The math when talking about the Regimental Tactics skill at 15:20 is wrong. You would do the multiplication first so in your example with a bonus of +4, it would be 20 + (2×4) for a bonus of 28%
Thanks for this guide. Competent and pertinent as always :) However it would be great to know, how the character build influences the game outside of combat. Adding "c" to RPGs has made them so much about combat and even combat only, while RPGs are so much about playing a role in the game world, being someone specific with particular and distinct relationship to this world that shapes your trajectory within it. That includes dialogues, making friends (or foes), having (or not) certain encounters, finding (or not) some objects etc.
so one thing about the operative archtype, you can use that as a psyker for melee since you get the weapon skill modifiers and intelllect and then go into assassin from there
This is a super lite touch upon everything, all based on combat. Combat isn't the only aspect of the game so skipping this is essentially skipping an important factor of the game. For Fextralife to focus purely on combat... Yeah I found better help elsewhere which gave me an idea what the group needs in terms of roles, and the most important skills in, and out of combat. Trying out a voidborn noble officer. Really leaning in on the leadership there, supporting via commanding. Lore skills, and persuasion at 50. Secondary role is mid-range fire.
@@kajetan9906 slight correction and clarification. Kingmaker was made as rtwp, then a tb mod was made by the community, which OC adopted into KM, then when they made wrath, kept it. So PF games are still rtwp first with tb tacked on.

Lore wise, a tech priest wouldn't become a rogue trader. A priest might join the crew of one, like what happens in the game, but they themselves would not become a rogue trader due to their allegiance to the Omnissiah
Neither would a Ministorum Priest tbh. And look at characters like Cawl, he definitely has the independence of mind(s) and intuitive to pursue such unorthodox approaches to gathering information and technology - and he is the Fabricator General. Who knows how many like minded Tech-priest’s are out there. And besides, you are not necessarily playing as a Tech Priest who hasn’t been Excommunicated.
Getting Rogue Trader setup so its ready to go when in get disappointed by the Identity Politics and poor coding of Act 3 in BG3. Maybe Larian should have focused more on the coding instead of the Identity writing in Act 3. Act 3 is an excellent example of the inverse relationship Cultural Marxism and quality of product. The only thing I learned from this video is that the presenter thinks X would be good on an operative type or melee focused character. I learned nothing about soldier or officer type characters. Good, informative video, as always. Not sure which I'm looking forward to the most: Rogue Trader builds or late game BG3 builds.

could you describe your idea for a melee psyker build?

Where is the Tech Priest ?!?
you haven't the option for that. sadly...
Wait, can I be a Psyker+Warrior?
Yes you can, the Biomancer Psyker is all about melee combat (and healing) and I believe the Pyro Psyker also gains some melee synergy
looks like this changed with release, forge world not saying anything about augmentations now.
abit sad there isnt a Tech Priest class,
I would argue origin is more like a "class" and archetypes are more like subclasses
My take away from rogue traders character creation is that it’s more complicated than bg3’s but less detailed somehow
