- I visited the Goodwill in Shillington. While I was shopping, I almost grabbed something broken and cut myself--but another shopper saved me.

I think the swan thing was a cake stand for wedding cakes?
You're correct. Big in the 80's.
Yes, it was. My mother -n- law had that set.
That's what I was gonna say, But I was going to check to mack sure no one else did. I didn't want to keep repeating. 😁 My daughter is an amateur cake maker, And I bet she would have loved that for one of her cakes.
I agree. I said the same thing when she picked it up. HaHa!
Yes for a tiered wedding cake! I used to make cakes using those😉
Yes, the plastic swan pkg is for tiered wedding cakes, most likely made by Wilton
Thats exactly what I was thinking !
My guess too
100 % From the 80s!
These kits were very popular for housewives to side hustle making wedding cakes! I had one with a fountain. Easy to assemble and pretty impressive at the time!
What she said. 1980s probably.
I had one of those. It wasn’t the exact same as the one that she had. I wanted it to work, but we didn’t have all of the pieces, and we couldn’t buy a brand new one anymore or replacement pieces. So since we can’t tell if that one had all of the pieces, I am very glad that she didn’t pick it up.
“That was not the case” get it glasses CASE 😆 Made me chuckle
Nice haul...especially that gawdy goldy plasticy thing...whaaaat?
I'm expecting you to say any day now...' oops...my waters just broke, so I will quickly just finish up here...oh wow, I did not expect to see one of these on the shelf,' and grab it as you head to the checkout with warnings along the way of cleanup in the brown aisle. LOL Please take care 🤣🥰
👶
Great day, love the angel, but I wouldn't have given it a second glance.?. You really are gifted you know.
Scherenschnitte, say it with me, share-en-schnit-uh. I always wanted to learn how to do it, but I have big clunky hands. 💕
It warms my heart to see you buying older crewel and needlepoint pieces. I do some of that and new needlepoint, hopefully somebody will love my pieces eventually.
I feel you. I’ve made some beautiful pieces in needlepoint, crewel and embroidery. Mine will also probably end up at the goodwill. Except I’ve decided that when I downsize I’ll sell them instead 😏!

03:00 It takes a D cell, which puts that movement as far back as the 70s, maybe even the 60s. It also needs the securing nuts on the movement tightened, so it stops flopping around like a gaffed trout. Replacment battery movements are easily and cheaply bought at Joann or Michael's or That Other Chain Which We Do Not Mention.
03:30 I'm seeing chips on the rim, at least two.
Hobby Lobby🙏
Girl you made a great haul in this video! Very fun stuff. The Fenton egg that was hiding out is my favorite.
Just want t say thank you Jocelyn anf Andrew for all the content you put out for us daily. You guys have worked so hard for us and your family. You have earned everything you have.
I just wanted you to know how MUCH your appreciated for all the cheery , educated video's you put out means a lot to so many of us..
Thank you!!!!
That Fenton egg can sells for 40 to 50 dollars. Great find
That was a nice haul! I love your added comments that can be missed if you're not paying attention I admire you still working with a very full plate so close to your due date. Can't wait to see your new baby girl! I hope we get a short video later on tacked on to one of your usual videos as a surprise!! So many of us fans are hoping for a smooth birthing.
The Swans set is an older Wilton Cake Decorating set for Wedding Cakes.
The crewel clock is a fabulous example of the Queen Anne Embroidery design.
The plastic is a wedding cake layer.
Grab bags are my Kryptonite. Thanks for showing us the contents!! I am always curious to know what all you find, even the items you cannot sell. Blessings!
You found several nice things today. Especially love the little Finton egg.
The ceramic bunny reminds me of the one my Grandparents made in the ‘60/70’s…creepy, but I cherish her!!❤️
Those glass pieces would make great sun catchers in your windows at the new house. Tie with fishing line in like a flat mobile pattern. Good pick.
What a great shopping day. You were on a roll!! Couldn't believe you found a Fenton Egg ! I would of been jumping for joy 😊
Some great finds. The bag of glass pieces had some very nice items in it, thanks for showing them to us and for taking us along on your thrift store trip.
“thought we were gonna find some cool vintage glasses. Was not the case”
No, it was the case.
I just have to say, I'm a manager at goodwill in the bay area of California & how everything is stacked up on top of everything, they need to get that organized bad... we aren't even supposed to put anything that has been chipped or broken out to the sales floor. If you are ever in the bay area, I can garuntee that my store is well organized & also has good quality items on my shelves. Idk I just had to throw that out there...
I was thinking while you were shopping...you really know your stuff! Thanks for sharing what you do 💓
The thing with the swans is a cke stand for wedding cakes
The doll with the skinny legs was made by Lori Mitchell. They sell from 30.00 to 50.00 each. Look up her site they are adorable. I have started collecting them!!
OMG the chick plate sold for $1200!!! I've been waiting for that EXACT update. thank you for this. :)
At 12:27, not everything that color is Floragold. The last piece you found was the clover shaped dish, which was the "Doric pattern", this butter bottom was "Iris and Herringbone pattern".
OOh, I love that hummingbird feeder.
yes the swan is a 2 or 3 tier cake with columns and swans
The Italy brown and flower vase looked pretty with the clock. Hang the clock above a small table, cute little embroidered linen and the vase styled with small flowers. Cute!
Only you would grab that little bag of what you thought were buttons and get handmade glass pendants!!! Awesome job mama!!
The bunny lamp had that slightly evil leer of the Made In Japan figurines of the 50s
The swans are part of a Wedding Cake assembly kit.
Yes vintage Wilton plastic tiered cake stand with swan columns. Sells for about $35. That’s probably only if it’s complete, it would be hard to tell in the store in a plastic bag
I get excited each time I see a new video drop! Love watching/listening to you. ❤️
The angel is a Nuremberg Angel made from wax in Germany. Mine has. Bird wings & blonde hair. Back in the 1600s a man’s daughter never came home. The first Angel was made to protect & guide her home
What great finds. So fun to see what treasures you can find.
PLEASE STAY SAFE, HAPPY AND HEALTHY. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY
The bag of pillars and plates might be for a cake such as a wedding cake.
My mom has several wax angels from our stay in Germany in early 1960's!!!
I can't believe the way she tossed it in the cart like it was nothing. It made me cringe!
*OMG, now she's piling stuff on top of it! I hope that's some heavy duty wax.
@@kikak6004 I thought the same thing! Only the head and hands are actually wax.
That is a cake decorating tier kit. It is for wedding cakes with a swan theme
I'm constantly amazed at the amount of quality items you find in your thrift stores. Great finds. Rarely find anything of value in southern CA.
Enjoyed the video... have only gotten halfway thru as the work day is calling... (will definitely finish it).
Couple things: kudos for doing things like trying to find an items "mate" and reuniting them, I do this all the time when thrifting... and DON'T TELL ME... but I'm waiting to see if the errant King (or Joseph?) finds his way home!! LOL). The chipped mug near the beginning looks to be "salt glazed" a popular technique dating back centuries... and the embroidered clock was a favourite past time of mid-century (mostly 60s) housewives all over. Great character actress, RoseMarie (think Dick Van Dyke Show) even did one and I'm lucky enough to have it as she was a close friend...
Finally been waiting all day for you to post a video! I hope you are well and that little miss sunshines comes soon and smoothly :) I can’t wait to find out her pretty name!! 💕💕
Omg me too!!
The Avon Santa's were going for about $20-$138 each. I'd have grabbed them.
Wedding cake stand, it held two or three sized cakes with the swan columns separating them.
Love your taste in glass and pottery, etc. Amazed how you find treasures among rest. Also like your details about the items. Lots of patience and curiosity on your part.. How are you feeling? Getting close to new bombina.
The bag of swan serving stuff looks like wedding cake pillars & decoration.
Is it just me? If I chipped one of my own stuff and no longer wanted it, I’d just throw it in the trash. Why do people think that other people would want broken stuff and give it to Goodwill? And when Goodwill gets broken stuff, why don’t they throw it? Who would buy that headless figurine with the flower stuck in the neck.
I agree 💯 everything you said!
Sometimes you find pieces that are a little chipped up and it’s not so bad that someone wouldn’t want to buy it. Especially if it’s an expensive piece. There’s tons of pieces for sell on eBay that have chipping or are broken and someone still wants it for whatever reason. It’s saving it from going in the landfill too!
The headless figurine likely got damaged at Goodwill. It’s head was on the bottom shelf. I imagine someone tried to “fix” if with the flower. 😅
Finally another voice of reason, lol. I have said the same thing forever. I can't believe all of the broken stuff that Goodwill prices, thinking that people will actually want to buy them. And like you said, who donates all of this broken stuff?
Dia someone just commented they would buy the chipped pieces for mosaic projects. Always something to sell that someone wants 😊
Ooo! Maybe your candies are Murano. I found a stash at an antique shop a few years ago and just love them.
So happy to see your video today. Hope you had a wonderful day enjoying your bargains. Thank you.❤️
I have the carved tree thing, that I can't pronounce either, in my bedroom. I love those!
I used to work for the company that made those swan columns they are for wedding cakes.
That clock in Ontario, Canada VVillage stores would be between $9.99-$14.99 CAD before tax (so $8-12 USA). I'm hitting yard sales now bc VVillage prices are too high, there's no tax and VVillage gave the clear impression they gave back to the community, like GoodWill, but they only started to announce in the past 2 years, over the loud speaker, that they are for profit.
I found a Damariscotta mug, really pretty, 2010, today for $1.49.
Yes the swan thing is a vintage tiered wedding cake stand
Some of the glass pieces in the bag looked like lamp work. I use some bead's like this to make bracelets. They can be pricey. Your Goodwill stores best ours hand's down, for hidden gems and being stocked full.
Thank you for working so hard. Being pregnant must make you let's make you extremely tired. I appreciate your effort and good luck with the new baby!!
David's Cookies are high end gourmet. That was an awesome piece to repurpose at Christmas. for homemade cookies!
The whiteish plastic swans.pillar's etc is a cake stand. Used for wedding cakes
So happy for a video!
Our goodwill store's in Texas are not as big as the one's you shop but I still find some treasures, great treasures finds thank you for sharing your amazing videos 😍
Those are some beautiful and fun finds. Very enjoyable.
You are a ROCK STAR Jocelyn!
Dang it…been looking for a ceramic bunny light! Especially a good hobbiest piece! Ugh! Lol will have to find in the Wild!
Really nice trip! The Fenton egg ❤
I’ve found more fire and light in the bathroom section than anywhere else…the soap dishes sell well and are often overlooked
Yup, used for Wedding cakes way back when I was a kid. Cake had to make a statement .
WHAT!? Are you kidding?? Girl, You always find great stuff at the Goodwill! 🥳
My mom had a set of those Swans and pillars .She made my sister's wedding cake using similar set. Three tier cake.
It was 1971 and I was only ten.
Hi, The swans look like a wedding cake set up. You would put cake on the rounds surrounded by the swans
I have that exact cat purse too! Still love it
Those santas are worth a good money but only if they are actually in there. And yes I have brought things and check inside them
You can totally tell that you were excited while shopping, just clip after clip of you finding goodies!
That swan thing looks like decor and stands for a tiered wedding cake from many years ago..
I think Goodwill could have be a row of chipped, cracked, or things that were missing parts. 🤔 Loved your beautiful finds
😃❤🙌🙏
Hocelyn, I’m so impressed with your ability to describe the art, styles, and have conversations while shopping. Do you have extensive training in art and art history?
Thank you so much I enjoy your videos, and learn so much.
I'm drawn to syroco. I love the birds
I just bought those swans on eBay two weeks ago to recreate my grandparents wedding cake!
That plastic with swans for making a wedding cake
Great to see what's in the bags you buy.x
It is tiered cake stand for making cakes for weddings the swan pillers hold up each layer.
I also had the go!d covered seagulls plus one single one. Looked nice back in the 1980s,,lol
We did too and a huge sailboat.... Think my mom tossed them when they moved 😳😆
Thanks for taking us shopping but I hope you are resting. Go home, put your feet up, sparkling apple cider and enjoy a good show! You deserve it!!!
The Christmas Box Cookie jar was really cool...
At 7:30 the yellow shelf does have McKenzie Child's nobs on it . Dang it !
Love your vids. Also loved your intro and the flick of your leather jacket. Where’s it gone😳
I never comment, but I noticed that you are wearing a pair of flip flops just like I have. They are so comfortable I have a couple pairs!
As much as I think that angel is cute, I wouldn't have even looked it up!! Yup! You have the eye for treasures!! Thank you! I can't beleieve you are still out and about! But then, when I was over-due, I walked the malls forever!!
I have the same beaded black cat purse that you have too!
Such a fun time and I wish that the rest of the nativity would have been there I betcha that would be really pretty set.
Rapha House is an organization providing rescue, support and raising awareness for human trafficking, it's kinda cool to see something of theirs on this channel. ^-^
You're going to have that baby in the Goodwill.
You can bet if she finds a glassy baby it would send her into labor 😏 lol
OMG Linda you made me laugh so hard with that one.
I love Goodwill. You are doi g a great job. Wish we lived closer cause I want a Goodwl pal. I live in Georgia.
That angel 😇 was something. You never know what you will find in a grab bag
The swans and plates are for wedding cake's, the plates are devideras and the swans are decorations.
Love the egg, and the glass bead grab bag!
The David's Cookies jars might surprise you. I bought a lot for real short $ summer of 2019 and did very well with them. BUT that was then and sold at the local collectables/flea market.
The plastic stuff in the bag, I think, was a cake holder for a wedding or such.
