    Three incredible musicians, having fun with tune called "I've Found a New Baby".

    I’ve seen tommy jam with so many people that have their own specialty like blues, jazz, gypsy, and he always holds his own and sometimes outplays these people in their own style. It’s why he is truly the master.

    Before Rory and Jeff there was Thumbs Carlisle playing guitar laying it on his lap. He was quite good. Played with Roger Miller and others.
    Jack Pearson here on the left is a former member of the Allman Brothers Band, and a master at his craft.

    That was amazing playing from all three guys there. Rory Hoffman - What an achievement from some one who does it all by feel and intuition. Tommy Emmanuel - is there anything he plays where he does not look like a natural. He plays this style like it's his main thing, like he is top of this genre....but it is just another style he can play to the highest level. Just amazing.

    In terms of learning the song on the fly: chord progressions and changes are fairly straight forward. Back in the days they were using fairly similar turn arounds and patterns. But never the less: I could NOT do it and of course it shows his master class.
    But even more than his musical talent and abilities I am always stunned by his positive attitude and the joy he is bringing to the table!

      I would disagree. I wont get into the pointless semantics of debating who is the best, as each of them have extremely great styles and polished techniques, but are from entirely different backgrounds. You can see it in their meathod and hear it in the sound.
      But to play devils advocate and embrace hypocrisy, the bling guys lapsteel style of easily the most limiting, in terms of using the guitars total versatility.
      Perhaps, im dead wrong, because this is my first introduction to him, but he would probably have a tough time w complex jazz progressions.

    Musicians who have any experience playing jazz don't generally think in terms of single chords but chord progression (or cadences). Even songs that might have loads of chords are quite easy to remember since you've played similar chord progressions a thousand times before in other tunes. This tune is very traditional and as such not hard to learn for an experienced musician.

    • @MajRatbag
      @MajRatbag 6 лет назад

      Yes somewhat similar to the myth of improvisation in that they have all played it many times before but not necessarily in that particular order. Its a bit like explaining something to someone, you have spoken all the words many times before but on the fly you are creating a sentence using those familiar words and putting them together to form a sentence you have never spoken before, simple as that. :)
