Fun fact: the scan isn't made by the developers. It's done by the "Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG", the operator of the nurburgring/Nordschleife. Game developers can reach out to them to use the scan in their games. The scan they are using is pretty old actually. A new scan will be made, once they finished overhauling the circuit. So, Forza's and ACC's renditions are based on the same scan. :)

I LOVE how they let us bypass the Nordschleife and it's something I really miss in all the other sims. Comes in handy when you're trying to warm up the tires for a push lap.
Jimmer, If you press LIGHT's twice on you get the "endurance light setup" whereas your car gets inside light and longer front lights. TRY it its super immersive!!
Those cinematic shots at time are fooling me in actually thinking they are real, but then it cuts back to the cockpit. They did an amazing job on the realism!

2:06 Very simple explanaition actually, Kunos only has the license to add SRO related content to the game and as we know, the N24 is part of IGTC and only the N24 and thats the layout used in that race so, thats basically it. Despite it being very easy for them to add the NLS layout to the game, it wouldnt make sense for them to do so and theyre probably not allowed to do so either
Jimmer, I felt the same way about the bumpyness on the stock setup. They've changed the dampers, so the setups need some tuning to feel solid around this circuit.
Yeah, the default Porsche 992 GT3 setup here is godfuckingawful bumpy because of the dampers, fixing it took that car from completely undriveable to amazing feeling, goes over a curb, hits the ground, and instantly is glued with no bouncing.
All of the porsches have been a bit questionable at least since V1.9. The 992 GT3 used to have a funny bug, where it started randomly jumping after being lowered down after pitstop or going over certain curbs, and it didin't stop xD
Dude the nighttime is so good. I raced the 24 bicycle race here on the Nordschleife last year. This is exactly what it looks like at night. Pitch black except for some coloured party lights.
Awesome to have someone who races at the Nordschleife and yet is also in the sim racing sphere give a good review of this, details and all the little accents and flourishes they have added are great to see when a lot of other sims feel like the track background and surroundings are just glued in and if they could, they'd forgo them altogether
Great video, wonderful immersion. I'd like to see you do two things: 1) Participate in a full 24 hour race against human players in a properly organised race on the Nordschleife in ACC 2) see you race in real life around Bathurst I reckon you'll monster them both.
Similar impressions as you, Jimmy. I spoke to a few of the eSports guys and the consensus appears to be that the track showcases some of the current shortfalls of ACC's damper/suspension simulation. Driving through Hatzenbach is proper wild, as you illustrated. I've been using solely paid setups, as that's the minimum to even make the car compliant through the curby sections. The stock setups are all woeful. Like driving bouncy castles. Beyond that obviously the best N24 layout we've had in any sim. Immersion, details etc. all on a completely different level. Super awesome DLC. Basically a gift. Much love.

I believe they got to scan the circuit before new tarmac was replaced, so thts why the track could feel bumpy. I believe Misha mentioned this in his ACC 24h nurburgring video.
Bumpy setup weirdness aside (Maybe the car is missing a set of premium Bilstein suspension?), I absolutely adore the atmosphere of this track! I agree, this is one of the things that are deeply missed in the big iRacing events. The best you get there is a paper mache-filled grandstand. This version feels so much more alive
6:16 i'd love if there was a sim where you are able to drive the "steilstrecke" there at that part, i know that its only been used for a short time but i just wonder why (as far as i know) noone's ever done this
Jimmy, you can set OBS to have custom resolutions, and then record side by side 1080. This will also keep it synchronised perfectly. You can also set it to have multiple audio channels too. It's what I do, and it makes life so much easier for me and my editor. It's easier to show than tell, so hmu if you want a 30 second tutorial
Kunos keeping with the tradition of jank default setups. All the cars need some sort of setup work at minimum, and then there’s the old thing of the pressures. The car feels so much better when they’re in the window (~26.8) … But I’m sure we all know these things… Looking forward to your multiplayer vids and love your work/following your career, jimmy!

I think they did very good. Someone went to the track and showed them side by side with 4 other games and acc was the closest. With objects, track etc. Again compared to the others lol. Also jimmy out here showing us acc does have good ffb look at his wheel go! Lol The also aggresive drive and feel is the Porsche. It will feel more like what yoy are used to if yoy used a bmw lol.

@@nololol thats a lot of bullshit. They changed their engine to inhouse for ac evo probably because of modding unreal engine isnt really possible. They also said it will be successor to ac1. Kunos also once said in a interview that they know how important modding is.

Something about that dawn was so...dawn. Coming out of darkness to those colours and ambience genuinely triggered those, "Oh, no. I've stayed up too late" vibes. Most enduros, dawn feels like Sunset Lite, but not that. I dunno, something's different here and it's immersive.
I just wished there is an option to choose night or day in ACC 24h Nurburgring. I love just driving through the night with that fog you can see from the headlight beam.
Be interesting to see how it looks and performs when its released on console, Forza's version looks pretty good, infact before the ACC version i'd have said it was the best one available, and still looks great specially when at night in a thunderstorm

Wow, that addition of the crowds really is a game changer. You’re spot on with saying it feels so much more vibrant than every other version. I’ll be very interested to see if any other sims respond in future updates/releases. This should be the new standard going forward, at least for races.
Could also be the track isn't more bumpy, you're just used to how real suspensions react there now vs video game suspensions. Also, when you are physically moving with the bumps in a real car, they might not visually seem as large either. If it is mapped from a laser scan, as most maps are these days, the track is perfect and the physics of how the cars react to it is wrong.
ACC is great bc I think it’s the most accessible simulation there is. It’s great on console it has great controller support don’t need a wheel to have fun and learn and feel like your driving/racing a car realistically. and so many DLCs that are great. The curbs are an ACC thing though I’m pretty sure I heard a lot of ACC guys on RUclips hoping for this update to fix the curbs so maybe they haven’t and the Porsche I hear isn’t a great car for the track Maybe that’s just the gt3 one. But overall it’s what you expect from kunoz and it’s worth the money. ACC has the best looking night races on top of that. Spa is insane at night so is Bathurst I love those two and Nurburgring looks great too at night. Festival and then pitch black high speed tight sections. But the AI aren’t great. On tracks they always have those one or two spots they’ll always wreck at.
I love racing GT4 in this game and think they provide the best racing. Sadly we'll probably never get the new BMW, McLaren, Aston, Supra, Mustang, etc. that have come out since the GT4 DLC. I'd be very happy if Kunos proved me wrong.

If you want to drive this track in multiplayer I can just give you the advice to do it in a league, open lobby's are chaotic as it is but on this track it's just bonkers. Most people can't drive a full lap and some don't care about racing and just crash you out of the way
NLS layout probably isn't included, because it's not part of SRO. Just the 24h version for IGTC.

Only if you use a livery/car version that is used for endurance and therefore has the lights. There are cars/liveries without the big lights I think

Not allowed to. Unfortunately even just the GP circuit wasn't updated due to how licensing works. Nothing Kunos can do.

yeah i have found that the BMW takes the take the best for me so far. Porsche feels like its the fastest. going to try the Merc next.

ACC always offers intense racing, here it's like double the intensity. The track feels super tight and doesn't give you time to breathe.

The vegetation is really next level, and the lighting by night is just so lovely... I can only compare it to AC and AMS2. But hats off.
