James Last was a genius musician. A mastermind - like a wizard made musical reconstructions with the bands. The instrumental arrangement productions and multi-colored melodies played by the Orchestra are eternally remembered master pieces. El Maestro James Last y su Gran Orquesta interpretan un potpourri de varias polkas populares alemanas, con el toque saltarín y picaresco de estos temas de la cultura musical teutona, aprovechando todo el talento y creatividad de los músicos bajo su experta dirección. Y al final de este maravilloso mosaico interpretaron "Games That Lovers Play" compuesta por él mismo, como un remanso de paz después de la alegría.

Such fun. The orchestra looked like they enjoyed playing and the fans certainly enjoyed dancing & singing. I wish I'd gone to one of his concerts!

昔の ロイヤル アルバート ホール での、ライブLPもってます。最後に ハッピーハート～恋のゲーム（今、最後に流れた曲）と演奏して、「ウイ カムバック ネクストイヤー」と叫び、拍手の渦。懐かしいですね。

This is so interesting. I know a large number of these songs and remember hearing them on the radio when I was young.. This guy has been a major influence on both American and European music. It is interesting to stumble upon such a major influence.

Detlef Surmann (trombone)is the only musician that is still there since the early days of James Last orchestra (middle of the sixties). From start the orchestra was manned by german studio musicians. As they gained international popularity the orchestra has been manned with top musicians from more than 15 countries (!). In 2009 they will make a european tour. That might be the last (!) opportunity to see James Last orchestra performing, as he will have his 80:th (!) birthday in 17 april 2009.
I like it when Derek watkins puts the circus bit in and the horse naying with the trumpet although he wasnt playing here but his partner Bocoasins was

He left the orchestra, along with several other of the "old guard," just before the tour of China back in 2002. Stephen (Stoppel) Eggert is the new drummer.

Der Meister und sein Orchester unübertroffen es ist schade und traurig dass es so eine Musik nicht mehr gibt.James Last und seine große musikalische Familie ein musikalischer Hochgenuss eine Freude für die Ohren und ein Herz mit Verstand für sehr gute Musik danke

Was würde ich drum geben, bei dem Konzert dabei gewesen zu sein. Es geht nichts über Big-Band-Sound. James Last, Glenn Miller und, wer's etwas moderner und Rock'n Roll und Boogie etwas härter mag, Brian Setzer. Findet Ihr alles hier. Ich verbringe halbe Nächte hier am PC und genieße richtig diese Musik. Komisch, kommt nur mir das so vor: Höre gerne Charts pp., aber bin der Meinung, daß diese Sachen dagegen richtig flach sind. Ok, alles zu seiner Zeit. Aber Qualität setzt sich immer durch.

Respekt vor jeder Art von Musik. Aber: Jedes Lied im Big Band Sound reißt einen doch vom Hocker. Mir läufts da bei jedem Song eiskalt den Rücken runter. Lieb Rapper und Konsorten: Macht Eure Songs doch mal mit James Last. Erfolg ist Euch und J.L. gewiss.
