Dead Space is a game that came out of nowhere and was good enough to spawn several additions to the franchise. The game does a great job of creating an eerie atmosphere and can be genuinely creepy at times. The game is not extremely cinematic, since most of the story is told through video and audio logs, but it is a good story nonetheless.
The story is set in the year 2508, and begins when the USG Ishimura, a "planetcracker" starship (designed to extract ore in large masses of billions of tons), sends out a distress signal to the Concordance Extraction Corporation (CEC) during a mining operation on the planet Aegis VII. The CEC dispatches the USG Kellion to investigate. After a guidance system malfunction crashes the Kellion into the Ishimura dock, the crew tries to seek other means of transport. As they explore what appears to be an abandoned ship, they are attacked by grotesque monsters, killing off all but ship systems engineer Isaac Clarke, Commander Zach Hammond, and Computer Specialist Kendra Daniels. Hammond notices that many of the ship's systems are failing; he and Kendra direct and assist Isaac in fixing them to keep them alive for rescue
As always, we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to create a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

Kendra fights and accuses Hammond throughout the entire game. Insinuates to leave and abandon him multiple times, easily accepts he could be dead (almost hoping) whenever he's not around.
Probably tried killing him by remotely jamming his comm's end. (She could've been the only one to do it, and has the strongest motive)
When Hammond finally dies (for real this time) Kendra: "Oh no, I was just reading his vitals as they went out! Is he dead? Oh nooooooo... Well, it's just us now, Issac..."

I'm a cosmetologist, trade school, THAT would be a game...throwing hair dryers and shit, but we got scissors and they are sharp so...idk according to this game I got a fair chance.

I mean to be fair the technology pretty much does everything for him, you just put it into a washing machine and press a button.
so let me get this straight, a few engineers can fight off necromorphs but a whole "military" ship crew cant?
Urban Turban probably cuz either it was a suprise. Or the millitary didnt know to shoot them in their limbs and died or they were running out on resorces to survive
Crew used normal bullets without the knowledge of how to kill Necromorphs, Engineers had plasma cutters and weren't overrun as quickly as the crew
ye they didn't know to dismember them and they used bullets not plasma weapons as well as being unperpared.
Its better explained if you watched dead space downfall
Urban Turban Shooting the limbs is the only way to kill a Necromorph, at least canonically. In the game, you can eventually kill them by not shooting the limbs, but it takes like 10 times the amount of ammo (aka all of your clip), when shooting the limbs takes even less time, less health lost, and more ammo left. I like to think that the Necromorphs, simply the basic ones, have a massive health pool on Easy, like, around 3000, and your gun does a basic 10 damage. But if you shoot the limbs, it multiplies the damage by like, I don't know, over 1000 times the damage. Makes sense with canon too.
Every ship Isaac is in will explode, every way to escape or door will collapse and result in a massive setback, Isaac constantly has to go out of his way to fix machines he has to use, go through broken elevators, find a different route, all while trying not to be ripped apart. Give this man a medal damn.

I'll never forget that run to the elevator. I was so scared at the time. Admittedly though I just hate being chased by creepy monsters in video games.

I don't hate them and actually like them because I don't complain about everything that doesn't matter like it matters the world.
Probably my least favorite thing about this game. It got tedious really fast. "So go to this part of the ship, and btw gotta pass through the morgue like 15 times, and try to not get ripped apart, eaten, or transformed by the most dangerous enemies ever..."

Man Dead Space 1/2 were amazing. 3 not so much, but whatever... it's still alright.
DS 3 wasn't a horror game anymore, but still made quite some fun.

I really like the character design of Isaac. Lots of games go over the top with trying to make the protagonist look badass and what not but Isaac is literally just a simple engineer with a somewhat generic face. An engineer tryna save his wifey.

Did you see where this one is getting a complete makeover for new gen consoles. I can’t wait for it. I fell in love with this series after playing this one. I even liked the third installment unlike most people. The first one is an absolute masterpiece of survival horror in my opinion though.

I just recently finished this game and it was awesome. There is just one thing that kind of bugs me though. (Spoilers ahead for those who haven't played it.). You learn at the end that Nicole killed herself long before Isaac even came aboard, and that he was hallucinating all the times he saw her. However when we first encounter Nicole face to face in the game, she uses a computer to unlock a door for Isaac, and gets attacked by Necromorphs doing it. How could either of those happen, if she wasn't real?

Some people seem to have a problem with de-syncing audio. Not sure what's going on, there is a part where it does de-sync for a couple of seconds on my end, but the rest of the video is fine for me. Maybe if it desyncs skip ahead for a couple of secs and it fixes itself on the reload? Not sure

@@D_Thang honestly the dumbest one would be Hammond, since he used the pod instead of, you know, opening it and letting Isaac handle the necro since it was obvious by that point that Isaac was very good at killing them. Caused a very unnecessary catastrophe by launching that pod.

I think you could've done it better with some scenes of the aliens killing unboard people. You usually just walked pass it and missed all of it.

I remember playing this for the first time all alone at home. Was in the 11th grade at the time. Got scared shitless but that made me play the game more. Miss proper survival horror games like dead space.
I wish they would make more games like dead space, 2 was my favorite by far just because it was bigger and more "fluid" then the first.

The fact that Isaac Clarke and Lexine Weller haven't met just angers me, Gabe Weller knew about Isaac but never met him in person and now probably never will.

When a band of engineers in this game and a few survivors from extraction kill more necromorphs nd somehow manage to survive even more than the entire Ishimura 1k+ personnel crew and the entire colony on the planet
The necromorphs are half the problem. Dementia is what kills most people there
the red marker caused most the population on the colony to start killing each other. Afterwards the Necromorphs killed the rest. On the ishumura the unitologists made it difficult for survivors not to mention most were unarmed in tight corridors. And yes the red marker inducing insanity, dementia, hallucinations, and paranoia caused many survivors to be killed as well. It is believed that quite a number of survivors were still alive once Issac and the crew boarded the ishumura but over the course of the game that number dwindled quite alot.
When my brother and I played dead space we were surprised that Isaac didn't speak and then when we played the second and third I was shook that he spoke very often. And now for some unknown reason my brother is convinced that he spoke the entire time!?

One of the coolest things about dead space is that it has no cut scenes. All of the Interactions are in game. A shame EA killed it.
