The new trains really improved the ride so much. I rode it last May (also in the front row) and was shocked how much better it is now!

Yeah this is a great coaster now with the new trains! The back is so good, only super rough and painful part is the dive loop in the back row.
Shawn the knowledge you have with these rides and Theme Parks is incredible! You have shown things I didn’t even know existed! I just call them Rollercoasters but you know all the different names and you mentioned the helix turn in this video and I have never heard of it. I last rode it around 20 years ago and it truly was a NYC experience ...mugging/robbery by thugs with baseball bats! No re-rides for me back then but now it looks great, good job! Also, I really enjoy watching Charlotte's reaction to the whole Vegas experience, I'm really loving this whole video series!

@@coasterkarl1022 I'm not completely cynical ... Speed was pretty cool at the Sahara with that Mr. Freeze launch, though not quite as intense! (And 10 bucks a ride!)

The coaster looks amazing. The hotel is jam packed full of entertainment it seems. Charlotte could have worn her sunglasses indoors, with all those bedazzling lights, it's brighter than outside in there😄. Another good vlog guys. I'm thoroughly enjoying this journey with you both 😍

Loving your Las Vegas vlogs, especially as it's my most favourite place to holiday. I've only been 4 times but each time i check in to my hotel and then go to the Hotel New York New York straight away to get on the coaster! Great way of getting rid of jetlag !!!

We stayed there in 2017 and were able to get a free ride as we had a room at New York New York. We found it rough so good to know they have upgraded the trains and it's much smoother. Enjoying the US vlogs.

I’m glad you all reviewed this coaster. I rode it one time when I was bout 16 (it was only $8 to ride back then) and it gave me such a banging headache back then. I might give it another go round next time I’m in Vegas thanks to this video.
I had no idea they redid this and I visit Vegas several times a year. I hated this before but now want to make sure I give this another chance during my next visit to Vegas.

Damn if they weren't so ridiculously aggressive on the trim there would have been some great airtime.
It looks so much smoother than when I rode it in 2008... it was in top 3 worst ever coasters for me then.. I might actually bother to re-ride it one of these days now.
I mean you could feel even through the screen how much better it was. If one could get a ride without those trims biting so hard it might actually be a good coaster lol.

We went in 2019, first night we went to the arcade and bought a package which included coaster tickets, arcade credits, hit dog and a t shirt! Didn’t do the coaster on the first night as it was actually raining! Second chance we got it was down for maintenance and didn’t get the chance on the last two days. The guy said the ticket was valid indefinitely so next time we go we will take the tickets! Looks great though!

WOW! That is really a shock to hear this coaster is now a smooth and an enjoyable ride. I rode it around the last time you did (probably 7-8 years ago) and I swore I would never set foot on that miserable beast again. After that ride I felt like you do when you spend 1 hour riding a subway in Manhattan in the summer (ie, beat up, battered, bruised & bothered).
Pro tip: front row. It'll blow your mind. Rest of the rows can still beat you up a little.

Was in vegas last week and road this and it was a lot smoother than I expected
i rode that ride in june 2002 on a scorching hot day aswell it was great i was staying at excalibre opposite at the time and was able to watch people go on the ride while i was sunbathing around the pool. there was another great rollercoaster i went on aswell at the sahara hotel cant remember the name of it but was really fast then you came back in reverse lol good video thanks for the memories

I feel like you are literally paying to become a showpiece to draw people in, and those people will eventually draw more people in! The circle of life (or profit). Las Vegas looks like a great place to go, I’d love it if all the hotels had rollercoasters to draw people in.
I rode it in 2001. Very bumpy ride it was with the original set of trains. It was 10 dollars then.

Hi there,
The reason Hersheys chocolate tastes 'different' to English is because originally a batch of milk arrived late. This was 'off' but to save wasting it and of course money they used it. This is well known and gives it the unique flavour. Now don't get me wrong....I really love their peanut butter cups......just don't let myself be put off. 😁
PS. Just, maybe..........the 'Comfort' ride safety straps are a little loose to allow larger Americans to fit better fill them 😂😂

i was supposed to be going vegas last year for my 21st but got canceled cause of the pandemic so i got my money back and booked new york for my sisters 21st this year and I'm going Orlando again for the 4th time cant wait to go to new york because it will be my first time their in new york.

Even though it's probably not operating I'd check out Desperado in Prim Nevada; Arrow's longest and tallest creation ever built. When it opened in 1994 it also tied with the biggest drop record of 225' Steel Phantom (now Phantom's Revenge by Morgan when they took the inversions out) had established in 1991 when it opened.
That's 20' MORE than The Big One at Blackpool, which only has a 205' drop. Not to worry: the back car of one or two of Icon's trains will spin. Now if they could only do that with Helix...
In any case: You like Big Apple coaster so you should ride it again in the back; it'd only have been another $10. That'd also be cheaper than riding it three times or even four times.

I rode this in 2011 and felt like I sustained a concussion. I rode it again in 2021 with the new Premier trains and only had a slight headache. It’s better than before but hardly smooth ride. How unfortunate because it’s a pretty good layout!!!

Hum, that's weird I wouldn't expect the trains to make that big of a difference. Like where you go into the dive after the zero g-roll felt like a car wreck. It always seemed to me it was the track, but guess I was wrong! Nonetheless glad to hear it's riding well, thanks for the POV!

Great ride with those new trains. I last rode it in 2004 and it was rough. Love Hotel New York New York although never stayed there. Just to let you know my home town of Great Yarmouth; The Pleasure Beach has a new ride brought in from Margate...

Edit: didn’t know about the new trains. It used to feel like riding on a city bus, on a street full of potholes.
I guess you can class this ride as a Hypercoaster with its 203ft lift hill, despite the fact that its first drop is only 144ft! That dive loop and track profiling is odd though. Still a lot of fun!

I hope you guys go to the Santa Cruz boardwalk. They have a great wooden coaster! It’s small, but it packs a nice punch. There are also two amusement parks to visit. Not far away in San Jose.
Unfortunately we won’t be this trip however it’ll be on the cards for my next trip to this area!
