  • These walnuts lids have quickly become the best-selling item in my Etsy shop. They are designed to fit 1-liter Weck jars although I have customized them dozens of times for customers looking for custom jars.
These lids are a super easy woodturning project that takes me less than 15 minutes from start to finish.

Cut a shallow groove on the sides that are inserted and get an "O"-Ring to fit........now it's water tight :)

Hay dude I am a home distiller and me and a few other people can't afford oak barrels so we have been thinking about making oak lids for mason jars, they would have to fit inside the jars a bit and be chared on the inside peace.we would leave it on its side to get the same airflow effects as a barrel..... anyway was just thinking it's a awesome idea seen heaps of people thinking about it ,so if someone got into it and had the right marketing they could make alot of money.
If you're in the states you could send a few sample ones to channels like stilln the clear, stillin old-school, and Manny more ,you could say it's a pore man's barrel getting the word out .

Our local lumberyard. I use 4/4 boards to make the lids.
