    Came across your video by trying to better understand the Nordic context on racism being a region that I respect on professional and political levels. Nevertheless, felt really understood and encouraged by your verbal processing. My identity as a black woman has been a process, but not everyone understands that. Looking forward to subscribing and hearing more enriched content. Thanks for being brave and sharing!!

    I really like and appreciate the things you said, and I think it is something we could all learn from. We should each become the voice we yearn to hear. Our yearning is a gift of sorts, because it is effective at pinpointing exactly what needs to be said or done, and someone without that yearning is never going to be able to say or do it justly.

    I'm so glad I came across this video! I'm 19 years old and recently moved to northern Norway(studies) from Namibia and it has been overwhelming to see how the life back home is completely different from here. I am having a hard time adapting as I'm scared that I might be losing my cultural knowledge and when I hold on to that I feel like I'm not learning new stuff around me. I''m just so confused and yet its awesome to be out here with the hope of bringing great stuff back home, and empowering others!

      Hey you, don´t worry, you will find your balance -at the end, you will most likely be influenced a little by both places and that is also okay :) it will open your mind and let you see yourself and your culture differently :)

    That's pretty dope to see you talking about your experiences over here as black person. I'm an American that has been living over here for almost 20 years. I rarely have opportunities to talk about black issues with anyone because of the settings that I meet other black people are usually work related. However if I see a black person passing me by, I may throw a black fist in the air. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what kind of African you are. At the end of the day, we all black. There needs to be places black people can meet and build here in Denmark. There needs to be more unity with black people here as well. We all black! we all blessed. Lovely video. Take care.

      @@BarrySlisk nope. If that's your truth, that's your truth. Secondly, I wasn't even talking to you. White people aren't in the same predicament as black people. The fact that I even have to explain anything to you about why black people throw a fist up shows, your lack of education. If you didn't understand why I said that, then you could have asked. Thirdly, in order for me to be racist, implies that I have some sort of power to perpetuate my racist agenda. Whites have historically been racist and have had the power to enforce it. I don't have the power to enforce anything, so I cannot be racist. Also there's nothing wrong at all with racial pride. If you look at any western or any country where Caucasians are the majority, you see racial pride just by the dynamic of television and the history books, why? Because of racial pride. Don't play with me.

      Not at all. Racism is just a way of thinking. Thinking requires no power.

    Yes, we ARE everywhere. There are black folks in countries like Greece and China, definitely two countries one tends to not associate with people of African descent. As the 21 century unfolds the world will see us come forward from every corner and contribute mightily to this great, human journey on the planet we call Earth.

    • @user-sm3xq5ob5d
      @user-sm3xq5ob5d 3 года назад +2

      I never exspect to contribute mightily wherever I would go. That's just a compensation for accepting other peoples judgement as more valuable than your own. Like kids say: One day I will be strong and powerful and then the world shall see!" Not a good starting point. People are people regardless of skin color of eye shape. There are good ones and bad ones in every corner of the world. The culture is of more influence than genetical disposition. My thinking.

    Loved this! I also have these kind of thought and question about literally everything in life so I’m kinda excited to binge watch your channel. About identity it’s so right, I’m a Nigerian in the UK and I don’t have the ‘black brit’ experience due to my circumstances here but at the same time I don’t have the ‘international student’ experience so I understand not fitting in, never really understood my place and could fully relate to other but you’re right in needing to creating our own space and not needing to choose 🙌🏾 are you a Gemini btw?

      People have to cleanse themselves of racist concepts that have been taught through indoctrination. The pseudo-science of race was created and taught under the guise of racist thought. Most of the world has been affected by this dysfunctional thinking and behavior through systems of social control. It was created by egotistical people who did not have a real identity. They also did not have a spiritual culture. Spirituality is innate in every soul and tells us that there is just on family... the human family. Egotism started in force when a person placed himself at the center of the Universe mentally, and sought to construct a world that revolves around him that he could understand, manipulate and control. Just like religion. Things were made up and forced in innocent indigenous people worldwide. None of it has a basis in fact. Dump it from your conciousness.

    You certainly are a true Dane! ... and I am glad that we have people like you here, mixing the best from your original cultures with your lovely way of being Danish, clearly shown by your lovely self in this video.
    Of course some obstacles have possibly met you. Like your name when seeking like job etc, - that's by no means racism in my view, but pure laziness (easier with an old fashioned Danish name). My two youngest (now 20 an 21 mixed with an Afro-Cuban mom) will possibly say the same as you do, but in reality no bother ;-) ) (By the way they grew up in a small village in Sjælland as only colored here ..., as mentioned below)
