I'm glad the room was full for this, it's among the most impressive feats done for AGDQ. yoshifan may make it look easy, but all of the hype surrounding the difficulty is no joke. Super impressive.
Wow, absolutely amazing. Found this from hearing about AGDQ for the first time. Very impressive! As someone who has gotten all the characters, tracks, and beaten all difficulties on both story and GP mode, this is one of the hardest games I've ever done. Normal kicked my ass when this came out, so I have no idea how I managed to beat very hard.@_@;;
I asked you on twitch how you did it, you said " a LOT of retries" anyway, good to see brainscratch members showing support here, did you see CGN's run?
So in the description, I looked at some of the links, and, I had no idea that speed running was that big, jesus guys, do you ever sleep? Oh, and good job, kicking cancer in the ass with this marathon!
I think the fact that Yoshifan did this on a live stream is just incredible, this is one of the best runs i've ever seen in any of the AGDQ or even SGDQ marathons.
Man... it was such a struggle to beat the Very Hard chapters back in the day (and man, you are sooooo proud, when you pull it off) and he just kills the game. Insane. His skill is amazing.
I had a rough time in story mode on this game, especially the higher difficulties. In the regular races, though, I was the best among my buddies. One of them actually used to get mad at me because I used the Hyper Speeder, which has really good top speed, at which point I always reminded him that I had to basically make no mistakes, or someone with even mediocre accel and boost would destroy me.
The main friend I beat all the time was always beating the hell out of me at Smash Bros. Melee, so I slaughtered him in F-Zero GX and Soul Calibur 2. Seemed fair. :)
No editing necessary. I got a lot of feedback from viewers saying they would rather have the FULL videos unedited as they enjoy the chatter and interaction of all the runners
He makes this look so easy. Beating all these on very hard took me a year. Especially nos. 3, 5, 7, and 9. Those each took probably 2 months to do each.
+TheVideoGametuts It was the first one on Very Hard that I tried and I just wasn't very good at the game yet. I agree that it's not nearly as hard as the other ones I mentioned.
Mike89 is really funny here. All: "Wow! He just killed Black Shadow & Blood Falcon on the first lap!" Mike89: "I've done that ONCE!" All: "Wow, he cleared all the boulders and dominated!" Mike89: "I've done that ONCE!" =P Great run, YoshiFan.
When I completed Very Hard, I did all the chapters backwards, but it's only because the first chapter was so goddamn hard compared to the others, but when I finally got Phoenix I jumped for joy.
What I noticed about the rage inducing mission 7 is that at first, Black Shadow is the main enemy but once you get the hang of destroying the Black Bull, your main opponent becomes Blood Falcon who is actually rather difficult to defeat because he's always ahead and catching up is difficult while avoiding walls, keeping your speed up, and conserving your energy...
In Mission 5, I remember hitting the door several times before it actually launched me off the ramp. Yoshifan is really good at this game though. I remember all these stages on hard mode being incredibly hard. The room appears to be in awe when watching the races.
I've beaten the very hard missions. But beating them back to back is incredible. To be able to repeat success over and over is completely different from me beating it once in 200 tries.
The trick is that they're a lot more forgiving than they make themselves out to be. I beat the last three by memorizing the sneakier turns and figuring out the few spots where it's safe to boost like a madman.
At xGDQs there is something called 'serious time'. When serious time is called by the runner, everyone shuts up. If yoshifan wanted serious time he would have asked for it. Therefore he was fine.
I was only doing it for the Magic Seagull. Had I known you only needed to beat all the chapters on Hard instead of Very Hard, that's what I would have done. I did try to beat the 9th Chapter on Very Hard, but by that point I was burned out on the game - and my inspiration for beating everything on Very Hard was to unlock Spade. With spade unlocked, I just didn't care. At least I have one more challenge to look forward to when I get the Wii out again. : D I WILL beat it eventually.
As soon as I realized it was the Asian in the middle who was playing, I immediately had high hopes for this video. Two levels in and I'm not disappointed in the slightest.
Use the Fat Shark if you've unlocked it, if only so you won't have to fight it. You also get an extra life if you retire 5 guys in one race, plus if you manage to shuffle the ranking around enough, you won't even have to get first in any race. Play on full Max Speed to build a wide lead in lap 1, as well as in tracks with long boostless stretches (like Lateral Shift). Also, if by the last course you lead by more than 85 pts, you can finish 30th and still win the GP.
after watching this i wanted this game sooooo bad....after seeing the amazon prices that $30 at the very cheapest i was lucky to find a copy at my local gamestop....it was the only copy in the state of PA they said...and they have a 75% off sale on all Gamecube games they have left in stock..i payed $1.13 for basically brand new copy of the game....check your local Gamestop! sometimes they have some pretty awesome hard to find games for dirt cheap! and great runs guys keep it up!
My favourite racing game. I've completed very hard mode twice. For me the hardest missions are 1, 5 and 7. I don't remember finding 7 that hard the first time I completed it, I must have just got lucky. The second time though it must have taken me about 100 tries. Master difficulty grand prix is very easy in comparison. Infuriatingly difficult, but I like it because of that. To get 7 done within 2 tries is crazy.
I'm glad the room was full for this, it's among the most impressive feats done for AGDQ. yoshifan may make it look easy, but all of the hype surrounding the difficulty is no joke. Super impressive.
I forgot how much more chill the previous AGDQs were compared to now
Less troons
Run starts 14:59
BIueharvest even now your comment is helping the masses
what i like about f-zero gx is that it's completely skill-based
***** thanks for the +1'd
*le on WR pace*
*le rubber banding puts you in 2nd*
@@ph03n1xm9 Story mode is completely skill based. Races with CPUs is Mario Kart, but you're racing 29 Blue Shells.
No it's not. The game is hard but the ai rubber band so hard to you. It's so obvious to see on story mode
The guys on the couch did an amazing job of hyping this run up as it went along. Made it a lot of fun to watch - made you cheer Yoshifan on.

To be fair, they probably had to spend hours, days, maybe even weeks preparing to do this Speed Run.
Should have seen CGN's run this year at AGDQ. It was insane. Definitely worth a watch when SDA puts it up.
I saw the Let's Play you guys did. It seriously shows how balls to the wall difficult the game is.
I asked you on twitch how you did it, you said " a LOT of retries" anyway, good to see brainscratch members showing support here, did you see CGN's run?
+️ ️ well he IS the Human TAS
Society may call him a nerd.....
His gameplay is absolutely impressive... A true gamer
GAMERS RIDE UP
Nerd or not, ain't nobody messing with that chin. Dude makes Giga-Chad seem like a beta with that thing.
If he is a nerd he's a cool nerd. You can be quiet introvert and still be cool 😎
This run is so sick. I love how the couch dudes hype up Yoshi too. I checked out CGN's runs and their ballistic. So sick. Nice job guys.
So in the description, I looked at some of the links, and, I had no idea that speed running was that big, jesus guys, do you ever sleep? Oh, and good job, kicking cancer in the ass with this marathon!

This was definitely one of my favorite runs of the marathon.
same
@@whatsoup fuck I'm old
Thanks for upload this one..that's the best speedrun that I could expect to find on your page. Thanks from an Italian fan of F-Zero saga XD
Truly amazing work Yoshifan!
That was amazing! Very well done. The commentary was nice too.
Well, and very great job for this run !
And the commentary during this !
..and of course for your singer at the end x)
I watched this years back but didn't notice Werster sitting in the back completely blown away
Right haha
14:57 run starts
Thank you.

One of them actually used to get mad at me because I used the Hyper Speeder, which has really good top speed, at which point I always reminded him that I had to basically make no mistakes, or someone with even mediocre accel and boost would destroy me.
Hyper Speeder was my pick as well, but I liked to switch to characters like EAD just to give my buddies a chance.
The main friend I beat all the time was always beating the hell out of me at Smash Bros. Melee, so I slaughtered him in F-Zero GX and Soul Calibur 2. Seemed fair. :)
I remember watching this before, and this run is AMAZING. Serious props.
No editing necessary. I got a lot of feedback from viewers saying they would rather have the FULL videos unedited as they enjoy the chatter and interaction of all the runners
Yoshi is a badass
This was one of the best of AGDQ2013. Here's to next year passing half a million dollars. :)
This is the most exciting run in the entire AGDQ 2013 for me, and I don't even really care about F-Zero.
Nice run, I was thinking this was going to be CGN, but oh well, just the fact he completes it is good enough. :p
thanks for uploading this... you're all doing a great job/initiative!
I love F-ZeroX for the N64, have to get this one too... :-)
Oh god, the guys singing the credits at the end, that was simply marvelous.
Tomoko is so erotic
I didn't know Yoshifan did this!! This is great!! :D
agreed. Incredible skill right here by yoshifan
Idk how i got here but wow a recent F-zero GX video! subscribed.
He makes this look so easy. Beating all these on very hard took me a year. Especially nos. 3, 5, 7, and 9. Those each took probably 2 months to do each.
+illegitimate0 Chapter 3? Cmon man. I'm no pro at all and I literally beat ch. 3 after like maybe 7 tries.
+TheVideoGametuts It was the first one on Very Hard that I tried and I just wasn't very good at the game yet. I agree that it's not nearly as hard as the other ones I mentioned.
chapter 3 was the only one i did on very hard on pc on emulator
I would have LOVED to have been there. F-Zero GX FTW
BEST game ever made, so happy this was one of the games included. In my opinion it definitely transcends the "awesome" category ;)
guy on the far left (on couch) looks like he listens to Immolation.
Oh the pain of beating this game in very hard, and playing it again years later only to discover you have lost all your skills... Fantastic run!
He makes this look so easy. F-zero GX is one of the hardest GC games I've played.
Mike89 is really funny here.
All: "Wow! He just killed Black Shadow & Blood Falcon on the first lap!"
Mike89: "I've done that ONCE!"
All: "Wow, he cleared all the boulders and dominated!"
Mike89: "I've done that ONCE!"
=P Great run, YoshiFan.
Run starts at 14:58
Wow, Even tho this years GX Run was AWESOME I forgot how well awesome last year was.
I'm so relieved that there are actually people that still support F-Zero GX and other F-Zero games. I wish Nintendo did
Run starts at 15:00.
Can't agree with this more, possibly my favourite run to watch purely for these guys commentating on the run.
when AGDQ first started i used to cut right to when the run started but people prefer it the way it is currently.
f zero GX speed run!!! you guys are the best!!!
When I completed Very Hard, I did all the chapters backwards, but it's only because the first chapter was so goddamn hard compared to the others, but when I finally got Phoenix I jumped for joy.
Awesome Songs Sung Quick
Well, that inspired me to finish story mode on very hard.
so did you do it or are you still stuck on it 3 years later?
yo he is so good at this game, good shit yoshifan
What I noticed about the rage inducing mission 7 is that at first, Black Shadow is the main enemy but once you get the hang of destroying the Black Bull, your main opponent becomes Blood Falcon who is actually rather difficult to defeat because he's always ahead and catching up is difficult while avoiding walls, keeping your speed up, and conserving your energy...
I love how he just sits there and blasts through the game practically ignoring the two guys talking.
They mentioned this amazing player called CGN, who is a god at this game. He is running the game at AGDQ 2014.
People who can do GX Story on Very Hard are the true creators of the universe
awesome game awesome run awesome speed demos archive !!!!
Well... that was the coolest thing I've ever seen.
I just finished watching this run and my brain is still trying to process what the fuck just happened. Yoshifan is a beast.
In Mission 5, I remember hitting the door several times before it actually launched me off the ramp. Yoshifan is really good at this game though. I remember all these stages on hard mode being incredibly hard. The room appears to be in awe when watching the races.
I like how the donation guy actually lets them talk about the game
Alright, I watched the one from this year, and I gotta say.....
This one is much better.
While I miss the sick looking double tap dives and drift boosting from F Zero X, i still enjoy the precision of GX
I hated both.
full disclosure ' To be all the way completely full frontaly all the way up front honest with you -
I don't even like vode games.
one of my favorite runs this year : )
aw you guys! keep up the good videos.
Taking out Chain's entire crew? Excellent!
I Love how happy he smiles when they clap :)
I got this game on EBay because of this run. It's a great game.
Straight beastin
you guys kick so much ass! love this channel.
I've beaten the very hard missions. But beating them back to back is incredible. To be able to repeat success over and over is completely different from me beating it once in 200 tries.
I finally beat my last story mission on very hard. This guy and a lot of other players make it look so easy.
15:00 is when it starts
this was the highlight of the marathon for me. :) Also runnerguy's oot 100%
Yoshifan is amazing!
I like it this way. Feels more like you're watching the stream :)
I am here for the ending credits song
you're welcome!
The trick is that they're a lot more forgiving than they make themselves out to be. I beat the last three by memorizing the sneakier turns and figuring out the few spots where it's safe to boost like a madman.

F-Zero GX is already the hypest shit!
If you aren't hyped in the first place, then welcome to last place!
yoshi is the shit. i havent seen gameplay of this game since 64, wicked impressed. my 6 year old self would be shitting himself.
The World needs a Nintendo Wii-U version of F-Zero imagine the Speed and the graphics
True
the guys on the couch are really congenial, also the one who's explaining from the 'OFF' every now and then... :-))
absolute mad lad
I beat it on Very Hard, but not anywhere near the skill Yoshi-fan did.
F-Zero GX, the greatest racing game ever made.
Incredible run!
Wow this was just incredible.
I've had GX for 9 years and have only beaten like 2 missions on very hard and haven't even unlocked AX cup.
Needless to say I wish I was this skilled.
i think you have to try this game before you really can appreciate this... i got like 4 very hard modes completed and its no fun... good job here!
YoshiFan never moves his mouth.
Impressive as heck.

Knocking out Blood Falcon and Black Shadow in chapter 7 was impressive.
That was nuts....yoshifan is god....We getting Sonic Generations next?
As soon as I realized it was the Asian in the middle who was playing, I immediately had high hopes for this video. Two levels in and I'm not disappointed in the slightest.
What a weird comment
@@sentienceRemains I'm not sure what's weirder. My original comment (from 7 years ago, no less) or the fact that someone commented on it.
You’re biased tho bc it’s your weird comment

Things to point out:
During the final chapter yoshifan has a halo above his head.
Also, what's with his body and voice?
OMG yes ^_^ you did my fav game
