i had 3 capris, my first one was xreg 2.8 in silva 4 speed box no limited slip, second was 2.8 blue and silva 5 speed box limited slip, then the Brooklands, loved the capri there a great drive so different to other cars, now i drive a mercedes c63 give me a capri any day ❤️
Great entertainment, had a Capri 2.0 back in the 80's funny enough a moustache too at the time. You needed a bag of cement in the 2.8 boot in the wet to try and stop it spinning out lol
I was spoiled in that i had the ultimate Capri a Tickford one with all the body kit that sort of fitted in places, but at a distance it looked the part and had if anything too much power when it came to taking corners at speed. The were and still are a highly desirable car that has not aged like some have. I have always found Ford gearboxes to be very good, but some 5 speed ones can be a little notchy. Sarah and Paul make a great team, looking forward to more video's.
Haha love these videos. Silly and informative in equal measure. Do like a Capri...think i prefer this generation for the quad headlights. Impressive tash action too. Crabbers one is even colour coded with the inside of her coat...what style! I even forgot she was wearing one after a while. Paul clearly can't carry off a tash 😂
I was doing a stunt with my Allegro ( yeah I know ) in a pub carpark, when a so-called friend decided to try and sabotage it by kicking the front wheel in the hope that it would straighten up & crash into the only other vehicle in the carpark, a 280 Brooklands. The car was driving itself around in circles in reverse with the choke out, while I sat on a wall ( like an idiot ) smoking. Somewhat panicked by my friend's sudden intervention, I managed to get back into my self-driving Allegro before any potential catastrophe.
I remember the first time I saw a Capri was in 1969, a 3.0 spinning it's wheels up Deptford high street, it greatly impressed this 15 y/o! In the 70's I drove a 2.8i which was nice but a bit of disappointment... The rest of the range was a bit overrated IMHO
Does anybody remember the Capri Comanche V6 by Jeff Uren? Mr Uren's company "breathed" on other early Fords like the Cortina marks 1/2/3 & possibly 4 (Savage) and the Escort marks 1/2 (Navaho and Apache). Bet there's not many of these left out there.
I had a few capris mk2 1.6 jps , mk3 2L ghia and a 2.8 injection they were great I loved them but cortina mk3,s were my most favorite…this is odd Sarah looked uncannily like my mate Ozzy with that tash I couldn’t escape it although he never wore glasses if I remember 🤔🤣
Capri is more related to an Escort… Cortina was so different… I had 3, a 1.6L 2.0GL with side linkage gearbox and a 2.0S with a 5 speed but still “crash” reverse when Vauxall were doing sincro’s for years… 😊
D Reg was the last… a chap I knew had Capris for years n years but after they stopped went Japanese and had a totally different experience at dealers he was expected respected and had treatment second to non… and my personal experience at Ford dealerships…never going there again…. They are terrible! 😊
The last were built on D-reg (19/12/86), but a few made to it E, F and there are even a couple of G-reg Capris (both 280s). I've seen some E-reg 2.8i Specials, which is odd as the last of the line 280 had been on sale for almost a year by then.
Hooray for the capri as it’s outlasted the mustang, who said British cars are crap,oh yea the Americans did,and look at the American car market,it’s collapsed🙏🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I had five Granada’s Mk1’s & 2’s loved them I also had two Capri’s a Mk1 2.0 GT & Mk2 3.0 Ghia terrible things to drive in the wet and winter conditions absolutely lethal and rusted nearly as bad as an Alfasud.😂
Capri was a bit of an embarrassing anachronism by the '80s. You could get the 2.0i S, XR4i or XR4x4 Sierras from '82-ish onwards, which were far more modern in looks, even if the engines were much the same.
So so so much wrong information about the car in this video, also, Roger Clark never campaigned a mk1 capri as a rally car......it was a mk1 escort, please do your research before releasing a video, and if you can only drive the car around an estate at the british car journey.....then I personally wouldn't have bothered, the last time that a 1.6 Kent engine was used in a capri was in 1973! The lad in this video clearly knows nothing about classic fords whatsoever......sorry......but thats a fact.
I had several Capri's in my younger days ranging from a MK1 1.6 ohv to a MK3 2.8 injection.. because of the length, rear wheel drive and power of a 2.8 if you gave it a bit too much gas on bends and roundabouts you were in a spin. Proper driving..
I was hoping you were going to drive one with a stick on hairy chest ,,,,,😊😊looking forward to the next video really good stuff , I work overseas but we did a chocolate run for the chaps in Iraq in the DBS . Wife made a 007 Spoof video ruclips.net/video/veAC7ppA4z4/видео.html thanks
I had a 2.0 Laser in the 90's and absolutely loved it. I was amazed how many heads it turned as I was driving along.
I had a 3.0S back in the day ...many a race with 2.8i ... rear end light in the wet
Lovely car and excellent video Sarah 🚗🚙🚘👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not many ladies can still look great with a tash. 😍😍 Only the 2.8 and 3 litre versions were real man's Capris 🤪
Love Sarah - adorable 🥰
Fun fact: The Capri was the first car ever featured on Top Gear. Angela Rippon in an almost new Mk2 in 1977.
This should be the Top Gear replacement! 🙂👍
The 3 ltr Mk1 was the best of them all.
I actually owned a Mk1 3000GT Crayford Capri in the 80's, wish I still had it.
@poolfarm2 I had a Mk1 3000E, I feel the same wish I still had mine
Yes the original and best!
Brilliant video ladie and gent takes me back to my youth oh dear 😂
Good to here from you Sara
I used to work with a mechanic that called them “Transit Coupe’s” 😂🤣😂
Drove the Capri for my 40th birthday, was a great experience, even if the steering was very heavy
Wuss! Power steering was for wimps back then..
4-cylinder by the sound if it?
My second car was a 1.6 LS I loved that car and still hanker for its big brother the 2.8
Great entertainment, had a Capri 2.0 back in the 80's funny enough a moustache too at the time. You needed a bag of cement in the 2.8 boot in the wet to try and stop it spinning out lol
My Dad had a 1.6 LX, in puke yellow/beige with a brown vinyl roof. Still remember the plate KRU646P
I just love you two doing these videos. So much fun ❤

Love the face merkin Crabbers. Much sexier than the Crapi! 😂😂🤣
love the paul calf look
Always wanted a capri back in the day but had to settle for my ferrari 😊
I had 2 Capris back in the day. Back when Capris were bangers and fell apart every time you drove them. I'd have another tomorrow.
SLE 71R, MJN 701V, EUC 223V & LTF 980P...The most famous Capri's i know😂😂😂
A nice little earner. Plus a bit of sweeney.
Fabulous car, I would like to drive one some day. the tash's were brilliantly funny.
Great seeing Sara always, and with the tash, very awkward lol ❤

By the later seasons of The Professionals, Bodie and Doyle both had 3.0S Capris.
who had the RS escort?
wish i still had my capri
Had a yellow mark 2 with black vinyl roof
Sarah still in Ford today - this time a new Mach 1 Mustang xx 😘
Mk II for me - that’s what Bodie drove in The Professionals; UOO 903T and a Mk III; OWC 827W
Wallace, IoW 😉
Always wanted a Capri as a teenager. Had to make do with a Mk2 Escort. 🤣
This was my first car after passing my test in a ford fiesta 😂

My old man bought a brand new Mk 3 1.6GL Crapi, silver, black vinyl roof and red velour interior.... quality 😂
Sarah reminded me of Paul carf 😂
🤣🤣🤣
That capri deffo needs a camshaft! I can hear it knocking its tits off 😂😂
Love Sarah, sassy and funny ❤

Lmao

why did you choose a 4 pot ? the only Capri worth its salt is a good old 3 litre or a 2.8i ... for those beasts you need a hairy chest
Hi - we drove the Laser as it’s part of the Drive Dads Car fleet 😊
I was hoping you were going to drive one with a stick on hairy chest ,,,,,😊😊looking forward to the next video really good stuff , I work overseas but we did a chocolate run for the chaps in Iraq in the DBS . Wife made a 007 Spoof video ruclips.net/video/veAC7ppA4z4/видео.html thanks
