Hi Ana, we need great teachers so yes!!! Please look into teaching as a career. I love being a teacher and I love working with other great teachers. I agree, wouldn't it be cool to sit with Michelle and pick her brain about how she is so amazing at so many things. Someone else mentioned you speaking Spanish, I teach in a dual immersion program and YES speaking Spanish is a huge factor!

I just watched 7 different videos on RUclips about Nearpod and did a 2.5 hour long professional development video through my school's tech department. None of them were as helpful as your video just was. Thank you so much!
Finally I found it - so clear and understendable - I can start using it for my English classes using Google classroom - it's a great way to start from.

Applause, Michelle, a fantastic introduction to the use of Nearpod and also to the process of lesson plan design and teaching interactively! I noticed that you have PearDeck add-on in your slides. Pear Deck allows similar interactivity! Do you have a preference for one over another? Why? which feature of Nearpod are not accessible in Pear Deck?

Yes!!! I love Nearpod and use it as much as I possibly can. If you want to “sell” it to your kids and make them really want to use it, they have a great VR feature that kids love!

I'm about to start academic teaching next week...after we had two weeks of diagnostic and doing a lot of community/relationship building and social/emotional learning. I was really getting worried about how I could possibly continue the engagement we have had so far and trying to figure out how to keep them coming back when the hard stuff comes along. During a google Meet - If you drag your videos (preferably .mp4 format) into a google chrome tab it should reduce / stop the video lag.
I have literally been begging people to teach me Near pod. Our district is sending out T/K and K lessons embedded in Nearpod. No one has been able to thoroughly walk me through it except you! Thank you so much.
You have a lot of good info, and very well- presented. Perhaps I’m a bit slow, but I can’t see whether you are putting your slides into Nearpod, or vice-versa.

My district just had a 2-hour Nearpod PD a few weeks ago and I definitely learned more about this program from you right now! I loved the way you used this! I'm in my first student teaching placement and I was looking for a way to provide more interaction (and assessment) for my 2nd graders when I go over my google slides. This is perfect! Your videos have literally been a godsend for me. Thank you for all that you do for teachers!

In my elementary science college class, the professor uses nearpod for everything and goes way too fast so now we all hate nearpod. Knowing the great teacher you are, I'm sure you would notice if your students are falling behind/are uninterested, but I just know if I'm a college student and hate going back and forth on nearpod so much, I'm not putting my students through that lol
Anyone else feel like the nearpod reports are difficult to read? I have 150 students and I just feel like the the way you see their results is...frustrating? Anyone else?

Same here. I have 7 classes so some of these periods have different codes. The NP report only displays the date and time, not the code so that's also frustrating when trying to look up the data for that specific period!

Hello Michelle, I have been using nearpod for most of my virtual classes but my biggest complaint for nearpod and distance learning is that when my kiddos (1st grade) go into the link for nearpod their cameras turn off automatically because they are all using ipads. I hate not seeing my kids and not being able to read their expressions and if they are paying attention.
Petition for Nearpod to add a Pokémon Red and Blue mode where you battle the questions, and the options are the choices!

How do you handle this when students are absent and miss the "Live" instruction? Do you have to upload it as "Self Paced"?
I would assume that would work! I have assigned Self Paced lessons to my students before and I'm sure you can still do that with the absent ones even though you did a live session with the rest of the class. If you run into issues assigning the lesson as both, you could always just duplicate the Nearpod lesson and assign the second one as "Self Paced."

Can my students pick up the next day where we leave off? My district uses a block schedule and many times my lessons carry over into the next day.
