      Thank you! Unfortunately I don't currently have a student tutorial (though many have requested one!). In my experience students are able to figure it out pretty easily one their own even without a tutorial. Another option would be for you to make a quick one using Screencastify or another screen capture program.

    I am loving your videos!! I am a preschool technology teacher at a private school in Mexico, and the tech goals we have to set now (due to all the remote learning) are very different to the objectives I used to have for all my students in past years. Now I am looking for free and user-friendly ideas for kids ages 2-6 years to learn from home (independently...oh my!). I do like Flipgrid for some grades. Will continue watching your videos and learning from your suggestions. Thank you for all this valuable information. :)

    Another succinct and informative tutorial -- thank you, Sam! I am binging on New EdTech Classroom this morning ;) Your viewers might want to know that FlipGrid made some changes as of August 2020 -- notably that "Grids" have been replaced by "Groups." (Kinda ironic considering the app's name, right?!) Here's a good summary of the changes from the FlipGrid blog: blog.flipgrid.com/news/flipgrid2020. I used FlipGrid with my students in the spring but watching this tutorial was a good refresher for start-of-school, and I realized there were some features I was neglecting (such as the whiteboard for math problems).

    As I teach Business Ethics (and no, that is not an oxymoron!), discussion is of paramount importance for student learning, becoming engaged with the material, and ultimately (and hopefully) internalizing an appropriate moral compass. I believe that in the current social distancing environment, whereby I had to transition to an online delievery of a complex and discussion heavy course, this will work out VERY well. SO excited to get going, but class doesn't start for another week. :)
    So THANK YOU for such an amazing tutorial! I have set my notification appropriately as I want to keep up to date.

    Thank you so much for creating a instructional video that will definitely help me incorporate Flip grid. I watched another video that was confusing. I also dislike it when the person who created the learning video does not replay to the questions people ask, after looking at your comments I saw that you definitely interact with your followers, thank you. My question is...I saw a person who used some sort of animal head over their face in the video that even moved their mouth to look like the animal was talking. That person wasn't responding to questions but did mention something like faceig? I searched and could not find anything named that. Do you know anything about creating a head/face that you can put over your own? I don't care if it talks. I just would like to be a funny character and not a happy face or pixilated face. Thank you for your awesome videos, i suscribed!

      You're welcome! Glad you've found my videos helpful!
      Flipgrid offers several "appsmashing" integrations with other programs like Adobe Spark, Snapchat, Chatterpix, and Instagram. Essentially you can create videos in those programs and then upload them to Flipgrid. So my guess is that what you are seeing is a video that recorded in Snapchat or Chatterpix and then uploaded to Flipgrid. You can also add stickers to your videos in Flipgrid, which does allow you to add fun elements to your videos like hats, sunglasses, etc. without using a different program. Hope that helps!

    Thank you for this information. I am a teacher working at Toronto District School Board. They have approved this app to use for teaching and learning purposes. However, given that our school community is very concerned on privacy matters, I have two questions: 1- Is there a way to have students video records to be visible by other students in my classroom. 2- How does Flipgrid protect students' privacy?

      @NextGenTeacher  4 года назад

      Hello! You have several different options for how to set up Flipgrid with varying levels of privacy. For example, you can set it up so only students with a specific email domain can login, and you can also choose to close a Grid or an assignment once it's no longer in use. In general, students will need a specific login to access the assignment you create, so the videos aren't openly available for others to see.
      Here is Flipgrid's official document on privacy: legal.flipgrid.com/privacy.html

    Love your video! Lots of great information that I didn't get in other videos. My only problem is that this video is two years old, and it looks like FG changed its design. For example, it looks like I cannot customize feedback, as you showed in your video. I want to create a rubric, but that option doesn't seem to be available anymore. Do you have an updated video showing FG's 2022 design? Thanks!

    Very informative video. If I want to use the same assignment for multiple sections, how do I do that? For example, I teach 4 sections of 6th grade English. If I want all sections to post a video response to the same prompt, do I have to create it four times?

      When you are in the grid view, click on the drop down box where it says "actions," then select "duplicate topic." From there you can choose which grid to copy the assignment to. You don't need to recreate it!

    Hello! This is a great video within a great series of videos! And it is double-great that you take the time to answer virtually every single comment! Congratulations and thanks a lot for that, it is very unusual! I have a couple of questions:
    Question 1. What is the capacity and life span of Flipgrid, in other words, how many grids can a teacher open, how many assignments can a grid have, how many videos can every single student can upload and how long can a grid/assignment be open (e.g.: 1 month, 1 semester, 1 year, lifetime)?
    Question 2. Is there integration like the one you described between Flipgrid and Google Classroom but between Flipgrid and Moodle?
    Thank you so much! Greetings from Mexico!

    • @NextGenTeacher
      @NextGenTeacher  4 года назад

      Thanks so much!
      1. Unlimited!
      2. Sure, you can integrate Flipgrid with any program, really, because all students would need is either the direct link to the grid you create or the code to enter the grid if they go directly to Flipgrid. You can embed a link to the grid you've created in Moodle, and they'll be taken directly there. The only thing the Flipgrid/Google Classroom integration really does is post the assignment directly into Google Classroom if you choose.
      Best of luck!
