Mind blowing from someone who doesn't follow DKC speedrunning. I remember doing that first wrong warp from world 1 to 3 as a kid and having absolutely no idea what I had done. Never understood until (partially) now.
I read about that warp online. I was always confused and wondered why it sent you to the middle of a level instead of the start Didn't realize until a speedrunner explained that it was unintentional.

I played DKC in the Blockbuster World Video Game Championship. I got like second or third in the SoCal region, but a kid I knew won state for Judge Dredd on the Genesis that year.
DKC continues to be my favorite series to watch speedrun. But why is RBO 100% a category?!?! Do any other series have that lol? I wonder what the next DKC speedrun at GDQ will be
K Rool can only be fought after beating world 6, and also is the only way to trigger the end of the game, so we still fight him last. This is pretty normal for a lot of games' RBO categories
