Damn the juxtaposition between the girl whose grants didn’t come through vs the girl who spent all her money in new york on a trip got bailed out by her mom is PRIME editing
Them editor in cut knows what they're doing 😂
boulderarms I mean all she did was laugh and say she got honeycomb because she loves honeycomb. It’s probably awkward laughter because she’s feeling judged about her purchase
boulderarms I understand what you mean. I wouldn’t consider my family rich necessarily especially compared to the girl in the video, but I’m definitely privileged financially and was confronted by that fact throughout high school where my school was located in a district where around 70% of students were below the poverty line I believe. It was a really jarring experience to be directly confronted by my privilege every day and I think it would help most financially fortunate people to have to go through a similar experience. Volunteering also helps but unless it’s a full time volunteering opportunity like Americorps I don’t think it gives the same perspective. Having said that, all this happened while I was underage and with my parents I could have just as easily ended up in a school in a more wealthy area and never gotten that perspective and become somewhat of a toned down version of this woman. She seems to have gone straight from high school to college, and her parents forced that on her, I think it’s largely their fault for not letting her have to struggle with the real world for a bit and gain some perspective. She seems to not know how fickle an acting career really is, so I think letting her go out and try it for herself offering only limited assistance while she starts off would have done a world of good for her. As it is now, I can’t really blame her for not having perspective because she hasn’t been given much of a chance to gain any
Merry Berry because everyone is judging her 🤣
Yeah. Like, it's one thing to have your parents help you with money (like the guy whose parents pay his rent), but it's another thing entirely to have no self awareness and be irresponsible.
Biggest splurge: Honeycomb cereal vs actual honeycomb lololol
honeycomb tastes super gooooddd
Before this video I didn't know that people eat honeycomb D:
It’s also so weird, cuz where I’m from, I just get It for free..:D
Oh, is that what they were talking about?! When she said she splurged on honeycomb, I thought she meant the cereal... but unlike the other lady, she didn't have a box of honeycomb in her items and I was confused. Had no idea people bought actual honeycomb lol
For a few seconds I thought honeycomb was a brand or something lmaoo

the annoying think about the girl in the white shirt isn't that she's privileged, it's that she's spoiled and doesn't realize how privileged she is.
what about the rich hipster dude
@@littlebean2528 that's the reason he's not annoying- he recognizes his privilege. he admitted that his parents pay his rent, and he genuinely seemed uncomfortable admitting that. There's nothing wrong with being privileged. it's only wrong if you take things for granted and don't recognize that you're able to sustain a certain lifestyle because of that privilege

very controversial topic. But here is my take on it. I think everyone should always be grateful for what they have if they are privileged but that doesn't mean you have to be ashamed of it and embarrassed because someone else had it harder. If you are privileged you should be able to live a good and easy life but just be grateful for it.
@@reflacius7377 exactly. I'm privileged in a lot of ways and am very thankful for that, but I also value money and material things because I know a lot of people don't have it. Kinda sexist
The girl in the white top is spending 1k a month on eating out, going to school for ~acting~, and is putting herself 25k in debt!!! She’s not spoiled, it’s just stupidity!
literally sounds like shes in highschool who only thinks of instant gratification and has no concept of whats realistic
I think it has to do with how you grow up than smarts or being spoiled. You need good examples and to practice earning things as a child and young adult so that it's easier to ignore the instant gratification. Some people are very smart, but can't control their compulsions, and then what's so sad is that they eventually hit rock bottom and can't escape the life that they built.
@@Mmmtruk Eh it really just depends on background, not all highschoolers are as privileged as her :/
In her defense, it sounds like she didn’t want to go to college, so it’s technically her parents putting her in that debt (which might explain their willingness to pay for everything else).
It does strike me as slightly frustrating that a parent would consider their child going into tens of thousands of dollars in debt to be “non-negotiable”.
When it comes to student debt, so often it’s the blind leading the blind.
@@HeavymetalHylian a lot of people have these halfbaked progressive beliefs and spew on about privilege, while also failing to realize that people are products of their environment.
It’s fine to be wealthy and use that wealth to provide a comfortable life for your family, but PLEASE teach your kids how privileged they are and not to be ignorant and tone deaf towards people who are less fortunate. Also, a lot of people are coming after the girl in the white shirt because of how privileged she is, but many of you fail to realize that a lot of you live in some of the wealthiest countries in the world. Just the fact that you even have access to food banks and post secondary education is an incredible privilege when looked at globally.
this is facts, even tho she is 1000x times more privileged than me, I'm still 1000x times more privileged than most people on earth.
@@sofiaortiz4303 all?
I don’t understand why people are attacking her for being privileged ... like you aren’t trying to live as comfortable as her? I think she’s lucky for being able to not have money as a big worry in her life. She’s out of touch, but thats what happens when you get people of different financial backgrounds and compare them back to back. Her answers just show how she lives life compared to the other participants who aren’t so fortunate.
It's not even that she's 'privileged per se, I think people are more annoyed by how spoiled and clueless she sounds (and yes you can have privilege without being spoiled).
The most annoying people I deal with are the ones who will insult me for my privilege while blatantly ignoring their own, I've had classmates tell me I'm disgustingly privileged because I have a very well paying job(started working at 15 in the industry alongside other part time jobs I had in high school) and pay my own way, while they ignore that their parents pay for everything, from their rent to school expenses to credit cards they use for non essentials such as everyday fast food, new clothes, expensive electronics, hobby supplies, endless random trinkets from online stores, etc while also insulting my second hand/homemade clothes, "outdated" electronics, homemade packed meals, and couponing

My ex-roommate was exactly like her. Her $700/month allowance (besides tuition/rent) wasn't enough so she tried to get a sugar daddy and start an onlyfans
She sounded sarcastic at that part
When I heard that all I could think about was the time that it was a weekend and the buses weren't running it would cost more to take a lift down to the grocery store because the grocery store was like 7 miles away from campus and I was so hungry that I bought a pizza with coupons and I think it came out to maybe $17 with the tip and I was just beating myself up all week about spending that much money on just one thing that I ended up lasting about a week because it was a pretty big pizza and I do double coupons but I was so upset that I nearly spent my entire weeks budget which is $20 on one meal even though I hadn't spent any money the week before. That's the reality that I think most people who live in poverty have where you think about every single thing that you buy everything that you spend because it all adds up the end of the month I've pushed because it all adds up the end of the month I've pushed back getting medications and going to the doctor before just because I was so scared of how much it was going to cost and that if I wasn't really sick I was just feeling crummy I would have spent so much to the point where I ended up getting mono and strep at the same time and the doctor basically telling me you need to get these medicines or you are going to die and me finally having to bite the bullet and pay the $75 for antibiotics

Her being pregnant at a young age isn’t the part she’s getting respect for. She’s getting respect for the fact that even bough she’s had a kid, she stepping up, putting her ass into gear & getting herself a good education so that she can provide for her child. That’s what I’m doing right now and essentially I get funding for 12 credits of classes each term and $500 dollars for class materials (which I often end up doing over on and have to pay out of pocket). If your worried about money for school or even just want to get your first two years done early I would recommend looking into it. It’s not easy at all but you’ll save a lot of money and time.

Oh my god, people calling the white girl tonedeaf as if she said it right in the face of other people struggling with money. She was asked a question, and she answered truthfully. Ya'll really be mad at someone being rich and not feeling bad about it plus being a woman. No the rich hipster guy isn't any better because he "looked uncomfortable" while talking about how his parents paid for stuff. People would make any excuses for an attractive-ish guy. And the struggling with money question we didn't get to see other answers so we don't know what he said.
Plus take a homeless person and make them watch this and then talk about how the 'poor people' in this video were not aware of their priviledge and acting like they had real problems and struggled with money while they are getting a college education or can even apply for a loan in the first place: see how everything is relative?
Also, remember that this is a very edited video which has been arranged to look as controversial or 'eye-opening' as it can. Yeah it's interesting but very in-the-face with its parallel cuts. It's not that great honestly. Subtle judgement free video would have been better in my opinion and people could form the parallels themselves but of course to be popular you have to spoonfeed dumb people
