top/sides of the dock. Kind of dumb because it would be nice to at least dock a Lite model to be able to charge it that way.
That wouldn’t work software side. There is no chip inside the board that allows the switch lite to dock, no amount of software/modding will fix a hardware issue.

I know they did it to save on costs and all the other stuff, but it wouldve been nice to keep the programming in the Lite for docking in case anyone would like to be able to still play on the TV

Even tho there will be a ps6 sometime next year from what I read off of several articles, the switch still being as strong as the 5 or series X makes it all that much more worth it. For those of you that are confused, the switch light has a completely different board layout plus it does have a display controller (small chip that controls display connections) but thats not it, u cant just add a xhip cause theres not spot for it. Also, its locked in the actual software snd the USBC port is not display port. Its only USB C charging only, and since DP USBC jas more pins then the regular USBC theres no way to swap it iut

My switch lite works on a dock. I tried it the other day on a boat dock and it plays games like a champ! I even walked off the boat dock and walked back on. And yup! Still works 😁

if you want to actually know what happens it just gives you the no signal error because it’s almost impossible to dock a light because it’s made for handheld gaming only
