Didn't need to leave a comment, don't usually leave comments but felt that I had to in this case. THIS is how a "how to" video should be made. Explains everything even the small stuff because not everyone is an expert. Made a mistake, didn't edit it out, used it as a teaching tool. Great job all round. Thanks
I'm a 70 year old grandma replacing my kitchen sink for the first time. I recently finished painting my house, shed and all the porches and railings. Replaced the horizontal and base exterior trim that was rotten, was up on my roof painting the dormer. Installed a screen door. Removed a kitchen cabinet that was out over a peninsula bar counter to open the space more. Patched the opening with dry wall, painted, and cut the molding to fit. Plan to paint my oak kitchen cabinets soon by using grain filler first, sand til smooth and then paint. I have no fear of replacing my kitchen sink (and disconnect the RO system too), thanks to this video. Thank you!!
Hey grandma I’m trying to renovate our kitchen while my husband is at work. I was at a point of giving up with how complicating just removing the sink could be. With this video and your comment, I will keep going. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this helpful video. I'm a 70 year old female replacing a kitchen sink and faucet for the first time. You have taken my fears away.
I am getting ready to replace a stainless steel 2 tub sink to a stainless steel 1 tub sink. Currently have a disposal but am getting rid of it as my pipes are not the best under the house and gets plugged if the disposal is not used correctly. Having kids has caused me to snake it 3 times. I am just going to get rid of it and all food will go in a container now and then thrown away. Plus I will have more room under my sink for storage. I absolutely loved the clear, direct and simple instructions given so that even a woman and her daughter can do this. Thank you so much! I have always enjoyed DIY and learning new things. I like to know I put the work into my own home!
Like someone else said before me, didn’t need to leave a comment because Adam has done such an excellent job but leaving one to recognize him fir his effort. Rock on brother!
I put in a new sink that uses those clips two days ago. Oddly enough, I installed the old sink with a roommate over 42 years ago, lol! I guess I got my nickel's worth out of the old sink. My install was miserable due to tight spaces that didn't allow my hands to install the new clips. Finally, I invented a tool made by drilling a hole in the end of a sawed-ff broom handle that allowed me to lift the new clips, slip them in the rails, and position them correctly. I hope I am dead before I have to do that again, six hours under a sink was awful. I also had to trim drain pipes, just like you showed. Great video, thanks for posting it!
I’m starting a job with a kitchen/bath renovation company. Some of the work will be a little out of my regular wheelhouse so I really appreciated this video.
“this old house” WHO?! First time I’m looking into a diy project without having to reference 11 different videos for all the information I need. You’re doing Gods work with these tutorials partner.
Just what I needed. I have been in construction and built my own cabinets but when you are out of it for so long. These RUclips's are awesome reminders as I was just looking for what type of clip to use as the sink was used.
Thanks for posting this video. I had a very similar situation and was able to do all the work myself thanks to this guide. Took me about 4 hours on my own but I work slowly.
Hey man, great video! I had to comment because I’ve been watching a lot of these DIY videos as I’ve been upgrading the house and this one was perfect. Clear, concise, good camera work, and easy to understand. I subscribed! Keep doing what you are doing!
Recently updated my kitchen sink for the first time, a lot of your advice was spot on and really helpful! However one snag I ran into was I thought a 22”x33” sink was a 22”x33” sink….i was wrong!!!! 😂 I spent a bit of time, sweat and many many profanities with a jigsaw cutting my counter top to make room for the new sink. My handyman work was….lets just say, less than professional looking, but fortunately the new sink covered it up…mostly…thanks again! Cheers!
When cutting plastic pipe with a saw you should always deburr the pipe inside and outside, otherwise solid stringy particles can get caught on inside burrs and build up restriction. This is especialy true for bathroom vanity drains, hair catches on the burrs.
Thanks for sharing. You explained the process very clearly. I m replacing our white cast iron sink with a used stainless sink I bought. The sink even came with a faucet. The stainless is in very good condition. But the sink has a bow and it came with only one rusted clip. None of the clips I bought would work. I finally found the exact clips on Amazon and currently waiting for them to arrive. So I’m hoping with plumbers paddy and tightening the clips down the sink will lay flush over the counter.
I am so happy I decided to consult you tube before I got any further than I have. My cold water pipe was leaking into my my kitchen causing the linoleum to buckle. The workers are replacing the floors. It's as good a time as any to replace the ugly 1980's sink and plastic faucet. I was going to get an el cheapo sink but now I'm going to rethink this and go with a better grade, making sure the sink is the same depth as the old one. I'm also going to let someone who knows what they are doing rather than having my 80+ yo husband attempt it.
Nice job on the video. When tightening the sink-counter clamps (from beneath) I put a little piece of tubing on the end of my long screwdriver, it eliminates a lot of frustration trying to center the screw and screwdriver.
Adorable kid! I know you’re enjoying the heck out of raising him ( and any siblings he may have also.) enjoy it, before you know it, they’re big and grown up! I have four boys! Anyway, great video. It was very helpful.
❤🎉Happy Thanksgivings! First time in life to replace a new sink by myself with my husband work together after we watched your clip 10 -20 times. Then we finally started to work on during holiday break. After a deep breath, I took out first pipe under kitchen sink. Feeling cool!
if you dont have a helper use something heavy to hold the top of the disposal down helped me a ton when i swapped mine out....instead of pulling it out and starting over
Great video. I like your style! Will be tackling this project tomorrow. Your techniques and tips are very helpful. We live in the country with septic system and composting...so no garbage disposal to deal with. Thankfully.
It's actually not much different, just half the work of putting the drains together and a minor alteration going from a tee connection to a wye (mostly for your vent stack). Beyond that, he's already shown how to put in a disposal, so just take your pick on drain or disposal!
Suggestion for first timers, find the thickest softest old blanket or cushion you can find. Laying on your back doing this process can be painful without it.
Alex Moore this is a neat comment. Can you elaborate a little more? Do you spray the window cleaner on top of the wet silicone? Does it weaken the integrity of the seal?
I realize the whole assembly would be heavier to lift into place but why didnt you put the disposal on before you installed the sink, was there a reason? However very good video with thorough instructions. Thank you
Hello I'm not a computer guy, so I can't go to your inter gram to follow, but I'm about doing sink next week, I know this video 3 yrs ago so I'm not that luck to have that tool.. but if you can please let me know where I can buy one.. thanks 👍👍👍
Great job. I just ordered a new sink and its 18 G. I hope that means its a quality sink. The one we picked out is a large single bowl that is replacing a twin bowl sink. Very builders grade.
Great Video. My eyes are not good. When you siliconed the faucet to the stainless steel tub did you use white silicone? Is it better to use plumber's putty to mount tub than silicone in case you have to change the sink again? Thanks

Yes I Strongly agree
I agree!

I'ma 56 year old replacing a kitchen sink for the first time.
I came back here after installing our Kitchen sink, just to say thank you for the excellent tutorial you made!
Casual perfection!
Very well done.
And thanks! .....for NOT having 30 seconds of loud music, etc as an intro. !! I appreciate you are quick and concise. Few words! Good.
I greatly appreciate the amount of care you take to explain everything thoroughly

This video helped SO much. Went from a 2 drain ceramic sink to a single drain stainless steel and this video addressed everything. Thank you!!!
This is the video I was looking for. Easy to understand, clear and nicely edited. Great job!
Like someone else said before me, didn’t need to leave a comment because Adam has done such an excellent job but leaving one to recognize him fir his effort. Rock on brother!
one of the best DIY videos I've seen. You and your son should have a TV show.

Man I am so confident after watching your video. Bro, this was great! Saturday is the day lol!
awesome job .
Don't forget to pop the dishwasher cap with a screwdriver or something.
yes, i had to learn that lesson the hard way! I couldn't figure out why the dishwasher wouldn't drain. LOL.
Thanks for posting this video. I had a very similar situation and was able to do all the work myself thanks to this guide. Took me about 4 hours on my own but I work slowly.
Slow and steady is the best way
Great video! I am a DIY guy and I learned a bunch of "little" tips to make it go easier! Thank you!!!

bwereviews - I also like that there was NO music. some guys try to go pro and have either lame music or bad sound levels.
This is an EXTREAMLY helpful video. Covers everything in simple detail. Thanks so much.
I can't thank you enough for doing such a thorough and easy to follow video!

Clear explanations. Like how you took the time to clarify and explain the small things. Thank you!

This was short & sweet which made my project short & sweet! Thanks!!!
Really appreciate this video. I probably watched 20 tonight and yours was by far the most helpful. Thank you very much
Very good video that was straight to the point. Everyone knows that plumbing can be a nightmare...you made it a dream.
Nice job on the video. When tightening the sink-counter clamps (from beneath) I put a little piece of tubing on the end of my long screwdriver, it eliminates a lot of frustration trying to center the screw and screwdriver.
I Didn’t know how to install the sink clips first timer thank you and much appreciated for sharing in video.
Adorable kid! I know you’re enjoying the heck out of raising him ( and any siblings he may have also.) enjoy it, before you know it, they’re big and grown up! I have four boys! Anyway, great video. It was very helpful.
I think you did a nice job explaining. I want to switch from a 50 year old sink to a stainless steel. Now I know to look for a heavier one :-)). TY.
I wanna do myself but I’m not good at that skill…
Do I need to turn water valve off when I remove an old sink?
❤🎉Happy Thanksgivings!

Feeling cool!
A great video to watch before going to Lowes haha, would of forgot the putty for sure haha
Exactly what I needed so I could get all the supplies and feel confident about replacing our kitchen sink tomorrow. Thank you!
I just got the new kitchen sink installed. Thank you for all your assistance.
Great video, clean and well explained installation, thank you.
That's great guide, man. Every word, every shot right to the spot.
You did such a great job explaining. I almost want to do my replacement myself 😎👷🏼
You might mention a bit on removing the disposal drain plug for the dishwasher, just in case they put in a new disposal unit. Good video.
My brother in law didn't remove a small black plug covering the disposal inlet. It was very hard to see.
Been there, done that. It was a bit messy.
This video is going to save me a lot of money.
You really did a good job by making us understanding, and learning from your experience. Thanks
I like to attach all the plumbing I can before dropping in the sink. Like u said...so much easier.
if you dont have a helper use something heavy to hold the top of the disposal down helped me a ton when i swapped mine out....instead of pulling it out and starting over
Exactly what I needed to see. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. Much appreciated! 👍
thank you for the video, getting ready to replace my kitchen sink...
Thank you for this awesome video..need to replace sink ,this was easy to follow..just subscribed!
Thanks, I now have a false sense of confidence to get this done over Christmas break!
Haha I was thinking the same thing! I’ve had the new sink since sept but still havent found a faucet I like.
I've never seen those disposer lift tools, they are pretty sweet I've never seen them in stores
I LIKE THE VIDEO. Using Caulk or Silicone on the counter is less messy I think 🤔.
Thank you for all that experience you shared with us. You are expert.
Would you suggest also running a bead of silicone around the whole seam of where the sink and countertop meet?
Thx for the tip on the disposer tool.
Thanks for the video! I’m about to attempt this myself. I started off not even knowing what tools were needed lol I’m not much of a handy woman!
How did it go?
This was put together very well, thank you
Great job! 👍 You really know how to explain things thoroughly. I will day however....isn't that the wrong kind of outlet for under a sink??
Great Video!!! God is helping me Learn Through Great People like you God Bless you Sir.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Helpful video trying to do some diy myself this helps a lot thank you
Nicely done. Very clear and straightforward.
Thanks for the video. Helping me a lot. Great video. I'm from Mexico
ok
Have that same POS sink (new one). Previous owner had the same thought as these yahoos. Now here I am, watching how to replace it.
more silicone or putty is better than less
great video perfect explanations and your on point!
\
Thank you so much it helped me a lot now I can put in my sink. Thank again.
Saved as my favorites!! Awesome!!
great video, very professional.
Great video. I like your style! Will be tackling this project tomorrow. Your techniques and tips are very helpful. We live in the country with septic system and composting...so no garbage disposal to deal with. Thankfully.
I've got a septic tank but no compost heap. So, I like the garbage disposal to make sure nothing clogs on the way to the septic tank.
Thank you, Adam. This is very helpful and detailed.
Very easy DIY to follow.
Was wondering if you could put a list of tools at the beginning of the video. Cause I made a couple extra trips for tools 😅
Hi! What about converting a 2 double drain to a single drain??
Yes please make a video on this.
It's actually not much different, just half the work of putting the drains together and a minor alteration going from a tee connection to a wye (mostly for your vent stack). Beyond that, he's already shown how to put in a disposal, so just take your pick on drain or disposal!
One of the best diy videos... Thanks
Can you please list out all the tools here and where can you buy it? Thanks as I want to do this myself.
Suggestion for first timers, find the thickest softest old blanket or cushion you can find. Laying on your back doing this process can be painful without it.
you can use a window cleaner like sprayway window cleaner on the silicone and it makes it really easy to clean off and spread
Alex Moore this is a neat comment. Can you elaborate a little more? Do you spray the window cleaner on top of the wet silicone? Does it weaken the integrity of the seal?
This is extremely helpful, thank you SO much!
Great video , thank you.😊😊😊
Excellent video, extremely helpful. Thanks!
Excellent video!!! Thank you!
Fantastic video
I realize the whole assembly would be heavier to lift into place but why didnt you put the disposal on before you installed the sink, was there a reason? However very good video with thorough instructions. Thank you
Is it necessary to get new drains when installing a sink?
Hello I'm not a computer guy, so I can't go to your inter gram to follow, but I'm about doing sink next week, I know this video 3 yrs ago so I'm not that luck to have that tool.. but if you can please let me know where I can buy one.. thanks 👍👍👍
Excellent job! Crystal clear.
Do you need to let the plumbers putty or silicone “cure” or dry for a certain amount of time?
Possible question the kitchen basin how long and width
question: silicone under baseplant for faucet or putty? Looks like you got putty but you said you put a bead of silicone.
Great job. I just ordered a new sink and its 18 G. I hope that means its a quality sink. The one we picked out is a large single bowl that is replacing a twin bowl sink. Very builders grade.
craigsclocks With the gauges on stainless steel sinks, lower numbers are thicker. 18 gauge, if I remember, is one of the thickest.
I'm not sure what the best sinks are but I think my 18g recently from lowes was the heaviest they carry. Should be fine.
Very simple instructions.
Your video was very helpful. We saved some money. Thank you!
Can u also hook up garage disposal on sink before u drop sink in
Thanks! I'm about to do this.
Great Video. My eyes are not good. When you siliconed the faucet to the stainless steel tub did you use white silicone? Is it better to use plumber's putty to mount tub than silicone in case you have to change the sink again? Thanks
If I have a two drain sink, can I switch it to a one?
this was really valuable information thank you
good job thanks for the tips
I like that tool. Just installed a new one yesterday.... that tool would've been handy.
Did this last summer , was a little tricky but got it done , Thanks for the video.
thanks for infomative diy,
