I didn't think I'd be the only one crying. I didn't know about this part of Ultimate Spider-Man's lore, but it adds an interesting dynamic when he did actually die, and Jonah couldnt bring himself to go to the private service they held at May's house.
Really sad that when Peter actually died he had so much regret. He took it upon himself to try and kill Norman once he was revived and died for it too. Also when he met Miles for the first time, that was a good scene too.
"How did you know my name? Never mind that's not important right now..." Oh yes Peter, it was.
"I gotta go, kid. Thanks for your help!"
"Peter wait!"
@@michaelmccandless1280what was that from?
What issue is the one where he meets miles?
I retconned that series in my head. Absolute garbage
My most favourite version of J. Jonah Jameson is that he actually have numerous reasons why he hates Spiderman and actually thinks he's a menace, the Web head causes massive destruction in his battle against villains, he wears a mask causing JJJ to assume Spiderman is secretly part of some organized crime, and worst of all he butt heads against other superheroes... Amongst other things.
In an interesting comic storyline, we see Jameson as part of the media and news crew who covered Spiderman when Peter first made his debut in TV, back when he was trying to be an entertainer. While he admits Spiderman was amazing, he only saw him as a clown and an entertainer.
When Spiderman starts fighting crime, Jonah is shock to see, what he considers to be some clown and performer fight crime because that's not what he was originally doing. He then makes up all these wild accusations of Spiderman being some attention seeking glory hound, and is a criminal.
He just can't let go of that original perception of Spiderman. And because he values and considers, police, soldiers and other law enforcements to be actual heroes, he finds it insulting for someone like Spiderman to do heroic things even if he's actually helping the law.
Also Jameson may actually be ashamed that he himself is not a police officer or a hero like Spiderman, and that he's not only jealous that someone like Spiderman who again he considers an irresponsible clown, best suited to be an entertainer, has got all these powers, but that he himself can do nothing but sit behind a desk and write or type about what others are doing. It's actually very miserable and depressing.
pretty stupid reasons considering 99% of the time it’s the villains causing the damage
@@jaylil3614 Exactly, Jameson is so blinded by his biases that he can't even see the real criminals committing the crime. As shawnwarrynn put it he just can't let go of that original perception of Spiderman. And because he values and considers, police, soldiers and other law enforcements to be actual heroes, he finds it insulting for someone like Spiderman to do heroic things even if he's actually helping the law.
Not even his whole my girlfriend was murdered by a criminal in a mask argument is good enough to justify his hatred towards Spiderman, as well as his outright attempts to ruin Spiderman's reputation and even kill him. Heck, Jonah helped create The Scorpion and the Spider-Slayers. When he's not sabotaging and ruining Spiderman's reputation, he's out to kill him.
I see you, J. Jonah Jameson!
I mean even when JJJ has his reasons they're still incredibly lob-sided. He wants Spider-Man to take accountability when after he's done there already IS someone taking accountability behind bars _because_ of him
This is one of perfect examples of why Ultimate Spider-Man is the best story. Jameson sees Spider-Man his selfless action to save many lives that he can, while the main continuity Jameson blames Spider-Man and accusing him for the destruction he never committed despite he saw his heroic act. This is one of the best development that Marvel has ever done.
not in recent main continuity , He know spider man is pete in Comic when he personally interview him and accepted spiderman is a hero.
@@namanhnguyenhoang2695not only that, but he always has seen Pete as family so after Pete reveals his identity, it makes JJ understand who Spider-Man is as a person.

After all the shit new York goes through I guess they wanted the bugle to be as safe as possible.
If you lived in a city with many supervillain battles as that one, and you had the money and an essential job to do, wouldn't you build your building like a tank?
Considering how tight JJ was, he probably wanted the building like his bank account. Impossible to get anything out of.
@@tanepukenga1421 JJ's one virtue was that he would protect his reporters if he could. So, in a world of alien invasions and rampaging gods, he wanted his building tough enough to protect the one thing he cared about.
The building was probably in the middle of the city the building that were next to the ocean probably got rekt but since jjj building was in the middle it didn’t get hit by them full force of the tidal wave. There are videos of huge floods not being able to break windows. So it’s not surprising that JJJ is ok in the building that is almost submerged.
It breaks my heart that Peter felt such remorse upon his actual death. After his resurrection, he felt compelled to try killing Norman, an act for which he also died. The scene that he first laid eyes on Miles was equally memorable.

Life is too short to hate others with no reason. I would hope this whole thing stuck to Jameson
It probably did. Especially if he went on to discover that Spidey was Peter. Jameson pretty consistently sees Peter like a son, so to find out that Spidey was Peter the entire time and that he'd nearly lost Peter to this disaster likely would have been the biggest gut-punch Jameson could ever be given, to the point I wouldn't be surprised if he just vomited on the spot out of pure disgust with his past actions.

"WHY DID YOU MAKE ME CAUSE THE TSUNAMI, SPIDERMAN!?"
JJJ has the weirdest way possible on reacting to Spiderman when alive he says he is a menace but when he gives up or dies he sees him as a hero
To be fair, this is Ultimate Marvel, where, after Spidey saved his life, JJJ figured out Peter was Spider-Man, stopped libeling him in the paper and even started a college fund for him long before he died.
Can’t believe I cried to this…

As much as the Ultimate Universe has had some awkward interpretations of Marvel's superheroes, Ultimate Spider-Man has been one of the best things to come out of that comic line.

OMG THANK YOU ALL FOR LIKING THIS! I wasn't expecting this
Imagine if it had been Hulk who had found Spidey like that. Hulk probably would have snapped like never before and gone for Magneto's head and not stopped until he'd torn it off his shoulders with his bare hands. Spidey is one of the people that Hulk cares most about, to the point that when everyone else had forgotten Spidey because of his deal with Mephisto, Hulk remembered him, because "Hulk always remembers his friends." Hulk's heart is just as big and compassionate as Spidey's....he just has a hard time showing it because so many people fear him for who and what he is. You can be damn sure that if Hulk ever heard that Spidey was in trouble or needed help, he'd immediately be on his way to back Spidey up.
And keep in mind, Jameson has stated before that Peter is like a son to him, so not only would Spidey's "death" have hit Jameson hard here, but learning that Spidey was _Peter_ of all people would have made it that much worse for Jameson. Jameson can and will act like an asshole in most cases, but in spite of that, he does genuinely mean well....he just has a tendency to let his personal feelings cloud his judgment.

Ultimate Spider-man (before he killed him) was the one good comic Bendis did...and he still added his self insert kong
Bendis wrote a lot of good comics in the 2000s. I agree ultimate Spider-Man stands as his best work but he had done others like his avengers stuff. He was a writer that self destructed by falling into too many tropes and starting to write every character the same
I can forgive Bendis for Kong because Kong never overpowered the overall story. He was just one of the ensemble.

Nah, Peter later died and got replaced with Miles and then the Ultimate universe imploded or something and Miles got brought into 616.

Since I don't read the comics, I didn't even know about him until the Spiderverse movie.
However, I almost always prefer the first version of a hero; there is only one Iron-Man, one Captain America and one Spider-Man. They can add other characters with similar powers like Miles or Rhodes but then they should give them own names (like Rhodes calling himself War Machine)
@@Kanerudo Miles has another name in the 616 universe it’s “Kid Arachnid” but Peter always refers to Miles as Spiderman anyway. It’s kinda like how Gwen Stacy’s character is called Spidergwen by the readers and the comic title but her in universe name is Ghost Spider. The name Spiderman has kind of become like a non specific way to address the spider people since there are so many of them, like Ben and Kaine (Scarlet Spiders), Miles (Kid Arachnid), Bailey (Spider-Boy) and Peter (OG Spiderman). So to address them all they’re just called the Spidermen for convenience sake.

What if Darth Vader killed Spider Man?
Spiderman is one of those superheroes that you dont expect to have such a tragic life. He's a comic and light-hearted yet he went through so much. Anytime he has a happy moment is nice.
Its nice to see Jonah speak kinder about Spiderman and his article was really nice even if it was after Spiderman's assumed death
I'll say this and probably will be super cheesey. But I think Spider-Man is one of the more down to earth heroes, and why I feel he's the best.
He has taught me that you'll always run into people who never want to change, who hurt people and will see a lot of bad things in life.
But just from getting out of bed and putting on clothes, you're putting on your very own super suit. You're going out there to get things done. To keep others happy and safe, to make it by. To see those around you live their lives, and hell you'll never see them again.
But just like Spider-Man, you face it with a smile or you cry. Because in the end, we're all Human.
So when I read this comic and saw Spider-Man risk his skin for some random people, it helped me set my goal in life. If I can just make 1 person happy before I die, them I've lived a very good life.
God bless you Spider-Man.

One thing that last Spiderman movies didn't get about Jameson is that he may be mercenary and horrible boss, but he would out any people who work for him that might be in risk... and he also wouldn't defend a villain or a cult to make Spider-man look bad.
He would say shit about cults, any villains, and make Spider-man look bad. He's not that much of sell out, he really believes Spider-man is bad for everyone (and that, yes, is his crusade).
Powerful!
honestly that "coming back from the dead" isn't that much of an asspull
since i've seen spiders survive A LOT of crazy shit
especially debris and water based shit
the only thing i know KILLS spiders for real = FIRE (and *LOTS* of it)
Love your videos bro 🔥
"And that in the end, because of these choices, this *man-child* will now stand among our greatest heroes"
Oh come on JJ. Couldn't resist, could you?
