have a Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 with the projector and that thing is beaten up - slammed several times over the course of every gamescom since 2015, thousand times falling off my bed, falling from my kitchen etc. The screen is cracked, an displayedge is completely broken off, the corner with the powerbutton is severly damaged, the hull can be taken off as some clips broke from falling apparently and it still works.
Sure i have a fee cracks in the glass but theyre not really noticeable and they didnt interfere with the Yoga Tab 3 special AnyPen Tech that lets u use anything as a pen, even chopsticks, a fork, pencils or a dildo. If u want something to survive, get Lenovo - Even a fancypants glass Tablet with inbuilt projector survives more punishment than 100 Ipads could take

Was the screen smashed or scratched? Cus if it smashes then I feel that's a design oversight on the whole rugged thing.
@@NeonCodingyou can only do so much. More protection against cracking often means the Screen will be more susseptible to scratching. Also a tablet has an exposed Screen so it's hard to protect. Edges are wide and pertrude forward to keep the Screen from touching the Ground at all on a level surface. On a laptop i guess the while Situation would have gone differently. Yet when you put such devices near (hardened) Metal it's gonna harm them.
I love this channel lol. True story, my mom (a scientist) was once out in the field and her teams land rover got caught in the mud and they used their super fancy 10k+ field laptop as a board under the wheel to get the truck out of the mud hole. It worked and it even turned on afterwards.

Yeah. I can relate to this. My dad & 2 uncles works in piping & their equipment (including electronics) have to stand great impacts (due to being tens of metres high above the ground & water surface). They probably have this in their company's equipment storage

The customisation for this is actually very good. Decent storage space, wifi, batteries, 4G and full security controls.
Can you change one battery while running off the other? My gut's telling me that that's the point of having two.

Super common in industrial and scientific application. Panasonic toughbooks all have serial ports, and I think they do a rugged tablet (or at least a convertible) in that range, too. It's common to see brand new CNC lathes and similar roll off the production line with RS-232 communication, because machinery like that has been made to be a drop-in replacement, generation on generation, for older tech. Conventions established thirty years ago are still needed now, because a change even in something as simple as communication protocol might have a knock-on effect requiring a whole workshop be upgraded.
@@NoobixCube That and RS-232 is the only still widely supported connector that has the option for secure attachment with the thumbscrews. A bit overkill for an office projector, but you really don't want your lathe/CO2 monitor/whatever becoming disconnected.
@@NoobixCube We didn't expect this because most don't have them. There is no question about the usefulness of a serial port.
It is like the Ethernet port, very useful but there are many laptops that don't have one.
@@bosstowndynamics5488 There are simple connectors with built in USB to RS232 or UART adapter. They have the same footprint and geometry as a DSUB-9 and the same pinning to the PCB as a RS232 but have a micro-USB-Port on the outside.
However, a other problem can be the reaction time, USB adapters are slower than native UART and some software can't handle that.

It's so weird to see you reviewing this. I have been using these at my job for years. I'm in the Navy and the only difference is that ours doesn't have cameras at all because we use them in high sec areas, but I can tell you from much experience that they can take a lot of abuse.

It reminds me of the TC70 I use at work. It is basically an oversized smartphone with a nice built in scanner. They get dropped basically everyday and some are missing button covers, but they keep on working. The replaceable batteries are very convenient too.
I somehow have a man crush on Riley. it's the mesmerizing mustache and the awkward sincere jokes and unusual pauses.
Seems like the perfect tablet for Linus, he doesn't seem to like the iPad very much...

I looked at the assembly manual on Dell's support page for this Latitude 7220 and the way the cooling is done is pretty insane for a tablet. Not only is there a pretty beefy heat pipe with some very fairly tiny aluminum fins on the end for CPU cooling, there is also a dedicated copper heatsink and heatpipe that attach to the fan assembly to cool the SSD! They actually invested in enhanced cooling of the SSD, which I must say is a big accomplishment for a tablet, considering that most standard laptops on the market only provide some thermal pads.

Its a thick, heavy, dumpster fire.

I work as a supervisor in a 3rd party cold storage and logistics wearhouse. With temperatures in the -10°F and colder this tablet is nice to have on the dock and freezer. I have dropped one from about 20ft up (not on purpose) hardly a scratch on it. It's a great tablet for industrial work places.
For example we use these kind of tablets as car mechanics to scan obd-s, update the systems, etc... , so if we drop it or something drops on it, it wont break. I love these boys, they are amazing.
I'm a IT specialist ad GIS analyst for an archaeology company. We have a fleet of these that serve us well. They work for field data collection and as a dockable workstation. It also has an SBAS capable GPS reciever.
