    I've done some youtube videos MANY years ago. Amazing how many hours it takes for just a few minutes of video. A lot harder than it looks! Not to mention the editing!

    Great design. I get tired of toe pinchers after a while. This would be perfect to put a body slinger in. Can't wait to see the next part.

    As someone who is also from the South, my mantra is "If you need me in the summer, no you don't." 😂 Heat is always a valid reason to postpone anything! The project is looking SO GOOD so far and I'm really excited to see the rest!
    Also the bloopers are adorable and I love them so much

    I love building coffins. Probably built about a dozen over the years, all toe pinchers. I have two and the others are here and there in others haunted houses.

    Ha! The bloopers were hilarious! Excited to see the rest, I’m in Florida so I get it, there’s no working outdoors after 7am, and it’s in the 80s at night, as in after 9pm. 🥵 what a pain!

      @@VanOaksProps I have an additional question. What do you think of just using the foamular boards with the 1x3 framing, if they don't have to be particularly sturdy?

    Looking great. Heat in central illinois is going to shutdown my work of the haunt fence with 100 degree tempts and 60 to 80% humidity. The highlight though was the bloopers real. Those are screaming to be a regular feature.

    derek its gary in vegas finally got my 3d printer and am doing the test prints for my haunted mansion singing busts.... so far amazing !!! ned is printing now then all will have a test print done so i can play with the video a bit if all plays out ill start printing the to scale size busts.. the mansion ones are supposedly 3 ft tall mine will only be 1.5 ft then ill be moving to the bat stanchions for the rope tops ....as they say i need to look alive !!!!!!!........thanks for the motivation now ill go make something!!!!

    Also, get yourself a Kreg Pockethole Jig. It will help making your Pine frames a lot stronger.

    I feel you on the heat, things aren't much better in Georgia. Anything outside from mowing the lawn to prop builds have to be done pretty early, or else I'll be just drenched in sweat from my antidepressant lol
    Hopefully things cool off soon so I can get some things built, the angle bracket thing's gonna help me building some Frankenstein lab equipment for my theme this year

    I love your build videos. Here in Texas we are in the SUMMER... no rain for months, no pasture left for the livestock and too hot to work on props and such outside! Getting ready to start my crypt wall build for the cemetery. Planning 2 big crypts and a line of ovens! Going to be FUN!

    I get it, i've been working on stuff in this California heat as well. Stay hydrated and know your limits. Wear underarmor and you can squeeze out even more work time.

    A useful trick on things that have to be broken down is to put dowels in as though you were going to glue them but not glue them. This means that when the angle brackets or perhaps luggage latches pull the parts together they get aligned by the pins.

    Good stuff so far. Not sure how far back you filmed, but if it was recent, then the "break in the weather" you were looking for it now a Hurricane/Tropical Storm. I get it, we are here in So Cal (OC) and I am supposed to be painting my Mom's house. Yeah...sure....

    "Prop".. HA!.. We all know whose project this is.. Day too hot.. Sun too bright.. Has to work early mornings.. Doesn't want to disturb the neighbors..     If I can make a recommendation, you would be better off using Titebond III glue which is completely waterproof. Titebond I or II will break down over time should this prop be used outdoors.

    Is there a reusable respirator mask, filters and safety glasses (that go over regular glasses) you recommend?

      I really like 3M respirators. This one in particular: amzn.to/44FvC2g and their P100 cartridges.

    Hey Derek where are you purchasing the Foam Core? All I can find is perforated pannels at Home Depot or Lowes, but not solid sheets.

      Home Depot near me has it, but I had to get it delivered to me via the website. I couldn’t walk into the store and buy it.

    It is not a coffin. It is a casket. A coffin has the narrower ends for the feet and wider at the shoulder.

    For your wood work aspect, I reccomend a trim router with a flush trim bit. It's way quicker than a belt sander. And yeah... This heat has made me not want to do anything all summer. I'm glad you're able to push through it and make these videos though. They're one of the only things lately that I'm finding on the internet that I actually enjoy.
