@@ssvinyaYes, the only difference is that instead of a rope to blow the whistle they used a device that you could not "quill" it or "play" with it, like a horn
@@Henriqueleal0609 The NYC 6 chime was only used on the Pacifics and L-4 Mohawks. The Niagaras used a Hancock 3 chime, and the Hudsons used the Nathan. All of the other NYC locomotives used the 5 chime (Mikados, L-1 through L-3 Mohawks, etc.)
The V&T has the first one we made which is a modified Nathan. They also have a Southern 3 chime made by MD Whistles. I don't know what was on the engine when it arrived at the V&T.
As guest whistles not permanent whistles cuz I like NH&I 40’s whistles she’s been given and I liked BR&W 60’s Erie 5 chime she had in… I don’t know hmmmmmm, 2014? And all her other whistles including her SP 6 chime
Wow, this whistle is amazing! That prolonged blast at 0:37 is awesome!
Good god mu favorite whistles are strasburg 90 and I.C.R.R. 382 so low and bold

What size whistle valve is this, Chris?
+David Heah That is a 1.5" valve.
@David Heah, Sounds like a SAR 720 to me. I guess this is a 963-A-1030, is that correct David?
Patterned off mine I think....
How much do these sell for? It be nice to know now so I know how many years I need to save money!
Our standard 6 chime whistles with a cast brass bowl and fabricated steel bell are $1,075.00.
What boiler pressure is this whistle intended for?
Anywhere from 120 to 200 works well. The engine in the video is operating at 180 psi.
