I got pleasantly surprised when it came time for the bean salad That is because I recognised the cracker things you were not able to name. I am from Sweden and I believe that the brand you use is as well. In Sweden we call those crackers ”Knäckebröd” That roughly translates to “crisp bread” which is what we (or at least me and my English teacher) call it when speaking English
hear me out... so i get these oat cluster things from the grocery store, theyre like oats and nuts and other good stuff all stuck together and i basically put those and 2 tablespoons of high protein peanut butter into a bowl and microwave it then mix it all up it tastes so fucking good i swear
Love these meals! I'm studying in the Netherlands and we eat with at least 5 people everyday so our meals are more family style (like every type of food you can imagine) but these are nice for when you eat on your own!
I really wanna share my perfect recipe for breakfast: I soak oat with almond milk, put them into microwave for about 2 min in 65°C, which makes the oat sucks milk and softens. While waiting oat, i omelette 2 eggs to add more protein. Finally, i add soy sauce into the surface of oat and eat it with eggs, perfect and easiest breakfast for me 🥰
this is an amazing idea. However when I was a college student I didn't have access to a stove let alone pots and pans. If I couldn't do it in a microwave I couldn't do it at all. That's honestly something I feel all of these types of broke college student videos forget. You have to have the utilities to do things. And for a large portion of college students (especially the ones who'd be looking at this type of stuff) they don't
They don't forget. They just understand that not everyone is American and fucked as a student. Where I live for example all students at least have a kitchen. There is more to the world than America sorry
honestly if you dont have a stove, get yourself a good little rice cooker and an electric kettle. both are usually allowed and will save your life wrt cooking food - u can cook a lot more than just rice in a rice cooker!
Well... as I am currently trying to keep my budget more in balance, this piece of information seems to be coming at the perfect timing (although it's been somewhere about 30 years ago since I was a college student). Also, one of the daily habits that I am trying to stick to - and I hate to admit that I don't always succeed to do so - is: 4 colours on the plate. You seem to be doing a good job also that. Keep it up!
Tip from someone who worked in a sandwich shop: if you’re too lazy to heat the tortilla in a skillet (like me) or don’t have a clean pan, microwaving it for 10 second will do the same thing. Also sauces are everything, don’t take much time to make, and are simpler than you think.
I really like your videos, and these recipes are real good, nutricious tasty and easy :D The only thing I would advice is, use what you have. I sometimes get some ingredients that I dont really use that much and they end up going bad. So, even if that means cooking the same food a couple of times, you should all do what you can with what you have. Search for recipes, improvise, try to have fun and try to not overwhelm yourself ^^
As a true broke college student, here's my routine: 1. I dont eat breakfast since I'm broke and I don't have time. 2. For lunch I eat an apple with a banana or maybe another small fruit. 3. No money for snacks mostly. I am broke, remember? 4. For dinner I cook rice with some curry (which I made a few days ago and eat for 2-3 days). That's a real broke college student routine.
The only change I would make is marinating the tofu during lunch time in something like dark soy, light soy and anything else cuz I feel tofu is just a bit too bland even when seasoned heavily
Great video, looks so delicious. As a person that doesn't like oats with yoghurt, I suggest oats soaked in hot water, and then adding the grated apple, cinamon and honey. IT'S AMAZING
When dicing a tomato, I like to start with slicing it in half then scooping out the wet parts, like scooping out the pulp and seeds from a pumpkin. It makes for a less messy Pico that keeps it fresh and lasting maybe 3 days longer than usual.
Hey guys, not sure if anyone's already mentioned this, but for the tofu you should get soft/silken tofu because if you get firm tofu it won't crumble like that! Take it from someone that learned the hard way aha
I came across this video, and the recipes are very useful. They are easy to make and, as a bonus, really delicious. I've watched many videos like this, but the recipes were complicated and ingredients weren't affordable. But these meals are perfect because you don't have to spend a lot of time cooking . Tofu noodles are the best!! Thank you for your help
Marinade thin slices of chicken breast, i do it with soy sauce and bbq. The you can cook the two at a time in an air fryer, and eat it with kuskus, which you mix with boiling water and cover for 5 minutes (1.25 water per kuskus). Eat it with a cucumber and there you go. For breakfast you can buy/ prep shakshuka sauce. Makes it a 10 min prep.
As italian sometimes I'm shock from what people eat when they are "busy" or "don't have time to cook". Our "easy meals" are often other country "fancy meals" Edit: I'm not speaking about u KWOOWK, u are great. Love ur videos
Get yourself a sandwich maker, it’s a lifesaver! If you put lettuce and vegetables on the toast it’s healthy and in general it’s really quick and easy! For breakfast I often do porridge (just soak oats in water for a few minutes and heat it up) with greek yogurt with cinnamon and whatever fruits I have chopped on top of it. I eat way too much pasta! A favorite recipe of mine: cook your favorite type of pasta and throw some whole tomatoes in the pot with it, crush the tomatoes when putting it on the plate and add cheese, olive oil and some spices. I’m from Germany and we eat lotsa bread! Not the toast-ish American kind, real healthy bread. It’s quick and healthy! We call dinner “Abendbrot” - evening bread. I love eating it with cheese and cucumber or cottage cheese for example. Another great recipe is baked potato. Cut some potatoes (or just use small ones) and put them in the oven with some oil mixed with spices. A great addition is slices of pumpkin. It takes a while for it to be done, but the preparation is really easy. For the sauce I mix yoghurt with powdered paprika, honey and the left over spice oil. Rosemary is great for this one! You can even grow it yourself if you feel motivated to keep a plant alive.
I tried eating overnight oats once and I had one of the worse stomach pains ever for the rest of the day. I can’t imagine what would happen if I ate oats that are pretty much raw.
Today I tried the oats and they are freaking amazing. They're easy to make, delicious and lowkey healthy. The only thing that I would change is that I will soak the oats for 20-30 minutes, but I think it's more of a preference thing so try soaking it for different amount of time and see what works for you.
Think your definition of cheap is flawed...$6.25 a day is $43.75 a week on groceries. I have a budget of less than $15 a week on groceries. These meals aren't sustainable at all
In the location he’s filming these a meal at Mac Donald’s would be 10-15$ the majority of food you can get easy to eat is either not healthy or expensive
There are many "simple" recipes that list dozens of seasonings. Glad that you keep using the same ingredients. The main issue is students do not have enough time to prepare all ingredients, not enough space to store the ingredients, and oftenly too much ingredients means most of them will be expired as we don't cook often.
I'm not a college student anymore, but as a mother of a toddler I am here for the "30 min or less" part 🤣
Hahaha nicee

That roughly translates to “crisp bread” which is what we (or at least me and my English teacher) call it when speaking English
True, over here in Malaysia we call them crispbread.
in Austria/Germany we call it Knäckebrot
We also have these in the Netherlands and we also call them knäckebröd. Which is Swedish so we can’t pronounce it right lol
Skål mannen försöker också hitta hälsosamma måltider nu med inflationen som ökat priset. Fan hemskt just nu
Knekkebrød here in Norway
Please do more of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're amazing. Your video made my day today.
hear me out...
so i get these oat cluster things from the grocery store, theyre like oats and nuts and other good stuff all stuck together and i basically put those and 2 tablespoons of high protein peanut butter into a bowl and microwave it then mix it all up
it tastes so fucking good i swear
@5:54 To keep the knife sharp it is best to use the noncutting edge of the knife when sweeping chopped foods.
thanks for the tip
”I also add some cinnamon to add the taste of cinnamon” 😂😂😭
Love these meals! I'm studying in the Netherlands and we eat with at least 5 people everyday so our meals are more family style (like every type of food you can imagine) but these are nice for when you eat on your own!
oh man at last a cooking video that does not obsess about eggs. I personally hate the taste of eggs, and that's why I love your meal ideas!
“The pan is ready to recieve your noods” 😂 8:00
I love your simple yet healthy recipes! 😊 This motivates me to learn how to cook 💛
The best cooking videos! No boring mix and stir. Love you rhymes 😁
I love how your content just gets better and better
the wrap is so easy yet so good omg thank you
I really wanna share my perfect recipe for breakfast: I soak oat with almond milk, put them into microwave for about 2 min in 65°C, which makes the oat sucks milk and softens. While waiting oat, i omelette 2 eggs to add more protein. Finally, i add soy sauce into the surface of oat and eat it with eggs, perfect and easiest breakfast for me 🥰
Please explain how the fuck soy sauce with oats is a good idea 😭
@@4rdency soy sauce goes well with almost everything i have to say 😂
a junior high school student here, this helped as a lazy young woman who is too shy to ask anyone to cook for me
this is an amazing idea.
You'll notice he's not using a kitchen either. Those portable stove thingies aren't that expensive.
@@mysidian they’re also banned in a lot of dorm halls, not that I give a shit what the university tells me I can and can’t have but some people do
honestly if you dont have a stove, get yourself a good little rice cooker and an electric kettle. both are usually allowed and will save your life wrt cooking food - u can cook a lot more than just rice in a rice cooker!
Well... as I am currently trying to keep my budget more in balance, this piece of information seems to be coming at the perfect timing (although it's been somewhere about 30 years ago since I was a college student). Also, one of the daily habits that I am trying to stick to - and I hate to admit that I don't always succeed to do so - is: 4 colours on the plate. You seem to be doing a good job also that. Keep it up!
3:01 dude just hit space with his pointer finger and now I can’t focus on anything else
Stop because I just watched that scene and was gonna come comment, and see your comment, 2 years early
Tip from someone who worked in a sandwich shop: if you’re too lazy to heat the tortilla in a skillet (like me) or don’t have a clean pan, microwaving it for 10 second will do the same thing. Also sauces are everything, don’t take much time to make, and are simpler than you think.
I really like your videos, and these recipes are real good, nutricious tasty and easy :D
The only thing I would advice is, use what you have. I sometimes get some ingredients that I dont really use that much and they end up going bad. So, even if that means cooking the same food a couple of times, you should all do what you can with what you have. Search for recipes, improvise, try to have fun and try to not overwhelm yourself ^^
As a true broke college student, here's my routine:
''Says he's broke, yet still lives in what looks like a 4k/m apartment" Yep, the usual youtuber cook video.
how do you know this costs 4k/m lol? he might live in a cheap neighbourhood in a cheap town
I loved seeing the current subs at 4605, look down to the subscribers count, and it's nearing 4 million. Great job my guy.
The only change I would make is marinating the tofu during lunch time in something like dark soy, light soy and anything else cuz I feel tofu is just a bit too bland even when seasoned heavily
Good idea!
@@letsKWOOWK thanks :)
your place is so bright I can never handle that brightness
I'm not sure what other people cook but that oat breakfast you called "zero effort" is more effort than i put into 95% of my meals .-.
Great video, looks so delicious. As a person that doesn't like oats with yoghurt, I suggest oats soaked in hot water, and then adding the grated apple, cinamon and honey. IT'S AMAZING
"The pan is ready to recieve your noods" 😂
When dicing a tomato, I like to start with slicing it in half then scooping out the wet parts, like scooping out the pulp and seeds from a pumpkin. It makes for a less messy Pico that keeps it fresh and lasting maybe 3 days longer than usual.
4:44 please I beg future me, make this.
Did future you make this
yo have you made it yet?
Hey guys, not sure if anyone's already mentioned this, but for the tofu you should get soft/silken tofu because if you get firm tofu it won't crumble like that! Take it from someone that learned the hard way aha
A guy with 3 million subscribers says he is broke ...
he had 6k then
this is an old video
Brother even speed is broke ,almost compared to his subscribers.
0:03 cocaine , all i hear is cocaine nowadays
Marinade thin slices of chicken breast, i do it with soy sauce and bbq. The you can cook the two at a time in an air fryer, and eat it with kuskus, which you mix with boiling water and cover for 5 minutes (1.25 water per kuskus). Eat it with a cucumber and there you go.
For breakfast you can buy/ prep shakshuka sauce. Makes it a 10 min prep.
More vids like this plis!!
I love your relationship with food, your food philosophy
I guess I'm kinda the same
So it's really comforting to know that im not alone
As italian sometimes I'm shock from what people eat when they are "busy" or "don't have time to cook". Our "easy meals" are often other country "fancy meals"
Edit: I'm not speaking about u KWOOWK, u are great. Love ur videos
"Snacks make me happy"
yep, felt that...
Dudes got nearly 3m subs.. pretty sure he's not still a broke college student
3:30 "Don't forget to wash your hands"...Don't forget to wash your chicken
Great video though 👍🏾
Don’t wash chicken, you just get salmonella on your sink, the heat kills bacteria
My fiancée just added your bean salad snack to her box of written out recipes. So that’s definitely a win for you.
lol, the edits on 4:12 made the joke work :)
Thanks for stepping in
bro def not broke anymore xD
bro went from 4.6k subs to over 3 million 💀
This video is GOLD, saying this as a student. Please make more
1:35 lies. I get hungry after 30-60 min :p
Another ACTUAL student recipe:
1) Canned soup
2) Rice
That's it. Dump it all in and cook it all together. You only need 1 pot or saucepan
I tried eating overnight oats once and I had one of the worse stomach pains ever for the rest of the day. I can’t imagine what would happen if I ate oats that are pretty much raw.
That was probably because your stomach started moving because of the fibers it happened to me before
The fiber took action
Would love some more videos like this pleaseee. This is exactly what I want yum, healthy, low effort and cheapppp
Bro lets be honest … you ain’t broke !😂
The editing transitions are fun, how he cuts from a fresh tomato to a diced tomato with the swish of a knife.
4:45 Unfortunately, I have the "cilantro tastes like soap" gene, and for me cilantro ruins any dish it is added to.
Today I tried the oats and they are freaking amazing. They're easy to make, delicious and lowkey healthy. The only thing that I would change is that I will soak the oats for 20-30 minutes, but I think it's more of a preference thing so try soaking it for different amount of time and see what works for you.
$6,25 a day, that's expensive
Definitely trying those noodles. Thanks for sharing.
You're not really broke when you have all those ingredients.
If he can eat for less than 7 dollars a day, then how are these ingredients too expensive for you?
@@yourmajesty3569 as I said broke people don't have that money and honestly, there is no zucchini and other ingredients that are below $7
the most useful video about cooking for students i’ve ever seen on youtube🥰 thanks
Think your definition of cheap is flawed...$6.25 a day is $43.75 a week on groceries. I have a budget of less than $15 a week on groceries. These meals aren't sustainable at all
get a job on the side bro
In the location he’s filming these a meal at Mac Donald’s would be 10-15$ the majority of food you can get easy to eat is either not healthy or expensive
The moment he said, don't worry I'll take it from here, I instantly subscribed
That oatmeal tastes awful, I think the combinations of yogurt and apple isn't a right choice.
If you don’t like soggy wraps that’s A-okay. Just try it as a bowl with quinoa/rice instead or a tortilla super yummy
There are many "simple" recipes that list dozens of seasonings. Glad that you keep using the same ingredients. The main issue is students do not have enough time to prepare all ingredients, not enough space to store the ingredients, and oftenly too much ingredients means most of them will be expired as we don't cook often.
When he said 4.6K, I immediately rushed over check his current following.
3.5M🎉🎉
Congrats KWOOK, for making it this far!
This man is a genius at marketing. From the looks of it he went from 4,500 subscribers to 3.5 mill in just a year.
