Ashley I must say you a wonderful Teacher. I just wish you were around when I was teaching. I’m now 83 years old, and learned to knit in School in Scotland age 5 or 6 years old. The first thing we had to knit was a hot water bottle cover, which we needed with no central heating. My wonderful Teacher was a master knitter. Through my younger years I only knitted off and on. I emigrated to Vancouver Canada, and worked in a yarn shop age 20. I was a very natural knitter, and was offered a job to teach knitting at a high School in the evenings. The pay was marvellous. What I would have loved, was to have you teaching by my side, the younger generation. I still think youngsters should be taught in every School, as once you learn, you don’t forget. It’s also the best thing you could learn for many reasons. Keep up the great work of teaching, I’m so proud of you. God Bless . ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇨🇦🥰

I really appreciate your kind words - means a lot to me to hear that from someone with such a strong history knitting! It is so fun for me to teach simple designs that I make - I want it to me accessible to everyone! It brings so much joy to see other people make things that they love to wear. Thanks letting me know about your background - it’s so fun to hear about how other people started knitting and their love for it too. Stay warm + happy knitting! 🧶 ❤️🧶💕

I'm a disabled grandma..n have been knitting n crochet for 50 years.. throughout those years I taught many many children (and adults) these wonderful crafts. I would pick up hooks needles n yarn at garage sales n 2nd hand shops as to have many extra ones on hand... So I could teach then give my student a hook n yarn or needles n yarn to take home.

🥰 I have found other so-called tutorials, where the knitter tells you what she’s going to do, shows you the finished product, and mostly talks her way through the beginning of the procedure, and then shows you the end of it in each section, which is really no help for me. You are actually sitting here knitting every stitch with me. That is what I needed. Ok, NOW I’M DOING IT!

I am halfway down the torso using your Simple Raglan Sweater pattern and can barely contain my excitement!! I found you on instagram and it brought me to your channel. I am so glad I found you!! I just wanted to thank you so much for making this tutorial. I know how time consuming it must have been. I've been knitting for 4yrs and have never made a sweater because I didn't know where to start. I didn't know what it meant to divide for the sleeves, the front and back ect. I bought a kit from Lion Brand and one from We are Knitters but they have been sitting in the boxes for 1yr now because it says they are easy but doesn't say how to do any of the separating. I hope you and your family have a great holiday. Thank you again!!

Ashley, you are a treasure. I love to knit but have no sense for space, meaning, I can't see (visualize) the garment in a written pattern or even a half-finished project. I'm knitting blind. BUT you came along and now I CAN SEE IT, I can see the whole flow, how the sweater grows and forms on the needles. What a breakthrough you enabled me there! From now on I will not only be able to knit this sweater but I will have an Understanding on Sweaters in general. I hope you are a happy person because you do deserve it.

I look forward to watching and learning from your video. I'm an experienced knitter and have knit top-down raglan sweaters (among others), but I'm always just following someone else's design. My sock knitting creativity only took off after I had learned a generic sock pattern, so I'm hoping to do the same with sweaters. Right now I'm slogging through the Field Sweater, but I'll find the time to watch your video.

You make knitting a sweater seems so easy. I was looking for a first project and I'll definitely give a try on this one. I love how chunky and comfy it looks. And your closeups and explanations are on point. I don't know much about knitting vocabulary in general, but in English even less (I only know a few terms in my mother tongue french) but I could follow pretty much everything. Really excited to buy my equipment, practice a bit and then move on to this sweater. Thank you so much 😘

Great job! You can decrease gradually if you'd like (feel free to watch this video for how to decrease on the sleeves ruclips.net/video/x8Fx9SGHkBg/видео.html) until you get to your desired stitch count. Or you can just include more decreases than I have in the pattern! the beginning of this video has me wearing the sweater. That's all I've got right now as far as pictures go!

I was all disappointed thinking I'd have to figure out how to make my 8mm needles fit the pattern's 9mm needles, but I did a gauge swatch with my 8mm needles and it turns out that produces the desired gauge for the project.
