From SDA's Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ 2013) a charity speed run marathon which aimed to raise money for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The marathon was a MASSIVE success, with donations reaching $448,423.27.

Released in March 2010, Mega Man 10 is Capcom's ode to people who felt that they had not gotten enough Mega Man. Instead of placing Mega Man in versus fighters or creating weird 3d platformers, you get to enjoy 2d platformers you may or may not have grown up with! My favourite bit of the runs is hearing comments, would've been nice if the donation guy let him speak for more than 2 seconds

I like these old runs where you can see the hands of the players and see just how fast their hands are moving when they play, not to mention the mashing if they have to fire a weapon of some variety.
Announcer guy sure likes the sound of his own voice.
Is it me or does duck fist always get shitty announcers? They always speak over him and don't give him enough screen time. Then, they keep talking even near time.

They should REALLY have just a text banderoll with the donations and announcements... those announcements are extremely annoying, constantly outvoice everything else

***** Yeah, he seems like he doesn't actually care about the messages people write, just their money. I've heard that people hate Uyama but I was never sure why, thanks for clearing that up. The other announcers are a lot more compassionate and entertaining, but I would still prefer if they just did a text scroll with donations and left the runner/couch free to describe the run. At GDQs the announcers have a tendency to say something like, "I'm going to try to squeeze one or two donations in really quick," then proceed to take up the next 15 min. I get that it's about charity, but it still seems really disrespectful to the runners.
***** Nice. I think I won't be able to resist searching 8chan and reddit now. It is awesome how close most the runners seem. It's a shame that the event is suspect, because we gamers need as much positive publicity as possible. Since "Gamergate" (man, I hate that term) I've seen so many websites and commenters decry that all gamers are hateful, violent, and/or sexist. They miss the irony that in trying to call gamers prejudiced or violent, they are actually being prejudiced by stereotyping a diverse group of individuals. smh

That announcer was really annoying in this run. It's a shame. it was a good run but unwatchable because i think he felt like it was his show instead of Duckfist. When someone says it's serious time, it's not time for you to do donations.

Dude, what is up with the commentators making their monologues more important than the games played or the commentary by the runners. Seriously if people are just donating to get their message read, that kind of undercuts the point. This isn't TRL.
I hope that guy never does commentary again. Watching a speedrun on mute just isn't as fun.

Question. Why is Mega Man used over Bass? I'm assuming it's because he's the default character. I can't think of any other reason then maybe it's too easy or boring to watch. Because I'm pretty sure that Bass is just about flat out better then Mega Man in like every way and can go through stages much faster. Yeah it's most likely because Mega is default.

There is no spoonerism, because "dist" doesn't mean anything. If it was "duckfis" you could say he's going for "f*** dis" but what does "f*** dist" mean? Absolutely nothing.

If you would read between the lines you would understand that this game (on hard) is definetely the hardest in the classic series.

And I would agree. This game on *normal* difficulty is harder than MM2 on hard mode... I'd say MM2 is, by far, the easiest in the (original) series.

I just have started playing this for the first time on the MM legacy collection release, and I cant tell you how many times I've died. I do appreciate how easy they make it look, and I like the pointers with weapons selections. But man it's frustrating to struggle as much as I have, while he breezes through it in less than 36 minutes, without a single death.
