I wanted to leave you a comment for very long, but I just got myself to do it. Sometimes I find it strange why I watch your channel. I'm not a mom, I'm not athletic, I'm not frugal and I cannot cook at all. But I find your videos interesting and somehow calming. I had a very bad childhood and somehow it makes me happy to see your family, see what a good mother you are, how you care for your kids, encourage them to learn to appreciate food and money and feel happy that I get to see something like that. Sorry if this is a dark comment, but your videos really brighten my day. I just wish I could have had a mom like you. Keep being awesome! Thank you for that.
Thanks for commenting. I know what you mean. However, if we take little bits and pieces of what she does and learn from her, we can be a blessing to others also. I find that a wonderful thought.:)
I can't tell you all how glad I am that she finally made some freezer meals. I'm stuffed from trying to eat all this food! Vlogmas is making my clothes shrink. 😂
Im considering making a heck ton of these freezer type meals for when I'm down and not able to cook when we have our newborn coming in later April/early May! Like I'm about to go on a youtube binge watching all your videos. lol
A quick tip for getting all the sauce out of the jar. Put the lid back on after adding a little water and shake it up. You'll get the extra off the lid as well as the sides of the jar.
I have started every day of December with frugal fit mom videos with my morning coffee. Got worried about you this morning. I kept checking for a video.
We own about 30 pair of scissors. They are ALL always missing. I'll buy a new pair then those go missing too. 😒 during a spring cleaning i found like 27 pairs of scissors and they were all missing 3 days later. I still don't know how 🤷♀️ the magnet trick worked for me, almost. I kept the same pair for almost two weeks before I found them outside where my husband was working on his truck 🙃 😳
Next time you have a diabetic there, meatballs are great, just check for fillers. I buy the little tomato sauce cans and make a tiny amount of sauce adding some garlic powder, oregano or basil or both and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Put it in a little container and then do the meatballs in the air fryer or microwave. Top with some Parmesan cheese. Great diabetic meal. For the jarred sauce add the carbs + sugar and see what it adds to. I find them really heavy in those two things. Anyway, I noticed you had a relative that was diabetic and that's an easy Italian substitute for them when you eat Italian.
Well that's nice that you can freeze things on your porch! Man oh man that's cold! (I write from Southern California...) I love the idea of freezing stuffed peppers. They are just so much work. Great clearance haul and great idea for staying ahead of your kids winter break appetites!
The french toast cream cheese looks amazing! Definitely going to make that! I think I'm going to start cooking dubble portions at dinner to freeze half. Our freezer isn't that big so just buy cooking extra to freeze i should save myself alot of energy on the days I'm exhausted (pregnancy is kicking my butt)
I'm in Colorado & I put food out to cool &/or freeze all the time too. Today we did a huge pot of white bean & pork soup. Once cool, it gets bagged in single servings for the freezer. A few ideas that crossed my mind while watching. If someone is short on freezer space &/or their family doesn't like their peppers stuffed (like my husband) you could chop the peppers & mix with the chorizo mixture. Chopped cabbage would be good with it also. Canned pineapple, peaches or apricots made into a sauce would go well with the tropical fruit in the overnight french toast casserole. When you add water to a sauce jar, put the lid back on & shake it. You'll get more of the sauce out & won't need a spatula. You can cook ground meat in the Instant Pot. It would have held all the turkey for taco meat in one batch. Love your food prep videos.
Those cookies are my fav as well for the holidays. My kitchen scissors disappear as well. I put regular scissors in my kitchen and they are still there. Lol
OMG! I am known for the cranberry oatmeal white chocolate cookie in my family! I also make a soft molasses cookie half dipped in white chocolate, delicious!! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Quick tip to stretch your taco meat. Cook up 1 cup of whole wheat berries. I do it overnight in my tiny 1 qt crock pot. It's just 3 cups of water and 1 cup wheat kernels. Once they're cooked up, add 1 c of the cooked wheat in with your browned meat and increase your seasoning by about 50 percent. Gives you a lot more food, increases your fiber and vitamins, too. And the extra 2 c wheat can be frozen in 1 c quantities for the next time you make tacos. I'm sure it'd be an excellent addition to sloppy joes, too. And the wheat seasons well and isn't really noticable in the final dish.
Always love these so much! Great idea putting cheese in the turkey burgers! We eat a lot of ground turkey because it's so affordable but the family always complains of "blandness". Goat cheese is the opposite of bland, so win!
I love to buy the 10lb bags of leg quarter and then grill the whole bag up. There is just 2 of us so I freeze most of them in portions. Then when I want to use then, thaw, place on a cookie sheet, add a sauce, bbq, teriyaki etc and warm in the oven about 10 mins. So good.
I’m soooo going to steal that idea of premaking cookies and freezing them. I’m working so much next week but ill be able to make the cookie dough this weekend! Brilliant.
I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old. I feel like all they do is eat. They get 3 meals AND 3 heavy snacks per day. They're very healthy kids. :-) I make a big deal out of feeding them lots but NOT junk food because I was very nutritionally neglected as a child. I love watching your videos because you clearly care about your family's health! Merry Christmas. God bless!
I'm too lazy for lasagna too. I make a dump lasagna in the crock pot. You cook your meat whatever meet you want you put a little bit of sauce in the bottom of your crock pot you put in your uncooked lasagna noodles fit them in however add your ricotta mix then start layering super easy super quick 3 hours on high
I stubbled across your page when I was so very poor and had alot on your plate. There was something about your page. I used your recipes when I had nothing but what the food bank had given us. Now I am in a better placr in my life and still buying half price food items and watching your channel. Thanks for helping me and my family save money, eat healthy, and helping us not to feel depressed about our situation. It is really refershing to come on to youtube and see vidoes that help you get by and not trying tosell to you or make you feel less for having less. I got my current hubs buying from the discount part of our groucery store. We love it and will never go back. I hope you and your family have a great new year filled with good health, love, hope, peace, and happiness. Many blessings !
You can add beans to your taco meat to stretch it further as your boys get older. I started doing this because I have three boys. As they got older they were hungry all the time. The meat was too expensive for my budget, but I eased the budget by adding beans to some of my taco recipes. You could also use refried beans as a bottom layer instead of regular beans.
Ok I see what I was doing wrong... not cooking my peppers first!! Or cutting them in half!! My mom made it whole ans that’s fine but the peppers took soooo long to cook!
I would never have thought to put cheese in the hamburger patties. The cookies and French toast thingie looked fantastic! It all looked good. I’m in the kitchen making a ton of bread products today, thanks for keeping me company!
I’ve never thought of adding cheese to my burgers I like to sauté some onions garlic and jalapeños sometimes I’ll even add some crumbled bacon...so tasty!!!
I been really implementing these and they remind me of my struggling college days very nostalgic. I love bringing it back to basics Im saving for a house now and these budget tips really help.
I made the cranberry oatmeal cookies tonight as part of our Christmas treat gift boxes. Since you said they were so sweet I used 1/2 a bag of white choc chips instead of whole thing. They were SO good! Yum! Thanks for sharing.
I needed to leave a comment to tell you that I absolutely love your channel. As a fit frugal mom myself I have been searching for a channel like this for some time. Yours is by far the best. You are like the mom I never had. I'm learning so much!
Christine, thanks for this video. At home I'm Nana and I live with 5 of my grands. Starting Monday I hear you about the grandchildren saying, Nana where's lunch? Oh it's only breakfast. Will you please make me ... ? Since we get turkey as well, I can get some Turkey Burgers prepared for dinner and see what we have for leftovers. We have gluten-free kids so I cannot make the pasta dish but I'm going to try some of your other recipes like your lemon chicken marinate and put that in the slow cooker and let that cook slowly for dinner. Thanks Christine
His face is priceless when you showed him the cookies...😂....Now I"m gonna have to bake those-OMG! I'm going to bake and cook tomorrow, you have motivated me. I'm a visual and I appreciate you showing what you have done and what you put into your menus (the spices, sauces etc..) Thank you!!!!!!!
I've made messy lasagna, since my now tween was tiny. I use elbow or small shells. Layer w sauce and cheese. (I used to work at Fazoli's, one of my favourites is cheese ravioli w alfredo sauce, broccoli, and crumbled bacon, topped w cheese(usually mozzarella or Italian blend)and bake.
Love ur videos,,,, I find I ALREADY do so many same Technics....... Feeding family takes time, commitment, creativity, n nnnnn??? What ever,,, ur doing fantastic...
My kitchen scissors stay in my one drawer, they are a set of Henkles we got for our wedding 19 years ago . They are the best , and everyone in the family knows to put them back or else .
I always keep all the little packets/keep 1/2 the sauce/dressing for later and even crumbs/salt from Triscuits. I found you early last year with the simple bread video.
So glad to see another momma looking for those clearance food deals!! You also have helped me to be more efficient😉 with cooking more at a time and freezing left overs. Thank you!!
I wish I had freezer space. Organized mine the other day. I buy stuff on sale/clearance/Ibotta...and it's pretty full. Just 3 of us here. Will work on cleaning it out. I try to inventory my pantry and fridge/freezer every 4 months to figure out what needs used up. I keep a dry erase board on my fridge w food notes.
I can't believe I missed this the day it dropped but I think it was meant to be. Yesterday I was scheduled for surgery in January and this morning it dawned on me that I will need to batch cook and make freezer meals. So I'm sitting here with my notepad on ideas for this I can make.
Did I miss the print button on your website? I went to get the recipe and didn't see it. I did take a picture to write it down later. Thanks for sharing as always!
I officially need to make those cookies ASAP! Also, where do you get your disposable freezer pans with the lids? I have never seen them like that... and I love that!
You have the most informative cooking sessions and recipes. Because you cook with it, I bought a chorizo chub for a breakfast and plan to use it in the morning. My better half has decided he wants breakfast this week. Yay! At least he's hungry again. Thank you for all you do for your subscribers. Should I get busy and not get to watch your videos for a few days, I wish you, your family and Mom, a very Merry Christmas! Blessings!🙂 🎁 🎄
My local grocery store chain has a reward card and coupons. Recently, they started offering coupons for FREE items. One time it was an American Greetings card, another time 2 packages of toilet tissue. This time it was for two bottles of antibacterial hand soap - so, I hurried into the store which is close to my home and got my bottles.
I was rolling out sausage balls to bake while watching this. Sausage balls are way easy to make and freeze fairly well, and make a great holiday or other gathering appetizer.
I love you and your videos! You are so real and you have brilliant content that is made even better by a great personality! Keep up the good work. I always look forward to your videos!
Same Speedy, I would try to eat a cookies too. 😄🍪😋 Your consistent videos help me be productive and/or keep me company as I’m in the kitchen or doing laundry. Especially on days I don’t really feel like doing much because of a migraine. Thank you for all that you do with your humor, keeping it real rational, and frugal ways because it’s great to same money and time.
I watch you while I do school work and while I clean. I will say I have learned some AMAZING tips from you and have started the process of changing my husband and my financial situation and goals. Love watching you and keep the tips coming!!!
For feta try a cows milk feta , it’s milder . It’s ironic I find goat cheese very strong and not a fan of it , our neighbors had a stinky male goat and I find goat cheese tastes like they smell . I buy feta in the 1 kg tubs from Costco,we use it on everything.
You always make meal prep look so easy! I need to get some of those meal prep freezer pans. I end up using my glassware and can only do 2 meals at a time.
How much do you pay for your aluminum pans? Do you get a lot of use out of them? My family LOVES pasta. Especially my husband! I love how you dress up the pasta sauce. I always fine the store brand pasta sauces to be soo bland

This is the best comment. I so know what you mean.
I think you would also enjoy watching Moss Family TV. Such a kind family.
Love your comments!❤️
I love how nothing goes to waste in your house.
grated onion helps keep turkey burgers moist. Yep, moist.
I use the Americas Test Kitchen recipe. They put Panko, soy sauce, parmesan and little unflavored gelatin in them. They turn out great!
I like to add water to fill up half the jar, put the lid back on and shake like crazy to get it all out!
I do the same! 😁
I’ve been refreshing all morning waiting for my morning date with Christine lol
Same! Haha.
Same!!
I just want to say that when you were yelling at speedy, I got an ad for dog training LOL
😄😄😄
😆
Lol
Have you ever considered making a frugal cook book?
That would be pretty awesome.
She should 😀
I would buy it.
I can't tell you all how glad I am that she finally made some freezer meals. I'm stuffed from trying to eat all this food! Vlogmas is making my clothes shrink. 😂
I loved when she gave you the cookie! You two are the cutest! 😊
I'm glad you're taking one for the team so we can enjoy all these great vlogmas videos. Lol.
Im considering making a heck ton of these freezer type meals for when I'm down and not able to cook when we have our newborn coming in later April/early May! Like I'm about to go on a youtube binge watching all your videos. lol
I would love to have a t-shirt that says "doobaleedo" on it and see how many fans stop me to ask where i got it!!! Lol!!! Love that word!!!
I'd buy it!
Yes!
Boy, that’s a lot of cooking, goodness. Glad I don’t cook for so many people. I don’t have that much energy. More power to u Christine.
Hahahaha. I love how Dave is your tester and he ALWAYS loves everything you make 😁
Is it just me or how many people love the fact that she actually freezes the crumbs too!!! That's awesome....
No Kidding! I would have just eaten them! :)
Heck ya!!! Waist not want not use what I always told my son!! Lol she gets it! Haha
The challenges when it becomes waist not!
A quick tip for getting all the sauce out of the jar. Put the lid back on after adding a little water and shake it up. You'll get the extra off the lid as well as the sides of the jar.
I've never seen peppers cut that way to make stuffed peppers, I'll have to try that.
I have started every day of December with frugal fit mom videos with my morning coffee. Got worried about you this morning. I kept checking for a video.
I love when you surprise family members with food. Their expressions are the best.
Love how excited Dave gets about food!
When you were stirring the macaroni and I didn’t get to see the smiley face on the purple spoon I died a little inside 😰
My Dad used to attatch the kitchen scissors to the kitchen drawer with wire...
All Moms lose the kitchen scissors. Found a trick: magnet it to the side of the fridge
They never look there
Then, buy them scissors for Xmas
Lol
great idea, thanks!
We own about 30 pair of scissors. They are ALL always missing. I still don't know how 🤷♀️ the magnet trick worked for me, almost. I kept the same pair for almost two weeks before I found them outside where my husband was working on his truck 🙃 😳
I got some magnetic hooks from the dollar store and they live on my fridge to hold scissors.
Or make it a rule that kid scissors stay with school supplies for hw and mom scissors are moms
My are on the side of my fridge for about 4 years. This works beautifully.

I love watching Dave enjoy your baked goods 🥰 he is so happy and appreciative of the goods.
Thank you for including how you reheat the meals! I see a lot of freezer meal videos but then never know how to cook them after they're frozen!
I’m soooo going to steal that idea of premaking cookies and freezing them. I’m working so much next week but ill be able to make the cookie dough this weekend! Brilliant.
Your and Dave's relationship and interactions always makes me laugh! Lots of great ideas. Definitely trying the frozen french toast!
You can’t talk kids out of eating!! I tried!!🤣🤣🤣✌🏽
I really like these ideas. I gotta start making my own freezer meals instead of buying them all the time
I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old. I feel like all they do is eat. They get 3 meals AND 3 heavy snacks per day. Great idea to meal prep so you don't have to cook over Christmas break! Love the easy recipes too!
The overnight french toast looks next level! One of the best tricks I learned for juicy turkey burgers is to form the patties around a little butter
Making Christmas Gifts while watching Christine!
I would do a bag of those cookies for a Christmas gift. Even a meal as a gift.
I love your ‘Friends’ shirt!! And you and Dave are just so cute 🤗 Thanks for the ideas!!

Hi Sheila
How’re you doing?
Thank you. I need to make those stuffed peppers. Memories flood me from when my Mom would make them. So Yummy!!!
I think you made the fruit mixture for the French toast and another video before, I tried it and it was good
Ok I see what I was doing wrong... not cooking my peppers first!! Or cutting them in half!! My mom made it whole ans that’s fine but the peppers took soooo long to cook!

Glad you like them!
I been really implementing these and they remind me of my struggling college days very nostalgic. I love bringing it back to basics Im saving for a house now and these budget tips really help.
I'll admit to not really being a fan of stuffed peppers. But I love getting ideas of things I can do for freezer meals for these long winter days.
Those stuffed peppers looked awesome and so did that French toast I definitely will try both of those recipes because I like making freezer meals also
Your cooking vids are my favorite. :) And yyyaaasss, girl, taco meat in the freezer is like the spice of an easier life!!
My there year old LOVES you. She asks for "the lady that cooks"

I would have put the leg quarters straight into the bags w the oil and seasoning. Mixing in the bag.😉
I am going to do some freezer meals for the next week or so too! Thanks for the ideas!!!
We have a sharps and none sharps drawer. That way, we'll never lose kitchen scissors
I can't believe I missed this the day it dropped but I think it was meant to be. Yesterday I was scheduled for surgery in January and this morning it dawned on me that I will need to batch cook and make freezer meals. So I'm sitting here with my notepad on ideas for this I can make.

Bringing Dave a cookie without a plate to eat on the couch shows how much you really love him lol.
Me and my cat Smokey watch all your videos we love u 😘
😭😭😭 I was looking forward to you slicing your peppers - you have a skill!! Don’t rush it lol. That elbow pasta looked amazing!
Yay, I was just looking to see if you posted for today!
I officially need to make those cookies ASAP! Also, where do you get your disposable freezer pans with the lids? I have never seen them like that... and I love that!
They are from Sam's Club!
Loooove bread pudding! Make a simple vanilla custard sauce for it. DELICIOUS!
Yeh, every time I do chicken quarters, it's like there's never much meat on it. So I just end up getting rotisserie chickens. It just seems easier.
Love the white chocolate cranberry oatmeal cookies. Always make them for Christmas because they are pretty!

The filled pepers look amazing! Definitely going to try to make something similar. They don't sell ground chorizo here so I'll just diy that part.
Same Speedy, I would try to eat a cookies too. 😄🍪😋
Your consistent videos help me be productive and/or keep me company as I’m in the kitchen or doing laundry. Especially on days I don’t really feel like doing much because of a migraine. I kept thinking your camera was falling with those shot transitions 😂😂 love these ideas!
It's about $7 for 36 pans!
Kept checking for today's video I love them xx
