Highlights of last year’s Puerto Rican Solidarity Day held at Madison Square Garden with 20,000 in attendance. Includes speeches from Angela Davis and Jane Fonda.
Just guessing ofc but I feel like the 70s was the only time in US history where a POC coalition actually existed on a concrete lvl. That generation of Black America was really about that life, living out their ideals & fighting not just for themselves but for all oppressed peoples, the way it should be be. Unfortunate how since that time, the solidarity hasn’t been as reciprocated.
I don’t think solidarity has left the black American community, black Americans are in community with most POC. It’s the non black POCs who have jumped ship, into whiteness
They souled out. They moved from the "Rebel class" or The Resistance and into American The Middle Class, continued to go to college and earn degrees and work THEY SOULED OUT!
Very few. Most were, and still are, Niegreaux. Just because they started calling themselves "Black" after it became trendy doesn't mean the thought and behaved like Black political freedom fighters. The average male was still chasing women and the average female was trying to look like the celebrity of the day to get attention from guys.
Even tho there's still a lot of racism between Puerto Ricans, it's nice to be reminded that some of us have solidarity with each other. Viva Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

The crack epidemic broke black and brown communities
Yep... The crack epidemic that hit all POC communities makes more sense now. They had to kill these movements somehow.
