I wasn't aware she'd left, Sarah was part reason I watched the series as I loved her quick wit and general sense of humour.
There really is such an almost indefinable thing as 'star quality' and Sarah certainly has it all. I've seen it so many times before.
It often comes down to something as simple as NOT being afraid of having a lens pointed at you - which causes many people to run for cover.
The best of TV presenters make it look very easy and it is not. Sarah is a 'natural'; ... just a bit of mentoring and it's all there.
what a great presenter ,sad she has left Bangers and cash I loved her in it .smily and happy x
Omg I did not know you left Sarah, other than the cars you were the only reason to watch the show , you are a gorgeous proper Yorkshire lass 🥰😘
Absolutely! A lovely and in my eyes sexy lady! Good luck to her!
@@reetpateet8656 Pity there are no low scores I'd give her 1!
Love Sarah on the Mathewsons programme, a bit of a saucy minx , great sense of humour, must be a laugh to work with, love your new channel
Thought she left them
Yes very attractive lady. Me I loved her dry sense of humour. She'd get that look in her eye and you'd know instinctively she was about to deliver a killer line. And she did.
Series isn't quite the same without her!
@@stevew3196 it's the first episode of new series today did look up where she was hence why im here but was just as good as usual dont get the series aint the same with out her part in your comment?
@@andrewparsons230 Agree, lots of great characters on the show male and female. Won't stop me looking on here as well though, as already said Sarah has a smashing personality on looks to match
Sarah, I've come out of mourning from your exit from Mathewsons and found your new home on youtube. Fabulous!
Nice to see you again Crabbers! I love a car that you can work on yourself that isn't computerised to death. Those were the days!
i love the show with her in it.did not know she had left.she had a good sense of humour and a quick wit with her answers.
Watch out for those pianos dropping from local acme helicopter transporters round the corner. 😂😂👍👍
Lovey to see Sarah and her Brother tackle these jobs together in such a nice, relaxed atmosphere with a good dose of humor.
I agree a nice mature approach and some great humour.
You would HAVE TO HAVE Humour.. heheh
I had an Ital once, not for long, it had cheap Eastern European tyres on, on wet roads it was like Bambi on ice. Every time it rained the boot filled with water. No wonder BL went bust 🤣
Sarah keep up the great vids, so pleased to see you again
Ivan is in good hands. Never seen a British Leyland in such good nick at that age. Lucky You..
You made that bangers n cash with your witty banter n saucy quips !!... hey..watch out for the trunions n balljoints knockin mine had to be changed every 6 months..miss you sarah xxx
Dying art making gaskets out of boxes!! Made plenty of gaskets that way as an apprentice 😊
My cars always ran on cornflakes boxes . 😂
I love this video, keep them coming! 👍
Thank you !!
Lovely amusing video. They seem a loving, fun family. Keep them videos coming.
Oh Sarah I’m so glad you have made a RUclips channel always enjoyed watching you on tv and now your here yay 😀 anyway love the Morris ital keep up the good content 👍🏻😊
Cheers !!
I'm glad somebody does appreciate these undervalued, stylish and comfortable cars! They had longer leafsprings than the MARINAS, which meant they were some of the most comfortable cars! And the improved "A - PLUS" version of the engine made it nice and quiet, too!
Loving the Ivan content! And pleasantly surprised at how solid he is! Keep up the good work Sarah 😊
On the show, Sarah always looked like infant school teacher desperately trying to control an unruly class of naughty school boys !😉🤣
I just enjoy watching the programme with all its presenters. It’s a shame when one leaves but change is part of life. If this lady is going on to bigger and better things, then I wish her good luck. I don’t know on which direction her channel is going and how it will evolve. I will stick with it to see how it goes
Looks really tidy, great condition. Car looks in good condition as well.
Great video, really enjoy seeing the ital being used . Sarah keep making videos Please 🙂
Great video,,🤣🤣,,love them older cars,,👍👍🤣
So sad Sara left show only reason to watch it ,need her back on TV ,a right lovely Yorkshire lass ,her partner one lucky lucky sod 😉
Lovely example Sarah, most splendid correct!
Some "experts" denounced the Marina as an awful car especially for handling. I often drove my colleague's Marina and found it a nice car to drive. It was a car to get from a to b in comfort. It's not for burning rubber or screaming round corners, nor should it be. Well done for finding such a good one.
I had two Marina's 1.8 Coupe and a 1.8 TC Jubilee., great cars. (yes I know it's not a Marina. . . bloody close though) Easily as easy to drive as a contemporary Escort, Avenger or a Hunter. As for not Burning rubber or screaming round corners... speak for your self. . . certainly taught me a load about car handling, sideways on a regular basis long before "Drifting" became trendy.
I’ve fallen in love with Sarah, what a girl.
Yes, a girl into classic cars and attractive too.
That's some ramps you got there! Makes working underneath so easy! Nice video crabbers.
I thought I hadn't seen u for a while on Bangers and Cash, you was the star of the show, with your quick wit. And your lovely friendly Yorkshire lassness x
Just sitting in cars from this era is an evocative experience. I was born in 1965 so 70s & early 80s cars were part of my childhood. The perfume of an old car is almost spiritual. I sat in a 70s Vauxhall Viva a while back and it was fascinating. You don't realise how far cars have come. The Viva felt antiquated in comparison but it had soul. The cars that have survived have so many memories. Just think of the stories they could tell. Trips to the seaside, lifts to school, taking dad to work, bringing home the vesta meals and the Ski yogurts. They're time machines!
That is what I think, the stories they could tell, bringing a new baby home for example,I have 4 classics but each has its own smell which takes you back to a better time!
Interesting ramp. It makes everything so much easier. I just have floor ramps which raise the car about eight inches. I'd put a sound-deadening pad under the bonnet - muffles the engine noise a lot. Love the wind-up windows. Shame it doesn't have front head rests. I used to own a 1974 Fiat X1/9 the same colour as your Ital. Love your accent, haven't heard the word 'gander' in years.
People rubbished these cars but the police used Itals and their cars driven 3 shifts 24/7 so must have been reliable. Love these ramps too, how easy, i used to have a pit in the garage but was always full of water. The amount of room you have to work in the engine bay, and the simplicity, why cant we have cars like this now. I lived in Longbridge where LEYLAND cars were built. The govt of the time sold them out whilst the French govt bailed out PSA who were in the same trouble. I had several Austin 1100 and 1300s and one twin su carb one. So comfortable.
Just found this channel …. Fab thanks
Looking at the condition of Ivan proves BL could make a decent car despite much mockery to the contrary. You Sarah and Steph from I drive a classic are great ambassadors for BL vehicles. Hope your Brother will keep featuring because he is really good.
Thank you !
Glad this popped up 😃 My first car was an Ital and when rust killed that I moved up in the world to an ex BT Ital van 😂 Had that about 10 years and loved it, never had a problem getting up Staxton or even Sutton Bank, helped me buy my first house so it's probably the best vehicle I've ever had 👍
Nice to see an Ital in such good nick, if I see on the roads round here I'll give you a wave 😂
Pleased to have found this channel and looking forward to more great videos!
What a superb Ital. Looking forward to see further adventures.
Great video, loving the series of videos! Can't be many Itals left now, its nice to see one in such amazing condition! 👍
Great Video! As I have heard said before, it is much more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slowly! Loving the brown Ital 👍🏻
Cracking vid, Sarah! Looking forward to more adventures with Ivan!
Loving your new channel, we always watch Bangers & Cash for you. That ramp is absolutely epic...
Thank you !
I used to have a morris ital van when i worked in the forestry industry . It was a hardy ol van . Rust finnally killed her . Love watchin sarah on bangers and cash shes witty and u look lovely as ever sarah . Gd luck with ivan . All the best hunni xx
Thank you
Back in the day my late dad had a few Morris Marina’s before he got an Ital. His Ital was the same brown colour. The video took me back to the days of a manual choke. Now I have a Mini Thirty which also has a manual choke. Great video showing your amazing motor.
Well done and I enjoyed both videos and I'm looking forward to seeing more. Also what an ingenious use of an old fridge artic trailer for a garage.
What a great ramp system. Never seen one like this before. Makes one want to get the old Karcher out and give the underside a good clean prior to applying Waxoyl.
Looking fabulous underneath your Ital. 10/10
Brilliant Sarah and Bro Pat, looking forward to seeing more.
Hey sar rah rah great to see you have a channel your sense of humour and quick wit is infectious. You're a good laugh and interesting. Glad to see that you like BL cars so do i they are classics. And well worth saving. Keep up the good work. Thanks mark jones.😁❤
Sarah....You are bloody lovely !!!.....So nice that you are not a car snob.....
Thanks !!
Love your new channel Sarah..! 😎👍
Lovely car, takes us auld farts back a bit! All the space in it, under the bonnet and in the boot, haha. The old card as gasket trick, works a treat!
Good job, car looks perfect and for it's age!
Cracking ramp !... what a solid car .
Good job, keep it going well, all completed with great humour and good banter. All the best Bob
Great vid Sarah and Ivan will outlast most of the modern stuff and that ramp wow
lovely to see Ivan the Ital on the move! so good you have your own channel Sarah, I wondered what you were doing after Bangers 💖😍🔧🛠 I'm looking forward to seeing you with spanners in hand!
She made the show with her funny sense of humour and I think the tv produces new that the men were drawn to her good luck 🤞 great video and views 👍🏻
Hi Sarah, from Cyprus, first time watcher, saw the previous videos on this car. totally enjoyable. keep up the good work. God bless
Thank you !
Enjoyable video and very interesting, and yes I had the same car many years ago,i think mine was a green color. thanks for this, its so nice to see these old cars kept running.
Made lots of gaskets out of solid cardboard and sealed em for my old bikes and old Mini. I was the 10th owner
Great Video
Thanks for sharing ❤️
lovin' your new channel. subscribed straight away looking forward to many more videos
Hello gorgeous! Glad to see a bit more of you 😘
I really like you and your old car. All the best with Ivan. I wish I had access to ramps like those. I'm using Owatrol oil which the boat people love. I expect to have to inspect and renew as needed as the underside is a harsh place being blasted with stones and salt. But we give much more attention to the top side don't we!
My uncle Eddie did loads of repairs on old minis, and austins, always had a cornflakes box to hand for making gaskets!
That and copper grease, his repairs were the best!
Brought back many happy memories of hot summer's with Eddie mending and me learning, looking over his shoulder!
Jesus, that is one serious ramp. great vid.
Great stuff, Sarah and Pat 👍
Great little show !
lovely car & lovely lady sarah is very nice keep up the good work ....xx
We never got the Ital here in New Zealand. I owned the last of its predecessor. 1981 Morris MK3 1700. Great car. Very comfortable and very reliable.
I knew Ivan would get up Staxton in 3rd, nice torque in those long stroke A series engines
Looks fantastic at 40!
Loving the home made ramps... think I’m gonna see if I’ve got a couple of tank tracks kicking around up the back of the garage.
Subscribed Sarah, great to see you on RUclips doing your own thing.
Love this ! What a cracking girl 👍😍
Really enjoying the videos Sarah, I absolutely love British Leyland motors, Mum had 3 Allegro's when I was a kid.
To Aaron Ibbetson : your mum and I would be pals, then! I only had ONE Allegro ( it lasted so long).I got mine when it was already 9 years old I sold it when it was 21 years old ( no rust). It had been anti rust treated from New. And I actually LIKE the shape - which to me looks "cute and cuddly". I don't care WHAT some people say - often they pick on cars that don't cost a fortune to buy - so they are just being snobs and deny anybody the right to own a Hillman Imp, or anything affordable.
That's pretty solid and tidy under there! Been well looked after 😊
Great video Sarah, plenty of laughs was had watching it :)
Cheers David !!
Sarah doing some great zoom in on pats bald patch 😂
I have subscribed to your new channel, and hope you enjoy
your new venture.
Ivan the Ital will be good for many more miles with some tlc.
They are the butt of many jokes, but the Marina / Ital are solid
simple transport and can be fixed at home.
Wow she out cruising with her brother how cool is that in one of Derek's bangers 😂😂😂
Awesome video you two. Really enjoyed that !
Cheers James
Morris Ital. my dads crappy car. Love it. He taught me to Drive in that car. So many memories.x
Fantastic stuff Sarah and a real trip down memory lane to my first car a 1972 Morris marina 1.3
Look forward to the next instalment.
It was lovely to meet you at the October Bicester scramble sorry for using the C word 🤔
Good luck with this new venture.
nice to see more of the Lovely Sarah.
I remember working for Southampton city council years ago , used to drive a Morris ital van . Nice drive but when you put any wait in the back the stearing became very light lol . Still fun to drive . Good luck with the channel Sarah .👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
He looks a really good example.will enjoy watching how you go on with him.have subscribed.and i love his name lol😀
Thank you for keeping a classic on the road
first time i used that oil, i was like"it's green!" lol.
Hi Sarah, great to see that you now have your own channel. Ivan is quite a find, and will live for any more years, especially if you get him Waxoyled underneath. Look forward to seeing more of your adventures with him. Best wishes.
Thank you!
Wow!! That is amazing underneath...my parents had a marina estate for about 7 years that never let us down!! Just rust killed it, always had a soft spot for BL products ..enjoying the videos...keep up the good work!!
I understand the nostalgia. I own a 98 Corolla manual with low kilometres here in Oz. Just love driving it.
That’s a rare beast, I thought they left the factory with rust as standard!
My dads Ital was the first car I ever drove, so this brought back memories!
Great to see you back keep your channel going
Loved it. xx
What a treat finding your channel. Keep the updates coming.
Cheers
Hi Sarah just subscribed to your channel that’s a cracking ital you have purchased can’t be many left in that condition real survivor car looking forward to your next update all the best…
Cheers !
Nice tidy car Sarah can't beat a bit of British leyland. I have just finished my austin maxi and used it for my wedding car great comfy cars. ☺
Keep an eye on that fuel pump, I skim watched this video, couldn't see whether it was 'first line' branded....hoping not! Happy motoring, and the force be with you, etc etc!
I had the Van version (Ex Gas Board, kept the livery :-) in the very early 90's. It was like the Tardis, could get all my plastering gear inside, including stands, hop-ups & Water Butt .... Never let me down in about 3 years until I took it to Mr Clutch for a new one (Didn't need it, but I thought - About time) Went to drive it away, it wouldn't start!! ... I barked at manager, he got it looked at - broken distributor cap - he said 'I' must've done it - HUH!! ?? .... After many hours waiting for part to arrive, it didn't! - Had to go back next day to collect it - Their worker accepted the blame so cost me no more ..... BUT! - that experience left that old Van PERMANENTLY engraved into my memory - Don't know why they used to get so much Flak! :-)
I serviced my Dad’s Marina before I could drive , looking at the engine bay it brings back memories! I used to top up the little pot on the SU carburettor with clean engine oil too. I have pics of the Marina with my first car which I still have an 81 Capri 2.8 !
A very nice very rare example - jolly well done!
An austin morris fan ! Great stuff , ill be signing up 😀
Hi !!!
...
Great old car .... just a very small suggestion ???
...
Next time the spark plugs are out ... maybe just spraying some very light release oil down into the bores and then squiring just a few drops of 2-stroke oil to lubricate the piston rings ???
...
And even a small amount of 2-stroke just added to a gallon of petrol and you'll find the engine will drive more quiet !!!
...
GREAT OLD CAR THOUGH !!!
Thank you 😊
@@Sarah-CrabbersCrabtree My Pleasure !!!
...
Try and avoid WD40 but any high quality penetrating oil ... then just crank the engine for a few second with the plugs out !!!
...
(it will be the first time in 40 years the top piston rings have enjoyed any oil..as they were "oiled" when fitted new)
...
Then just a few drops of 2-stroke then pop the old plugs back in and start "him" up and it'll "smoke" but the engine will appreciate it !!!
...
But ... Oh dear ... AREN'T NEW CARS SO BORING !!!
...
Your old car would look by the seaside :-)
...
MANY THANKS
