I come watch this run at least twice a year because it's my favorite SNES platformer and my favorite gdq run ever. Technical, fun to watch and great couch that's knowledgeable and entertaining. A+
I want a remastered version of Aladdin on DVD and Blu-ray with this couch doing the voices, "wow" included. By the way: Good couch, good run, good audience, good event... You cant' ask for anythin better than this.
This is probably my favorite agdq run of all time. Personally this game is one of the most nostalgic of my SNES days. Super good run (minus the 1 death) and of course the excellent commentary. EXEMPLARY!
That was pretty entertaining! Also, apparently I could've been speed running this game as a kid. I enjoyed this game so much, that I would routinely play it and finish around 25 minutes or so. Of course, I didn't know speed running was a thing back then.
I actually beat this game as a child. Every saturday I played this, til I actually git gud....and man, when I tried it again as an adult, it's murdering me.
This was the first game I ever played and that lava auto scroller fucked me up so much. I could never beat it...forget about the genie level. Also my uncle used to beat it so easily I was like wuh how?!
I remembered taking forever to beat that level too. I had all the passwords written down for this game. But the most frustrating/rage-inducing levels for me were the genie ones, mostly because of how happy everything was in contrast. The difficulty felt like the game was trolling me. I also only made it to the first boss a couple of years after I got the game.
i so hope they return next year, don´t care if they play Aladdin again. This is simply a couch having a time of their life!. Funniest and best guys ever at AGDQ!. xD "Wow, does that feel good?" xD
+ValensBellator I never can tell if people are saying that seriously. I didn't play the genesis version until way after the SNES version, but when I did I thought it was pretty bad in contrast. Not at all fluid controls, the graphics were rougher and the colors a bit gross, the music didn't sound right, and the levels were a bit of a mess. But, it had more complex animations.
Shawn Wesley We certainly are serious! :p While most people tend to favor the version they played first, enough of us who played both favor the Genesis that it's usually on the short list of games where the Genesis has the superior version. Overall, the music is superior (one of the rare times I prefer Genesis music), the animation was done by actual Disney animators which is why it has that Disney look as opposed to the different style on the SNES, and the inclusion of things like the increased Apple count and sword make it (for many) a more enjoyable game. The voters of Kotaku seem to agree, with 58% of about 20,500 voters choosing the Genesis compared to 38.5% for the SNES version (a few choose the "other version" option). Factor in that the designer of Capcom's SNES version Shinji Shikami (of resident evil fame) prefers the Genesis version and that the SNES port was primarily a Capcom copy of the original Genesis version (as it came first), and it certainly doesn't seem unreasonable to feel that, in this case, Sega offered the better option. kotaku.com/5922549/lets-settle-this-once-and-for-all-genesis-aladdin-or-super-nes-aladdin
I appreciate that sometimes I'm in the minority. I really just can't concede this point, however. And the opinion of Kotaku readers is irrelevant (don't tell them that, though). But it is what it is.
I played the Genesis version growing up, and even I can say the SNES version is overall better. The Genesis version's platforming was wonky and led to deaths that shouldn't happen. Also, people continually point to the sword on Genesis as a plus, while also trying to say Genesis is better bc it "follows the movie more". Uh...hello, Aladdin had no sword in the movie. He was a homeless dude. Also the sword, like the platforming, is wonky and has a tendency not to work right.
I remember playin a fuckin alladdin game for 2 minutes the enemies in that game did a "come hither" gesture with their fingers like their about to show you a discount on their sales and if u got close to them they would immediately surprise you and try to cut off your toes with their sword the fuck?
This run has it all I'd say, great runner.
Commentary, couch. Damn this is... SSS Rank
This couch and the runner, man I love them so much

Amazing run, you have to bring these guys back for sgdq!
This is probably my favorite agdq run of all time. Personally this game is one of the most nostalgic of my SNES days. Super good run (minus the 1 death) and of course the excellent commentary. EXEMPLARY!
Oh man, this was just great. I don't care if it's not a perfect run, they just have too much damn fun.
Dat Keanu Reeves voice for Aladdin at the end.
the ending voice overs had me in tears XD

loved this game as a kid!
I beat this game on the snes as a kid, so much nostalgia!
That end was just too funny omfg
HAHAHA i cant stop staring at the neck of the snake either now
I don't get speed runs in general, but this is exhilarating to watch. 😊👍
This game is tough, but a great classic.
The end was easily the best part :'D
all i can think of when he's in the auto scroller, "all this for a loaf of bread?"
These guys were so funny
The end had me stitches!
This was fun!
Genie, Jafar, Aladdin, Abu. The password to my favorite level!
Ah. The game I put at least 50 hours into as a kid but never actually beat because of the dang lava wave level.
someone tell gavin and meg.
They'll love to see new strats.
If they ever reboot this film, I vote for Keanu Reeves to play Aladdin. WHOA
Well then x)
Lul
And Genie as Will Smith would be terrific!
I missed this live man, fucking hilarious
O love how most of the popular games in speed running have a broken mechanic :p
Nice SR!
LOL the ending was the best!
these guys are freakin hilarious =)

The three dudes are really fun.
You make oyunger me jealous this took me forever to beat
Definitely started to say "Sound like you smoked all your weed" @ 7:09 lol
2:44 Start
I only beat this game as a child because I happen to enter the right password randomly for the final stage lol Screw that lava stage
i so hope they return next year, don´t care if they play Aladdin again. This is simply a couch having a time of their life!. Funniest and best guys ever at AGDQ!. xD "Wow, does that feel good?" xD
That ending commentary had me WEAK!!! lol
22:50 and Genie started to channel Djafar and turned into a psychopathic supermonster... the end!
Does this combo of guys have any other runs??
I didn't know Keeanu Reeves voiced Aladdin in this game
have these dudes do another !
Ending was hilarious lololololol
Imagen the "wow" of alladin replaced with the "wow" of keanu reeves in Matrix
*WOAH!*
GENIE JAFAR ALADDIN ABU
Ohhhhhhhh wow my childhood
whoa
This is one of the only games I preferred the Genesis version of. They actually look and play remarkably different.
+ValensBellator I never can tell if people are saying that seriously. I didn't play the genesis version until way after the SNES version, but when I did I thought it was pretty bad in contrast. Always thought the genesis version of this game was better.
+Guitarhero1000
That's because it was, speaking as someone who purchased both as an adult.

I remember playin a fuckin alladdin game for 2 minutes
the enemies in that game did a "come hither" gesture with their fingers like their about to show you a discount on their sales
