They make tons of neat products from what I've researched! One even glows in UV light to detect hard to find oil leaks :)
I've been using the LiquiMoly 10w40 Super Leichtlauf ( blue canister ) for a long time in my old Benz's. Engine runs noticably more silent. After 6000mi / 1000km oil change intervals the oil still looks quite clean. I would definitely recommend this brand. Here in Europe it costs about the same as any other premium brand oil.
Yea that’s the light blue one it’s fully synthetic, I swear when I put it with one botttle and a half of ceratec engine sounds like brand new and it accelerates better and so effortlessly, I swear it’s not a placebo effect, been working on these cars for Years
I am right there with you, Kent, I use Liqui-Moly Molygen in mine. Oil analysis shows engine wear has reduced since using it over the M***L 1 oil, but I also started going by the testing labs recommended oil change interval for my engine based on my analysis, which is less than Mercedes. Instead of 10k we are doing 6k. I hope to get another 10 years outa the old girl.
I like these videos of the old mercedes and I just happened to need engine oil for my 2005 Kia Besta 2.7 diesel. I live in Chile but I am also from Holland like the mecanic in of this channel so I understand his sense of humor! I just ordered a 4 liter can of this oil and I am happy to know it slows down wear! It was one of the more affordable choices when it comes t engine oil so I saved money too like Zeeuws Meisjelll Geen cent te veel hoor!!! ☺️☺️🇳🇱🇨🇱🇺🇸

Thanks for the great video, Kent! I have been using LiquiMoly in M113 engines as well since they are also very sensitive to poor oil maintenance and develop valvetrain noise as a result. It makes a huge difference! I love that R107 with the red over tan and euro headlights. Beautiful car!
Knew that you used it, but didn't know why. Good explanation. We used to buy tubes of Molybdenum Disulfide to squeeze into the transaxles of VW Type 2 transporters & buses. It would quiet them down.
In WW2 the germans used MoS2 and water to lubricate tanks engines in Africa, due to allies actions to cut oil suply. MoS2 adheres firmly to metal with mechanical pressure.
Thank you Kent for this great video. I had been researching for what type of oil to run in my three Mercedes, Porsche, etc . It's good that the oil quietens the engine and seals leaks , etc. too
I agree with Kent 100%. Chain ware is to do bad engine oil(lack of oil or poor maintenance of the engine). Liqui Moly I have used in other vehicles(none MB) and despite it maybe a pit spicy on price(depending where you live in the world). It is worth the money and saves your new rebuild or old engine from a lot of problems.
I used 15W-40 MOS2 engine oil following Kent's recommendation and noticed quieter and smoother operation in my OM617 motor following completion of my Auto-RX engine oil treatment. I expect better fuel economy and will report back if so. I can't claim that it has reduced any oil burning or leaks just yet but will keep an eye on it.
My 1997 C280 with the M104 Inline 6 with 190k miles was burning a quart every 2000, I switched to a high mileage version of Mobile 1 full synthetic 5w-30 and it stopped burning completely. Might give LM a try if it helps with timing chain wear since I haven't had any problems there yet. 👍🏼
I will support your claims! I haven't used this oil but I have used Liqui Moly's MoS2 additive for years. It goes into my 1992 W140 with an M104 and my E36 with an M43. I have even started adding it to my girlfriend's 2019 Hyundai with a GDI engine, as these have a Molybdenum Disulphide coating on the piston skirts that is prone to wearing off and causing accelerated wear. I feel by adding it to the oil their is a constant supply. I always notice a more refined running engine (smoother and quieter) to anything I add it to, and also reduced oil and fuel consumption in older, high mileage vehicles.

I would not recommend 10/30 in an old Mercedes V8 with over 100K. At cold startup 10/30 and 10/40 are going to behave pretty much the same. It is running the engine hot for long periods where you need the extra viscosity to protect your 560 engine.

Would you recommend it for a 328k om606 turbo? I've been using regular LiquiMoly 0w or 5w40 for a few years and occasionally Mobil1, all 229.5 spec.

This was just the question I needed answering
currently using castrol gtx sae 10w-30 on my 1992 3.0 300E should i switch over to this specific brand? i burn about a quart every 7 to 800 miles or so but not too sure, and there’s a leak but i’m not sure how to diagnose it... currently sitting at 124,000 miles, any comments, advice, suggestions would be greatly appreciated (first time classic benz owner)
william III thanks man i will.
Shall I use it for the M113? Got a 2001 with 55kMiles
NOPE
What oil do you recommend for a m103?
Why isn’t this oil more popular though if it’s so good? MB/Porsche/BMW do Mobil 1 and Castrol for factory fill right?
Did you watch the ENTIRE video. Did you understand what I was saying? I showed in the video what it said on the side of the bottle. What does "HIGH MILEAGE" mean? This is NOT for new engines!!!
@@Mercedessource ah yes I must not have been listening at the end :)
can we use this oil for the diesel engines as well OM617 turbo engines?
Yes, I checked with Liqui Moly customer service
Can this oil be used in a S 365000km M113 2004 E500 4matic v8 engine? Thank you so much
yes
What do you recommend for diesel OM 617 engines?
I use this in the Fall and Winter. I use Liqui Moly 15w40 during Spring and Summer
Chain has been replaced at 140,000 miles.Isn’t that low mileage for a timing chain? I thought they were good for life of the car.
what are the best engine additives to use on a 1979 450sl?
If your engine is healthy and you use the oil recommended in this video you do not need additional additives.
@@Mercedessource thank you sir. I will be a purchaser. do you have a link of a supplier that gives you some kickbacks. would love to support the channel
I have a mercedes 560 sel with 115000 miles on, should inuse 10/30 or 10/40 l molly ? Im in england UK its a cold country compared to texus
I would not recommend 10/30 in an old Mercedes V8 with over 100K. At cold startup 10/30 and 10/40 are going to behave pretty much the same. It is running the engine hot for long periods where you need the extra viscosity to protect your 560 engine.
@@Mercedessource many thanks Kent, I'll stick to the 10/40 l Molly
@@Mercedessource many thanks for the reply, would you say 10/40 l molly is better? Its a 1986 560sel
Could I use this oil in my 95 E320 with M104 engine ?
Yes you can.
@@Mercedessource Thanks 👍
Would you recommend it for my 1989 300CE inline 6? It only has 64K miles on it, and doesn't burn any oil at all but I want to keep it in good repair.
Yes, the M103 engines love this oil.
Would this oil be good for my 1985 380se
Absolutely
I have another question for you guys. What spark plugs and wires should I buy for my 1990 300 SEL V6 sedan ? I appreciate any advise you can offer. Thank you, Juanita
I sell the correct ones on my website: mercedessource.com/store/search?keys=m103%20spark
Hi kent can i use this on my 1988 mercedes benz 560sl with 74k miles ?
Did you watch the full video? What does it say on the bottle?
What kind of oil you recommend
Can this oil be used in a 2000 e320 4matic v6 engine ?
yes it can provided your engine is high mileage (over 100K)
Whays the best oil for a 280 se w116?
The answer is in the video.
Can be used in gasoline engines?
Yes, of course.
I did an engine swap on my 380SL for a M117 out of a 500SEC. While doing the swap, I noticed that the cams were really pitted and had them ground. The guy that ground them told me that I should add zinc to the oil, because modern oils don't have enough for these engines. Should I do that if I use this oil?
My opinion is it would not be necessary. The Moly in this oil will do everything zinc would do and maybe better.
Hi there,
I have w140 s500 1995 180k miles. What oil would you recommend to use?
Thanks
Your Benz is a perfect candidate for this oil.
After my second oil change with Liqui Moly 10w40 the oil consumption on my LX450 is very minimal
