For a $30 game, this is some of the best value you'll ever get in a game. It's as deep and complex and some "Triple A" games. The game will definitely scare you if you allow yourself to get sucked into the atmosphere. The story itself is interested but a bit confusing. The mystery of it keeps you interested throughout, but even at the end I'm not sure I entirely understand everything that was going on. I feel like if you enjoyed the first game, then you'll definitely love this one.
As always we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. With most horror games, we let the scenes play out a little longer than with different genres. We feel like it helps build the tension, plus we don't want to just cut to every little scare because then you as the viewer would know when to expect a scare. So we tried to switch it up and leave in some of quieter ambient moments. We hope you enjoy!

Even though this has the "Wrong Turn and The Hills Have Eyes" feel, I still prefer the original game. Just my opinion, does anyone else feel this way or am I alone?

Not all endings have a good end especially a one and only you dead-dead end.
Game companies wanted to give you good endings may it be to convey a message that matches with the ending, but most importantly they want you to feel a sense of accomplishment. This reward system that our brain has would want to buy more games.
Life or game, not everything has that happy ending, at least not in a single universe and only being seen in a single perspective. If you hate the game for not giving you that good ending then I do not object. We are hard-wired for that. Just you know the developers knew this too they want you to have a good story where things are not always dandy. They knew that this step may lose them customers but they did it anyway.

I honestly think Outlast 2 is a good game that needs more appreciation than criticism. It's not good as the first outlast but still worth the Play.

1. Those who didn't fully understand the plot (maybe because they didn't find/read all the documents or didn't pay enough attention to some relevant dialogues between the characters) or rather thought this was just a usual ordinary horror game in which religious zealots wished to kill you for some godforsaken reason;
2. Those who detested the chases sections and found them repetitive and frustrating (so much as to label the game as a fully-fledged running simulator)

outlast did well for an indie game.
Well, seems that they were all have the same hallucination and when Lynn was having her least breath she sees that there is no storm. Blake however still has hallucinations and as he feels guilty for Jess death, he is seemingly forever trapped in his own fantasy.

This is more a look at religion when it's abused for power and people are blind to it's actual teachings. Which for certain has happened and still happens but shouldn't be broad stroked like how this game portrays it.
Eric F very good point but also we should be careful who we try to not be broad stroking because if your not careful you could end up 6 feet under.
The problem is not the religion itself... Unless it is Islam... But it's when people use it to ruin peoples lives. For example, I am a Christian, but I'm not a part of specific group because I don't see necessity if following dogmas. I had a heavy argument with a group of catholics two weeks ago about them putting the Papa in the same position of God, saying that everything and anything he does is right. And this kind of stuff is really bad, because someone by putting him/herself in a godlike position it allows to use people's faith for personal gains.
Pretty good gameplay...sad that Lynn and Blake couldn't get out together, RiP.

Actually, scrap the summary and just tell me WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THIS GAME!? IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE SOME CRAZY ASS FORM OF RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISM, A COMMENTARY ON RADICAL BELIEF, WHAT!?
Outlast 1 and Whistleblower are the same game. The dude from Whistlebower send an email to the journalist from Outlast to investigate the psychiatric hospital in which the scientist from the corporation were making experiments with the interns. Outlast '1 and Whistlblower happens at the same time. In Outlast 1, the journalist dies and becomes the host for the organism the scientist created, and at the end of Whistlebower the dude who sent the journalist an email is able to survive and reveals what they'be been doing.
About Outlast 2, from my point of view it seems a criticism to the use of religion make terrible things with people instead of giving them hope and purpose.
And I thought the first outlast was f#cked up!!!
So in the end we understand that it began the apocalips?

ShahRukh Vhora very... interesting very sad that that was the ending though... i wanted Lynn to at least survive. But I guess that's the fatherly side of me rather having my wife and child live while I die than for me and my child to live while my wife dies. It's very saddening but this whole spin of religion does take rather dark and disturbing aspects of all religions but it has less to do with religion and more to do with religious figure heads like father knoth who abuse their position as a leader for selfishness and personal desires where he raped many women murdered many more who disagree with his saying and preaches. Religions where there is a single figure head who can easily abuse their power and knowledge for such things. We actually see this happening through actual religions throughout history with Muslims Jews and even Christianity but that doesn't mean the belief itself is bad because they speak good aspects and moral based principles(not talking about the religion they have in the game) but I do find this game very interesting. I give it 9/10

Idk if you guys noticed this, but at 1:25:12, Lynn's missing an arm and two legs.
She isn't missing anything. Her right arm is covered in shadow (hand can be seen in the light). Her legs are also suspended so her body forms a U shape which hides her legs from that angle.

You're missing a lot of key elements of the game. When you record certain things you should review them because Blake says things that are relevant.

I just downloaded this game last night on PS4. It's free this month on PS Plus. And I couldn't do it. Way too scary for me. I don't get scared easily but this game ended up getting to me. That and I don't like rape crap or not being able to fight at all.

No.. there is no solid proof Blake died or alive. Also, it wasn't nuclear explosion. The fact that it was a radio tower being torn apart by Walrider and his army of ants. Murkoff Corporation was doing "MKULTRA" type on the whole settlement as experiment.
The ants completely swarm and destroy the tower, causing the microwaves to malfunction and engulf the radio towers in a flash of light. The whole thing that Blake saw since the beginning was hallucination.

basically the people in the village knew that lynn was pregnant and because of their religion somehow believed it was the antichrist. Blake went to a catholic school im guessing and has religious trauma because of what happened to jessica .
Honestly, with the setting and the way they told the story, they would have been better off just saying "Fuck the Murkov plotline," and making the game about the apocalypse like they made you think they were gonna do.
