Exactly what I've been thinking. Commentating while speedrunning is hard as hell, so I really appreciated Mr. K's commentary in this video as well as the Contra one.

Same trouble with the bubbles as you had too, and I never switched away from flame except in level two. Contra 3 alien wars though....... Shit that was my jam
They've been reading a lot, they have a lot to get through (so they have to read quickly and without rehearsal), they have to read it during relative downtime, AND they're reading to a massive online audience, WAY harder than it looks... Er, sounds.
Snes can have more sprites at once then nes its more powerful hardware but if the sprites are using 16 bit color thats a lot more demanding then 8 bit nes.
No. No Super Contra is not a "very different game". The stages are laid out almost exactly the same. If you're good at one you'll be good at the other. The arcade handles slightly differently.. more bullet angles, but other than that it is the same game. You could run the games side by side just fine.

I think the player wearing Snake's bandana after dying it pink, that's why he never ran out of ammo and didn't need to reload.

Contra games really should have increased bosses hp like at least 3x amount, they can't even show full of their mechanics before dying.
You can fight them with the default gun if you'd prefer to keep them alive longer.
