  • Hi. First, thank you to everyone who has subscribed - it truly means a lot. And, all the great comments.
Second, this session was really significant because I didn’t like the board (initially) because it flexed too much and seemed too loose. This session, I really liked it because my skill & understanding of basic fundamentals of foot placement and waiting for the turn was all it took.
Really enjoying the fun in simple techniques and best of all get to enjoy it with my buddy, Hector.

Holy crap you got a lot of boards! Did I see a couple of surf skates in there? I picked one up a few months ago, Carver CX's, tons of fun.Looks like ya'll were having fun, keep it going and congrats on the subs, I added one 😎🤙🤙

Haha, yes and surf skates, too. Got the two sets C-7 trucks and full board set up Carver CX. So helpful in body balance, awareness and moving upper body to assist in downhill skills. So fun.

I respect the work you are putting.
I also have a board addiction 😂. I just started a show and tell series. Plan is to share all my boards over the next year. They all have a purpose, well there are some art wall hangers too.
    Stay rad Sir.

Your form is getting better. You still need to try to keep that front foot planted. Keep your butt almost above the board (not as far away as you're having it now); it should help you keep your front foot planted. Also try to use your core to keep your hand from getting pulled too far away from the front left wheel; it will also help to keep your front foot planted.
    Keep it up!
Now for your friend, at 1:14 his front wheels actually started swinging back. If he had more speed or had a slipperier condition (either thru slidier wheels or road wetness), then the front truck could've completed the pendulum motion and brought him back to his normal Goofy stance.

Awesome and thank you so much on the great advice - for both of us. Your encouragement keeps us both going and it is truly a privilege to have someone like you that supports us. 🙇🏻‍♂️🤙
Oddly, the simplicity of core muscles or any muscles in the movements makes so much sense. I feel like a relaxed jelly fish so need to tighten / contract / use functional muscles.

What's the name of board, you are using in this video? 😊

Sharkwheel land shark, I think. It came with the shark wheels, but upgraded to ceramic bearings, Sector 9 butterballs wheels and bushings actually this weekend.

I'm curious, how much are you skating around without practicing slides? Are you doing a lot of regular skating / cruising where you work on your turns and your maneuverability?

    • @cantskate5535
      @cantskate5535  2 месяца назад

Using the Carver board and trucks, and cruising almost every day without videoing. Time has been increased the most this past month which started with simple cruising.

Your both trying to run before you can walk. Take at least 6 months or more and learn how to be completely comfortable and proficient on a skateboard. Learn how to stand correctly and carve properly, push and foot brake. All on the flat. Or very little decline. It will help greatly for when the time is right to learn freeride/sliding. I understand your both new to a skateboard. It shows even when your standing on it. But take my advice and you will be glad you did. Im 49, street skated as a teen ,now im freeride skateboarding

Thank you and commendable at 49. Yes, understanding we’re rushing into it - now -which is leading to the inconsistent progression. We’re enjoying the Carver board & trucks which is helping us feel more comfortable with some body awareness.

This is solid advice, but you have to admit that practicing slides is what keeps people coming out to skate. Ideally they would learn to cruise first, but if they are skating then it doesn't really matter why.

you fall to the ground only because you have no mobility and therefore cannot get into the right position. Practice the Coleman position at home. Mobility is key

Your hand is way too far back from your front foot. That is why your body falls behind your board. It should feel like you are just sitting down and not force it too slide. Carve more and when you place your hand to the ground keep your elbow next to your hips and hand infront of front foot. The board will slide automaticly.

    • @cantskate5535

Thank you and makes sense. I feel like I’m straining too much with too much weight on my hand. Will focus more on good balance on the board, steer then hand placement.
