I spend one whole day making freezer meals for my family once a month. I make 1 extra batch of each meal and post it on a local Facebook group for people looking for a break and a homemade meal! The most rewarding feeling ever is to share my cooking. I take along my 4 year old son and his face just lights up when we pass them out!.
I think one of the most amazing things about you is that you're frugal not only to benefit the lives of your family but for other families as well. I love freezer meal prep videos but knowing that you're donating some of the meals to people who need it makes it that much more special.
You have made a horrible medical news day into i am so happy i found this person with her wisdom and sense of humor brought me back from the brink. May God bless.
There is only three people in my household right now and I never thought about freezer meals. However I am rethinking this idea. I have a chronic pain problem and have a hard time even getting through the week most times, so instead of having my husband run to town for fast food I think this would work. Thank you for being such an inspiration
An actual quote from my grandmother when I asked her for a recipe once- “and then you add one handful of sugar.” Me- “what?!? Whose handful? I have tiny hands!” That’s the day she realized her adult granddaughter had the hands of a child instead of her giant hands.
Although these are good suggestions for meal prepping, they also use a LOT of aluminium and plastic. Maybe, if one does that kind of meal prepping very often, investing in a set of reusable containers might be advised to reduce the waste? I think they make similar sizes in (oven- and freezer-proof) glass? Admittedly, they are easier to give away in these bags/containers to people in need. Just a suggestion for those who think about using the program on the regular for their own family...
Christine puts out a new video, and I stop what I'm doing and watch. Favorite RUclipsr. She's fun, informative and relatable. Also, clearly she has great taste in t-shirts
I did our freezer meal prep for February on the weekend. I made: chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, pork and beans, meatball pasta bakes, pizza sauce, and breakfast casserole (four of each), and a stack of waffles. You've inspired me so much. I bought an instant pot, and I love it. I no longer roast our Sunday lunch, it goes in the instant pot and I add the vegetables for 20 mins at the end. My monthly food shop cost £80 this month
Instead of doing a day of prep for a bunch of freezer meals, I’ve gotten into the habit of making a 2nd freezer meal along side with dinner. Example if I’m making pulled pork tonight for dinner I’ll make a second one but as a freezer meal, for later. There is 4 of us in my family and my boys are still young and don’t eat a whole portion. Plus my love hates leftovers. So often I can take a single recipe and cut it in half. One for now and one for later.
Back in the day before Covid, My church has a huge kitchen and we would have days where we all came and prepped together and made a bunch meals to give out like this. So fun and such a great way to serve your community.
I went to middle school and high school with Gwen! We were cheerleaders together. She is seriously one of the nicest people you will ever meet in your life!
Love that you donated so many of these meals! It's only my husband and myself right now, so I don't see myself making all these, but then again, it would be great to have some on hand just to give to those who are sick/new moms/grieving families. I love taking meals to people. They all look really good. Thank you, great video!
Can we all just take a moment to praise and thank this wonderful woman for being her. She truly is an extraordinary person with a heart of gold. If more people would lead by example from her this world we live in would truly be a better place. Your amazing and thankyou for for sharing your life an knowledge to everyone willing to listen.
These videos are so calming to watch. Christine you've saved me from countless panic attacks and anxiety episodes. Watching you cook, shop and do everyday errands is relaxing. You're a real inspiration. Thank you for always sharing! ❤
Your videos are so much fun! I am a 58 year old father of three and Grandfather of six and I've always done the cooking. Your style and enthusiasm are exactly how I cook! Enjoy the process, the satisfied smiles and full bellies. Can't wait to see more!!
So many great ideas. I am vegetarian, but could adapt many! I started to tear up when you said you were giving these out. Lots have people have been food scarce or in need of help over the last year. Thank-you for your kindness. 💞
Anytime I make potato soup or anything that I have to remove the peels, I slice the peels off wide and bake them till they are good and crispy and make loaded potato skins with melted cheese, sour cream, chives and bacon bits. Such a yummy snack.
Christine I bought green onions and you can regrow them just cut off the tops and put the bottom in water and just keep cutting them. I cut them up and store them in the freezer in a baggie I haven't bought any in over a year.
Hi, since you're such a friends fan, I thought I'd share my story. A few years ang, my husband had a job interview in Santa Monica, and Iwas invited along. While there we went to LA and caught the last Warner Bro tour of the day. Since it was the last one, and there were only a few of us, we got to do things that they don't normally do, such as I sat in the front seat on the Ellen set. We were shown the friends coffee shop replica set, complete with the original couch that they used. Our group got to sit on the couch, with a pic taken of us holding the coffee cups :). Maybe that's not such a big deal to people from the States, since you guys can go there if you want to, but to me it was pretty cool at the time, since I was a huge friends fan also. TFS
I thought I was the bomb, making two freezer meals 😁. I ended up bringing my mom and dad, they are older and mom can't do all the standing , cooking gave them a few freezer meals , she texted me a thank you 😊, that made my day after all they did for us kid's, I can now return the 💘.
How awesome that you have helped your friends and their families. I make extra at times for my next door neighbor that is a single mother. and she is always so greatful.
Christine you are so funny to watch I've seen many people prepare large family freezer meals. But none of them make it so entertaining as you do lol. Nice job. Shirley
I grew up in a family of 6, we ate a lot of Kraft Mac and cheese, I love casseroles but mom never made them. Today I’m retired divorced and by myself. I use your meal ideas, for myself, and my freezer plays a big part.
For the potato soup, if you're willing to spend the extra money, instead of fresh potatoes, you can use Ore Ida's frozen cubed potatoes (usually includes peppers too) 😁
I finally tried using pitchers to hold my ziplocs tonight. LIFE CHANGING! You're brilliant! (Yes, we've reached the point where this is a highlight for me... how sad is that?)
I enjoy watching your cutting techniques. I find it pleasantly unique that you show the entire chopping process in one short clip. Thank you, for the video!
Je né sais pás quoi = I do not know what Je né sais pás = I do not know Just a little support from a teacher that studied French during high school in Canada 👍🏼
Love your videos! Wanted to let you know you I just recently found out the secret to freezing potatoes. If you blanch them and then freeze them, they won’t turn brown. For soup you could freeze them all together but if you want to make home fries or something, freeze single layer on a cookie sheet and then transfer to a freezer bag.
Christine: What do you say we make 30 freezer meals today? Me: runs to get snacks- Ummm yes!! Let’s do it! And by let’s... I mean Christine does all the work and I watch and eat snacks 😂
Pro crockpot tip- Spray the crockpot with cooking spray before cooking anything that might stick, like that breakfast casserole. Makes cleaning a breeze!
Getting ready to have our 4th baby in another 10-12 weeks. Our oldest is almost 14, youngest is almost a year old. For the last baby, my oldest stayed up half the night after an all day grocery haul to help me prep pan meals for the freezer. This looks soooo much easier. We just printed off the booklet.
So, I did this meal prep pack on Sunday. It was incredibly rewarding to see all that food pile up in my freezer, knowing that 5 hours of prep and cooking has covered me for dinners for at least a month. It's just two of us, so we'll probably make it last longer. I needed pretty much everything on the shopping list with the exception of spices, and I spent $190 at Walmart, which I was quite pleased about. My kitchen was a chaotic mess, but we put on a marathon of Lord of the Rings extended editions, and we were set lol. Thank you SO much for demoing this freezer meal bundle. I can't wait to do the summer pack sometime!
Im pregnant and can't wait to fill my freezer with easy to follow meals for hubby to be able to cook once baby arrives. Most these recipes actually look like my whole family will enjoy.
Love how you give back to your community. I have a friend due in may with her second and she will definitely babe if it from this. I also think it’s a great idea not to worry about cook dinner for a whole month. Heck yea.
Im so glad I found you! I live South of Pocatello. Its nice to find someone finding these deals with stores that are actually available on my area! And love you being realistic and not editing out things like the eggshells 😊
You encourage me, I'm home from work for at least 10 days. My youngest grandson is home for 2 weeks..I looked in my pantry and freezer today. Frozen homemade meatballs... no spaghetti sauce..poo. BUT! Got fat/oil, flour and bullion... dinner = meatballs in beef gravy over rice. Win win... thanks Christine
I just subscribed to the eating together site for $5 a month. For $5 you certainly get quite a bit of information, recipes, shopping lists, gluten and dairy free modifications if you need them, there's even a little game idea they give you to play with your family while you're eating. I am really impressed and now I'm excited to go prep some freezer meals 😃
A dill person always marries a sweet person, just as a morning person always marries a night person. As a "woman of a certain age," I thank you for a pop culture reference I get ... Fred and Ginger. When my kids were at home and I worked full-time plus, once a month freezer meals was how we survived. Now I'm retired but still making freezer meals for my even-older-than-me parents.
When you said “Freezer meals” I did not know if you were going to buy a bunch of box meals. I am so glad you put out the content you do. I can always appreciate homemade meals.❤️💕
Absolutely love this video and the ease it brings to everyday living. And, I think you are amazingly generous in supporting your community. Blessings be upon you.
Thanks for this! For the first time in 14 years I am working full time. It’s still from home, but 8-10 hours a day is a lot to try to have dinner on the table for a family of 6. I just bought the freezer pack and will make it this weekend!
Just purchased!! What a great idea! I am the administrator of my town and there are a lot of elderly people that I can feed! This is gonna help so much! Thanks for sharing!!
We put cole slaw on our pulled pork sandwiches. We also make what we call hog troughs. It is seasoned French fries, pulled pork on top of them, then coleslaw and bar-b-que sauce.
This Eating Together meal plan kit.. sooo getting that.. thank you!!! I normally spend about 2 hrs on the grocery list 2x a month.. picking out meals.. listing ingredients.. checking those against what i have.. then figuring out how much its all going to cost.. this will save me soo much time. very grateful to you for posting this.
I'm so excited to make these meals. My friend is having surgery in a couple weeks and will be on rest for a month so I'm going to be cooking for her family and mine and paying her bills etc as well as mine. This will be a huge help. Thank you
You have no idea how helpful these videos are! Going into my 3rd trimester and will literally be using this video to help prep us for the newborn time.
I'm in my second now and have been making my freezer meal lists to make in a few months! I'm definitely going to be doing some of these. Freezer meals saved me when I had my first two kiddos.
@@mandapanda1652 congrats! This is my first and im ALLL about being prepared for what I can be prepared for. Lol. Thanks for sharing how well it worked for you :)
Great video. You make this seem like fun. I'd give anything if I could go back to the time my kids were young and have 30 meals, ready to eat in my freezer every month till they were old enough to leave home. I'm guilting myself, but truly sincere when I say this. I'm happy for women who have figured out how to be better moms. Kudos to them! 🙂❤
I enjoy your videos, and YOU! I am a new mom, and Your videos are so helpful. We are military and move a lot. The food costs in some of the places we go are insane and our commissary is not the bees knees. 😵💫 our meals need to be healthy and filling and as cheap as possible. thank you, thank you!
Great vid! Someone may have said this already but another RUclipsr puts her baggie inside another one with the recipe in between! It won't get wet, you can see it, don't have to tape it on, and can reuse it and the outside baggie if they are not too dirty. WIN-WIN!
I have been freezing dinners flat for a long time. We can fit so many more in the freezer of the RV. Also, your "meat masher", it's the best for chopping avocados for guacamole too!! You make prep work fun!
I love that you are sharing with your community and friends. We all go thru peaks and troughs and nice to know that some people still about giving. Hello from Aust! Love your channel
I love how unapologetically human you are. Dish towels and drying kitchen tools are a sign that you are feeding your family. Corn on the counter? Uneven broth? Stuff happens. It happens in my kitchen and many others across the nation too. Thanks for keeping it real. I love these ideas and can't wait until I can have a second freezer. Keep them coming.
Girllllll i just found out (if you washed and scrubbed the taters before skinning them obvs), you can toss the tater skins in some oil and salt or uncle tony's and pop in the ary fryer and you will be so happy you did!
You'll have to try my bbq pulled pork recipe! 1-2 packets of onion soup mix, 1 whole glass jar of coke (you can use DP). Then either CP it for several hours or IP it for 90-120 minutes. Then just shred and slather on your favorite bbq sauce. I use the sweet baby rays honey one. I've also added crushed pineapple to it and that's delicious too!
I hope you don't mind me saying this Christine you are awesome. Fixing freezer meals for your community before we moved my husband and I cooked all the time for our community. Where we are now we don't know to mang but we have shared with our two neighbors thank you for sharing
I love how your channel is always like “just feed your family!” It doesn’t have to be complicated or fancy, just homemade
Yes and often times, simple and easy is also delicious!

Always good to have some “ standby” meals you can just pull out when you don’t feel like cooking or can’t
Yes and it is saving you money and weight.
“ about 400° for… I don’t know until your house smells like bacon” Love it, my kind of cooking! 🥓😍
I saw an old recipe for cake that said to "bake until you smell cake" 😂😂😂

Some of us don't have an issue meal prepping and using aluminum pans. I've been doing it for years!
Agree. I cringe watching all of the plastic bags that I'm pretty sure are going to end up as trash.
I've noticed in many videos Frugal isn't always minimal ..
@@nseni31385 The issue is not using, the issue is the waste produced.

Thank you
I use a cookie type scoop to make it less messy and more uniform when making any kind of meatball
@@kellyl4301 congratulations on your first!
I’m in my second and didn’t even think of that!
Even though we are the same age. I inspire to be you when I grow up! I say this as I am decluttering while watching, so I getting there! lol
Coleslaw, with just Mayo and black pepper on pulled pork sandwich.. so good!
Yummy!! I'm moving to your neighborhood. You are such a good neighbor!! God bless you for all you do!
Great vid! Someone may have said this already but another RUclipsr puts her baggie inside another one with the recipe in between! It won't get wet, you can see it, don't have to tape it on, and can reuse it and the outside baggie if they are not too dirty. WIN-WIN!
Great tip!
You're so likeable and have such a lovely family, Christine. 😊Thanks for these awesome recipe ideas!
Have been loving the eating together meal plans. The recipes are a win.
February freezer meals includes chicken nuggets
We have really liked them!
On pickles, I'm on Team YES!!!
Same! If it’s a pickle I’ll eat it.
Same!!! Give me ALLLLLL the pickles!!😁
That is soo awesome of you to share the love in the form of a good meal to all the people who will appreciate it 😍💯👏
When I make pasta sauce I always make two batches. One for us... one to disperse with love in mason jars ❤️ it’s the best idea.
Ooo great idea! Really nice idea to hand out to some needy neighbors on Valentines Day! I need to order some mason jars. Thank you!
@@frankysma3202 it’s easy and inexpensive and means so much to people ❤️
I hope you don't mind me saying this Christine you are awesome. Fixing freezer meals for your community before we moved my husband and I cooked all the time for our community. Where we are now we don't know to mang but we have shared with our two neighbors thank you for sharing
