Please make a video on LeBron’s perfect biomechanics. LeBron has probably played more NBA minutes than anyone in the past 15 years, and suffered no major injury’s. That would be helpful thanks.

Theres a channel called "by any means basketball". They did a video on rose and how the way he landed might have attributed to his injuries. Everyone should go check it out. Its pretty informative.
Back in 2008, I was well aware of his Rose's injury history. That's why I didn't favor him over Westbrook. I knew injuries for him would be a matter of time. Rose was better than Westbrook and peaked earlier but I knew Westbrook would have longevity. All in all, it was sad to see Rose go down so many times. And he went down last night. Smh
@@eczotiic8026 My point is that he's had more play time than Rose and he's been on the same team. How can someone as talented as Westbrook not lead his team to a championship at least once in a decade, or get traded to play with a better franchise like KD? He's not a team player and he's not interested in winning.
I’ve always been fascinated by the way certain athletes move. Factors like bow legged or pigeon toed (I’m sure these are potentially offensive/non-medical terms) also players that explode/change direction quickly like Dominique Wilkins and D-Rose who jump off 2 feet a lot. D-Rose was fun to watch but the amount of force he was generating to change direction....I love these videos, fascinating!
Please do Greg Oden ( shaq that was so injury prone he didnt even.) also can you judge if Dennis Smith Jr. would become like derrick rose in the future with his landing styles?
Thank you for this video. I’m happy because an actual doctor speaking on this issues helps so much. Apparently Derrick rose landed on his heels a lot and even Tracy McGrady had horrible landing mechanics. Especially where he’d land on one single leg so much. Do you have any recommendations on how to train these biomechanics like programs or therapy clinics?
Not studying to be a doctor but studying proper form by being an athlete, training programs, and having had knee problems in the past, I kind of figured this out but now know that my hypothesis was correct.
These are great 👍🏻 informative and interesting. Would you consider adding much more photo and video examples throughout for more b-roll and supportive content when your talking and explaining? That would be sweet :)
Wow very informative video. Im huge fan of derrick rose and i myself suffered also from a torn acl back in 2013, and now still working my way back to play the way i play before coz trauma really prevents me from doing so. How was John Stockton able to have such a long career missing almost no time at all? Did he do anything special in order to stay healthy and on the court?
I was looking at a motivational video..... the speaker played with stockton and he would clown him for going to the chiropractor 4 times a day on game day.... He thought it was silly but then when he only lasted 3 seasons in the nba due to injury he quickly realized how important it was.. Hope you got all that 👍🏽

Hi Dr. Brian, your content is especially interesting as I’m looking to pursue a path in medical studies to hopefully be a sports physician. I’ll be starting Columbia’s PostBac program in the fall to begin my journey to medical school. Your content just further motivates me in my decision, even more so since you’re a fellow sports enthusiast. Thank you for your videos!
Force is the change in momentum over time so if you land with straight legs you stop almost instantly and then the force is huge but if you land with your legs bent then you slow down more gradually and then thare is less force acting on you although it acts on you for longer.
The biomechanics of what he’s referring to is the jump stop move. We’ve seen it a million times growing up on the playground courts in the hood. I never thought it would end up getting him hurt. Now we have a current example in Zion Williamson and how he lands with 280 lbs of muscle game after game so we should not be surprised his knee has been hurt quite a few times and he isn’t even 25 years old yet. Got the knees of a 50-60 year old man.
I know im wait but on top of learning how to land properly i think serious squat days are necessary for players. Deep squats can highlight flaws(like weak abductors) and you can fix them as you go.
Not gunna lie, I fucking hated science/Biology etc in school.. BUT i could learn from you, retain the info, and actually enjoy the process!! Idk what it is but you have a gift!
For any engineers or physics geek watching this, think of F=ma or F=mgsin(theta) @ 3:54 . If the knee is straight, the force from the landing would be F=mg * 1 while if the knee bends at an angle the load on your knee would be mg *
Really educational and well laid out content! Thank you! Can you please touch on the subject of wearing knee brace after ACL injury? Or even before that as a way of preventing an ACL injury?
He seems a lot more controlled. Certainly things can happen but just the fact that he's not flying through the air and landing all contorted certainly helps
You guys keep thinking this stuff is a joke, this stuff can ruin careers for real sometimes barely after they started. Dude at my high school was a freak athlete, he had a legit 51 inch vert and ran a 10.3 something 100 meter time. He was only 5’11 but his head would be WAY ABOVE the rim when he would dunk, he be dunking with no shoes from the free throw line and shit. For sure had a career in sports but he always had weird ass landings but luckily his legs/feet were strong enough to take the impact. Until his junior year, one horribly wrong landing fucked up everything, he got a bad ACL injury and never really recovered and y’all probably never heard of him or hear from him. I’m telling you guys it’s the crazy athletic people who are most prone to this stuff cause they never had to learn how to take off or land properly, they just got gifted trampolines for feet and be jumping 51 inches and shit then that wears down your body hard, even if you don’t feel it. One day it’s gonna happen unless you fix it
Could you do a video on Chris Paul's hamstring? He's been having issues over the years with that muscle. Curious to hear your thoughts on why he is having issues.
