So the heavy tub doesn't fall on your face. Put a 2 by 4 4 feet long piece of wood on top of your countertop above the sink tubs wrap some thick wire or rope on the wood put the wire or rope down through the drain hole of the old tub tide the wires together at the drain so it can hold the weight of the tub from dropping down on you . Hope this helps.
👍
Thank you. You may have saved my face. I had just started taking stuff off--hoses, clamps, etc. randomly. I did see one tab and was clueless what it did. Maybe there was more. At the point I realized I was endangering myself, I still needed to crawl under to get off the disposal, and one more water line. So, I put a 2x4 across and bailing water down the left drain hole. Then I carefully took out the disposal without getting underneath. Now, I've added more bailing wire on that drain hole. Next I'm gonna crawl back under and see what's left to do.
Nice video, thanks for the helpful tips with the cast iron sink removal
Thanks for the video. I have the same sink that I hope to replace with a 33x22 porcelain drop in. Is it safe to assume it will fit? The ring on the old one measures 33x22. Hate to pull it out only to find the hole is too big.
@@dalelanger3355 I would get the new one and measure it 1st
Thanks for the tips!
Wow !! Hey thanks for this video !!! I am removing a cast iron with double drain boards with the same type ring around the sink. We are getting new countertops and sink and I have to get this out myself or pay them to cut it out of there. This is really going to help me in getting mine removed. Thanks much. And hey ,,,,,, your new sink looks great, good job.
Awesome, good luck and be careful 👍
Thanks!! Great info!!
Really helpful videos!
Thnx brother 👍
Thanks!! Great information.
We are currently replacing a cast iron sink with stainless steel. We had to go full stop tonight as realize how heavy it is. What are your thoughts on possibly using an engine hoist to remove it?
Whatever works for you
Can the ring be removed without removing the sink?
No, the sink will fall
Thank you!
Oh this is going to be fun. Ugh
get some help, be careful
I took one of these sinks straight to the face earlier this week lmao showed absolutely no sign of moving until the last screw
Dude nasty, hope you're ok
What if there are no screws and is just floating on countertop
If its a self rimming sink you should be able to just pull it out from the top
Why do you have a double bowl sink. I’m fixing to replace my double bowl with a single bowl.
Go for it
Why would you put in a junk steel sink if you had a nice cast iron sink?
What size 33 by 22 inch ?
Yes, pretty standard size
