I think the new content is great. Way different feel than the GT3 cars that is for sure, Adding additional diversity to this title is a good thing, with 3 GT series and the cup cup class ACC is really starting to blossom IMO.
As a fan of both the Red Bull Ring and the KTM X-Bow this pack was a no brainer for me and finally got me back into sim racing after an over a year long break.
It never ceases to amaze me how you talk so much during a race yet maintain your speed... I havnt seen any of your peers do this to the extent that you do. Wish you would come back to ACC and do more races like you used to
Even before watching your video Will, I was thinking the GT2s felt more similar to iRacing than the GT3 cars. The laser scan of the Red Bull Ring is brilliant and makes me eager for the Nords scan. This update and content to ACC makes me realise how much more this sim has to offer in future content and tracks. It makes me wonder what content AC2 will have and if and how AC2 and ACC will co-exist
It sounds crazy but try Wreckfest. There actually is some pretty good racing there if you pick the right servers. The physics are a little bit arcade, but there is enough realism there to make your transition to real-life sims a lot easier. Wreckfest is what got me into sim ricing. It was really surprising to me how many things that I learned from Wreckfest that I still use in the sims I play today
iRacing is a bit of a money pit but has lower class cars (Miata cup, GR86, etc) Sticking with ACC though, the GT4 cars (DLC) have much more forgiving handling but not as much of a following (but if you're just doing races against the AI it doesn't matter... I raced against the AI for almost a year before I bothered with racing other people)
To be honest, none of these cars in ACC are super challenging to drive, you just have to take the time to learn them. Learn real braking technique, learn to feel the car through your FFB and learn what it's telling you, and treat it like a real car, with real weight, and the rest will come naturally. One of the biggest evolutions in my driving skill was learning to not try to overpower the FFB. Hold the steering wheel lightly, and let it react to things, and just guide it gently. More often than not, the steering will react to what's happening and correct itself; especially if you use a direct drive wheel
This Video was ridicously catching to watch. Nice explainations and demonstrations here. Definitely one of the most enjoyale race-videos I've ever seen. Couldn't stop watching. I also feel like the GT3 cars felt numb sometimes. I'm curios if I feel difference with the CSL Elite enough until getting a better setup. Definitely would love to build a setup like yours, if it wasn't that expensive.
The 488 Ferrari is the challeger (Trophy) which is not a GT2 but same as the Lambo they are very close to a GT2 and can technically run the series I belive. There is no version of a 296 GT2 but probably the 2024 challenger version will be probably.
I still don't understand why people think iRacing graphics are ugly and ACC are good. To me, your videos on iRacing looks much better. Great video anyway just a little tought about graphics.
Great vid. I found the Audi to be the fastest in straight line speed. But not the quickest to stop! Jardier recommends setting caster to max. I find this true in most cars, it gives more feedback from the tyres and feels more connected to the track for me.
For me on G29 it's a night and day difference between GT3 and GT2. The GT2s have great tire feedback and you always know what is going on. Jumping back in GT3 is completely numbing. Not feel for the grip whatsoever. The biggest plus is that the main GT2 cars, the Maserati, the Audi and the KTM are extremely close in performance and are far easier to set up than any GT3 car. And in the rain they are just SO.MUCH.FASTER.
I see that ACC still hasn't fixed their lighting. You can barely see the cars brake lights. Thats been my gripe with this game since day one, specially since I strictly only play these in VR. I always go back to AMS2 because they nailed lighting in that game. The perfect sim would be a hybrid between ACC and AMS2 that would be heavenly.
I only had one session on the RBR track and the level of detail on the track surface is stunning, even with my Thrustmaster TMX, I felt everything coming through (which doesn't happen a lot in ACC). It's got me hot and bothered in anticipation for the Nordschleife.
Thanks for the video on the GT2 vehicles. Great racing and really like the way you have graphics and live view of your hands intermixed while racing. I have ACC and use VR with my SIM racing. I am into more of the other SIM racing games than ACC, but I will get into driving in that game eventually. Thanks again and Take care.
There’s no intermixing of graphics and hands. It’s all one shot. His hands and steering wheel are real and everything else you see is on three 65” screens in front of him.
Honestly Red Bull Ring is worth the price of the dlc itself. Gt2 cars are fun but I find them rather 'heavy' for me but I'm newish to simracing and need to concentrate on more basics atm so driving lots of different cars/classes isn't one of my skills yet.
Lmao!! That dude in the Porsche is white knuckling lap after lap pouring buckets of sweat, meanwhile Will is all over my man whilst nonchalantly doing an infomercial for the dlc, barely paying attention!😂😂😂
Nice to have something different on ACC. But in the end it will end up like GT4 already struggling to get more than one split on LFM - and then there is the fact these are way too fast compared to GT3 laptimes. Average gap in real life is around 3-4 seconds, even on Monza.
Man i'd kill to get a DD wheel and a VR headset (rocking the g920 wheel with CLS LC elite pedals(modded with better throttle and brake) on a stand i push up against my desk, spent all my "extra" money on a new gpu. No room for a dedicated setup with big monitors but man you make it look fun and worth the money.
The problem with every pack is that nobody plays them in the open lobby. I race on Valencia maybe once a month and never on Mount Panorama. If someone has time for LFM then go for it but don't expect to be able to play it after 2-3 weeks from the release in the open lobby.
what exactly do you mean by having "time for LFM"? You can do sprint races in LFM almost the same way you could join open lobby races. You don't need to compete for the season standings. Just join a sprint race and go for it?
Out of curiosity do you typically sim in 4k or 1440P? A follow up question, on a triple screen setup (55" each) would you rather run 4k@80-90 FPS, or 1440P at a stable 120+? (with 120 hz screens)
Funny story actually, I tried to join up about a year ago but my SR was too low from all the testing of gear I do in single player mode (didn't realise you could turn off SR for single player), so now I can't join.

I would have say that its a steroid gt4 cars more than cup cars as some have no abs or tc sometime. At least as a huge gt4 driver it felt like that. And really more soft and playfull tho smooth than gt3. Audi is even safer for me! Only porsche is painfully to drive, the 935 kept killing me with oversteer. Gt2rs manthey have grip but felt like 991gt3r.1, lot of understeer to fight. Mercedes was THE car for me, i had wanted that twin turbo 4.0L v8 in gt3 one for so long. Maserati could be tricky but reminded me a lot of 296 Ferrari, sound wise, drive feel etc. Ktm was grounded to the road, no slide at all, super short braking but sadly lacks a bit of power. So, my guess is they add this to gt2 and debug it before moving to gt3 when nord comes out.
Can’t wait for your asetek pagani pedals review. Got one set but still’ waiting for the rig to come and wheel (order from fanatec so, bit of waiting 😇🥲)
Used ur code to get my pagani pedals and didn’t open them yet.
And it is sooooo nice and blurpy. Loved gt4, love this one. Even love gt3 tho it was less torquy than i like it.
Maserati could be tricky but reminded me a lot of 296 Ferrari, sound wise, drive feel etc.
Ktm was grounded to the road, no slide at all, super short braking but sadly lacks a bit of power.
Have still to try cup car against gt2 but sold my wheel before 😅
And i agree with you that gt2 acc bring it closer to iracing feel and i love it!
@@thomasbouvier3203 The 935 is a rebuild of an old Group 5 Car from 1976-1981 running with the GT2 license but is not a purposefully build GT2 car. No wonder you have issues driving this Monster.
@@zorrothebug well if i remember well it is based on either 991 gt3 rs or gt2 rs (not sure it has the twin turbos), but yeah, stock car is allready tricky. I would have tough it would have more nose downforce due to longer nose, but nahhh and its even more tricky.
@@thomasbouvier3203 The powertrain is based on the 911 GT2 RS (991), that's right.
