    ▬ A NOTE ON USING LED LIGHTS AS HALOGEN BULB REPLACEMENTS ▬
    Aim your headlights AT LEAST once a year and ALWAYS after replacing the bulbs.
    If the cutoff is bad or you can’t aim them accurately or the light output scatters, it is NOT safe to use. Try a different style of LED or one with a lower output that will be more compatible with your light housing. See my other videos for more reviews.
    When I use the word “headlights”, I am referring to legal off-road use or fog light use only as replacing factory halogen bulbs with LEDs for headlights in the US is not currently legal nor a DOT approved practice. I've been using Fahren led lights for about 5 years now and I have personally never had a failure. Some Chrysler products have a headlamp feature that disables the head light or causes a flicker because of the low amperage and to fix that Fahren recommended me to install Xprite Antiflicker resistors and that fixed my issues. The setup in my 2013 Dodge has been working flawlessly since 2019 with the Fahren bulbs and Xprite resistors. I've since installed Fahren bulbs in a 2013 Fiat 500, 2006 Jeep Liberty, 2006 Jeep Commander, 2001 Dodge Neon and have not had any issues yet! I recommend anyone looking for a headlight upgrade to LED's to use Fahren.
    Yes they only come in 6500K but that's the brightest light color you would want for night driving. All the other colors at night are for just show as they don't help night vision. The Yellow bulb color, I think 3500-4000K is good for foggy weather or snow storms but those are typically used for fog lights and Fahren does not offer anything but 6500K.

    THOROUGHLY impressed that you used a calibrated IR imaging thermal camera to measure temps of LED and driver. With good parts + QA upfront, that's what's likely to limit lifetime (I'm a former LED R&D Engineer). I note that the Fahren's warranty is only *one year* whereas there are other, more expensive brands that are guaranteed FOR LIFE. So if you don't enjoy tearing your car apart to change bulbs . . . FWIW, I've already had several cheap automotive LED products fail on me BUT, like Charlie Brown charging the football that he knows Lucy will pull away, I'm about to install THIS headlight in my 2017 WRX because one I got from "Headlight Experts" online failed after about three years.

    Hello, and nice work on the reviews. I have a question on my 2014 Honda Accord high beam/drl (Fahren Forscher 9005 bulb). High beam works fine and drl worked for a few minutes once installed, now does not. Specs state DC9v-32v. Can’t figure out why drl (lower voltage) would not work. I do not want to have them on high beam all the time (seems that is what happens when adding resistors/relays), but I would like them working as drls . Any input in absolutely appreciated.

    Jason, thanks for all your hard work and dedication with both your channels. Your videos have always been extremely helpful. I am struggling between getting the Auxito Y13 or the GTR Ultra 2. • @CarLightReviews

    • @roheat_
      @roheat_ 2 года назад

      @@CarLightReviews random question but to add on a bit, would you say the Auxito Y13 and Fahren are equal? The Auxito for example lists higher wattage and lumen then the Fahren, but not sure if that means it’s more “better” and “brighter”. Or are they really that close where you can go with whatever between the two?

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  2 года назад

      @@roheat_ That's hard to answer because it depends on the definition of better. The published specs show one thing, but the actual output shows another, and it all depends on where you put the priority of what you need out of an LED upgrade. It might be easier for you to decide if you look at the spreadsheet that update with each video: carlightreviews.com/headlightspecs

    • @roheat_
      @roheat_ 2 года назад

      @@CarLightReviews Thank you for the response! Quick question when comparing numbers on the spreadsheet: if the main goal is to find headlight that is bright (as in, you can see far down the road), would the lux numbers be the best measure for this? For example, the Fahren has 1472 lux versus the 1053 lux from the Auxito Y13, making the Fahren higher in lux. Would it therefore make it fair to say the Fahren is more brighter then the Auxito Y13? The temperature control seems to also give the edge to the Fahren but it is close. I appreciate all the details you put into these tests!

    • @CarLightReviews
      @CarLightReviews  2 года назад +1

      @@roheat_ Yup! The lux numbers are the measurement of brightness. But there's a tradeoff...the brighter the light, the better the heat management needs to be to keep that light output from reducing in a short amount of time. There's a lot of junk lights out there that are super bright...at first...because they are overdriven beyond the intended capabilities of the components, the heat takes a toll and the brightness diminishes quickly (sometimes lower than halogen) and the longevity is reduced.
      This is why I do the tests that I do...to separate the facts from the lies. Look at the light output over time as well as the temperature....they are the two key indicators of what light is best for you.

Low beam is high and high beam is low not not that big of a deal except for can't run your fog/driving light with high beams on. Haven't heard anyone else to these issues. I did install led switchback turn signals. No matter what settings I changed in the computer, I constantly had a light out indicator. Finally took out the led turn signals and put regular ones back in.

And sometimes drive two opposite lanes keep flashlight on me too. People think my led light bulbs think it’s high beams. I’m very upset because I don’t want bother them or keep flashlights on me. Can you confirm that when you say "four feet horizontal" that you mean "four feet high off the ground"? If that is the case, that is likely the problem. When shining on a wall 25 feet away, you want the cutoff line to be a couple of inches lower than the same height of the bulb in your headlight assembly. I've had my other ones for 2 years, and one side of the bulb was starting to go out. So got some new ones. I also drive with my lights on, old habit. Plus I detail my engine bay a lot. So for the price you can't beat 'em. I'm sure if I had shut them off during the day, and minimized water on the whatever it's called the little ballast thing they would still be going strong.
