@@FLRailroaddog well E units are longer and run on 2, 3 axle trucks (6 wheels per truck) .

I don't think its fair to say that the E3 was unsuccessful because not very many were sold. The E3 was EMC's first "off the shelf" (Same locomotive for every railroad that ordered it) passenger model, where the EAs, E1s, and E2s were all built for specific railroads. All of those models are considered successful, even though they ran on less reliable Winton 201-a engine. EMC made a profit off the E3, and the railroads used them for many years, which in my opinion makes them successful.

Hmmm 🤔 interesting ideas. Typically I try and aim for engines used by multiple railroads. Then again I don’t think I’ve seen images of the locomotives you mentioned. But I’ll take a look.

@@ironhorsehistorian9871 They were E6 booster modified cab to bend in with A6 units on the Rock Island's primer passenger train, The Rocky Mountain Rocket that ran from Chicago to Denver, Colorado and Colorado Springs. The train would split at Limon, Colorado where the A unit went to Denver, and AB6 would go to Colorado Springs. The consist would reunite on the return to Limon. They used in the Chicago commuter service until their retirement. There is a fascinating story behind those E units. Mo Pacific an E6 with one engine were the space for the 2nd engine was turned into a baggage department. I will leave the rest to you to research.

Thanks for the bit of info, the main reason I don’t include every rr is so I don’t have the video get long winded. Also if I can’t find a photo, I don’t include the Engine
