Listen to it again with this in mind. The BASS started the song and the baritone hit that wonderful low note. These guys have big ranges and swap off singing different parts so everyone gets a chance at the lead on songs. The beat boxer sings once in a while, but not lead. Good voice though. Pretty cool right? Can't wait to see what you choose next. Thank you! ^_^
They need to go back and listen to other songs first to get their normal ranges in mind. Mayday is the worst song to listen to first for the reasons you point out. I actually think Auld Lang Syne is a great one since you hear all of them in their normal ranges.
they are SO good that it is easy to forget that there are no instruments. And the fun thing about this one is the very first person who is singing high...is their bass, Tim, who can sing so low he blows speakers in concert. Their beat boxer is a freak of nature and can sound like an entire band by himself...and in this song, their baritone takes the bass part...they are so versatile in their voices that they switch off parts. A funny video is "The Butts Remix", then to hear more of their beat boxer "House Party", "Man of Constant Sorrow", "Can't Stop the Feeling"
Home Free is by far my favorite group currently. They are a country group , but they like to branch out and do other types of music like this. try "In the Blood"; "I Can't Outrun You", "My Church"; "Thinking Outloud"; and a really funny video the "Butts Remix".
If you love the Bas, this was a poor song to listen too for your 2nd Home Free reaction. This song and video are great, but you can't appreciate the first verse, because their Bass is singing Tenor. This is one of my faves from HF!
That's why I hate when people want new listeners to react to this song. I wish fans would quit asking for it right away. It really kind of ruins the impact for the person reacting.
Up front from left to right Rob is the big guy with the beard he sings second tinner and falsetto, in the middle is Tim he's singing falsetto right now and he's the Bass, Austin sings first tenor, and also sings falsetto! Now the two in the back starting on the left, the beatboxer is Adam, he's magical. Next is Chris, who looks like Leonardo DiCaprio, he sings second Tenor, also Alto which is mid-range, and Baritone as you just heard!
The significance of the song was lost or simply wasn't realized ---- a stunning performance none-the-less!!! Glad ya liked it... Home Free's SuperBass opened as lead tenor and hit that falsetto note like it's nothing (you didn't know any different; last reaction you called out the guy with beard and glasses doing the low notes).......... The baritone was pulling off the bass line and that super impressive low note, again --- like it was nothing (and it wasn't; that's what he does.... but also has a very impressive 4 octave range...) Tim pulled off the bass solo in your last reaction of B2M, also baritone and tenor harmonies. Chance was doing the bass line and harmony bass with Tim on that one also. Adam absolutely kills the percussion/drums and so many other sounds --- he's not human. Rob L being tenor (beard and glasses) with Austin being high tenor (long hear and beard) Both of these guys have some of the most incredible harmonies......... well, all do ........ since you have 5 tenors, 2 baritones (
Other than ALL of their songs here's a couple of suggestions: 'Man of Constant Sorrow' and 'Auld Lang Syne.' I think you'll enjoy EVERYTHING they do.. even their originals! I can't wait to see what you think about them as you become a Home Fry (Home Free fan.)
You might enjoy their performances on a show called “The Sing Off”. It was an a cappella competition show from a while ago and is actually where these guys got their big break (mrduckbear11 here on RUclips has them all with the intros and judge comments, which are hilarious sometimes!). It will also give you a chance to hear them all. They have had one person change since then (baritone and founding member Chris Rupp has since gone on to start a different group, with Adam Chance replacing him) but the other 4 are all featured at some point in the competition.
when I first heard Home Free I had no idea where all the sounds were coming from-I'm like-say what? the bass and the beat boxer-I didn't know how they were moving their lips but the singing was not coming from them? what is going on? ear buds helped me figure it out because my eyes were confused-and it always seems as if there is music but it's all them- it's looped but it is all them
The reason most people wait 5-10 songs into Home Free before they watch Mayday is because it's a good idea to get to know the band before watching this one. mayday turns everything on it's head. Tim has an awesome range. He goes from tenor to deep deep bass. After getting to know Tim's bass, then you see him start this song. And then there's Chance, their baritone. He and Tim will trade off the bass part when Tim sings lead and other background vocals. Mayday shows how he can hit some low notes that most people don't expect. Mayday usually surprises most people because everyone seems to be switching parts (from normal).
To hear everyones voice(except the beat boxer) watch "Women Amen/Female". All of them have a part in that song and it's a great mashup of 2 different songs.
Just flew right over your head, didn't it? Yes, they were stomping on the floor. That's just part of a music video to a studio performance. None of what you think is percussion is coming from feet on the floor. This is a video. Adam makes those sounds with his MOUTH. He doesn't need anyone stomping on the floor. "The guy in glasses (Rob) was making deep beats with his mouth"? Rob? Obvious, you don't "understand"-ruclips.net/video/aNR68r8Ict4/видео.html .

Chance is SOOOOOOO underrated. Yeah, we know Tim has a range beyond even Freddie Mercury, so we don't even need to talk about that, lol.

Home Free's covers of "Blue Ain't Your Color", "Can't Stop The Feeling", "Castle On The Hill" "Butts Remix"

You should react to Adam Rupp's beatbox solo, the newer version , really cool.
I agree Pamela If you didn't know any better You'd swear he has everything right there in front of him
Now that you are undersrtanding this group is A Capela, You must listen to MAN OF CONSTANT SORROW
Up front from left to right Rob is the big guy with the beard he sings second tinner and falsetto, in the middle is Tim he's singing falsetto right now and he's the Bass, Austin sings first tenor, and also sings falsetto! You are the cutest young lady I have seen in a long time, great reaction.

I would recommend how great thou art. They all sing parts.

The singing is top notch but I confess Adam Rupp the beatboxer is my fave. For hearing them all try home free hunter hayes medley

Headphones always with Acapella groups to hear all the nuances 😊
Thanks Love this so much They Killed it 🔥🔥😍❤️✌🏻
Watch this one and then watch Ring of Fire. Notice the range of the guy that starts this song
Love this song
Their beatboxer is a 2 time world champion.
Check out his drum solo with no drums
Listen to helplessly hoping to hear each of them singing even Adam Rupp the beat boxer
To hear everyones voice(except the beat boxer) watch "Women Amen/Female". All of them have a part in that song and it's a great mashup of 2 different songs.
Their cover of "Castle on the Hill" also highlights all of them.
Please do some more Home Free reactions; Country Roads, Some Girls Do, Can’t Stop the Feeling and the many others suggested below.
Try "can't stop this feeling" by Justin Timberlake the troll movie song home free cover it shows off everybodys talent
that hair slayin
Check out Home Free - Ring of Fire and End of the Road.
Try wearing headphones or at least some high quality ear buds to hear much more clarity.

Great reaction
Pay attention to Tim, he usually sings really deep
Still think you should try In The Blood
everybody sings solo's on american pie.
