Chris Thile is the definition of a true virtuoso. I have had the pleasure of seeing him perform solo and with Nickel Creek many times. The depth and intricacy of his music is art.
@@romeohio19 first off jazz is king. i dont know what to tell ya kid Bach is THE man. chris thile would agree 100% his discography and "live from here" etc. reflects this. your mandolin is pretty good keep practicing!
Just watched a few vids of Chris from when he was aged 13-14, and I can honestly say he's one of America's most versatile virtuoso. He plays now with so much joy. All styles, all gigs.
Saw Chris Thile with Punch Brothers at the Fayetteville Folk Festival, and it was an extraordinary exhibition of virtuosity and story telling. Absolutely wonderful!
His music is always so great to listen to. I went to highschool with his brother Daniel who started his own band, Bantha Tracks, during college. Both very talented artists!
Chris has the best energy! His positivity and all around badassness is refreshing, i love it!! Been a phan for like 20 years, how time flies. Love ya Chris❤
Josh Newell the sound engineer gets the kudos from me. There seems to be no background noise for the Bach, and that's the best here. Love the arrangement.
Really? I thought chris was just a tiny little bit too quiet

They still say that perfection doesn't exist... I think Chris Thile and Julian Lage will always be an extraordinary duo... Here's the idea for a new musical meeting between the two. 😀
Don't give that man any more wine! See, he's already broken the headstock of that vintage mandolin. However, thank You to everybody involved for 19 minutes of musical bliss.
As long as he uses his "tool" like this, I don't mind if it misses some more wood (and the wine didn't hurt his lucidity or creativity so "carry on mr. Thile")
Toda, toda la producción musical de Chris Thile es maravillosa e impecable. El escenario, en esta ocasión resulta muy apropiado: los álamos temblones de Colorado son muy hermosos.
Only a musical genius can play with world class classical musicians without needing to reading Bach as they do. Then the next day play with world class bluegrass musicians at the top of their game. 👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼
Good grief, he just really is the best mandolinist in the world, the best that has ever been, and likely will never be matched. No one comes anywhere close.
Wow, the entire ensemble is brilliant and sounds flawless. Thank you for producing this! Who is the lead violinist?? Loved Chris' solo piece - which inspired me to stop watching and go practice!! Ttfn
Mandolin. That's one of his two 1924 Gibson Lloyd Loar F-5 mandolins. Probably worth $300,000 or so, or at least it was before he busted the scroll on the headstock.
Wine is the best collaboration humans and nature have had? Did you forget about a little plant known as CANNABIS sir? Doesn't even need to be processed to the same extent as alcohol to be enjoyed. :)

when he plays Bach absolutely the pop folk not so much!

You can't go wrong with Chris Thile. From bluegrass to classical, he has the magic touch.
i was hoping for more Bach!

Chris on the mandolin taking the role of the harpsichord/pianoforte (sort of) is great. It fits perfectly
Energy unmatched, captivating smile. Rarely see someone enjoy their craft this much.
You can see, feel, and hear the joy and ecstasy in his playing. This is pure passion and love.
I love how Chris Thile plays Bach like he's in a rock band .
passion!
*Bach band :)
Chris Thile never ceases to amaze me
Bring Back Live From Here!
I second this! 🙆🏼♀️🙏

Amen. My favorite NPR show.
His music is always so great to listen to. I went to highschool with his brother Daniel who started his own band, Bantha Tracks, during college. Both very talented artists!

C'est une chance que des musiciens comme lui existent pour nous guider vers l'excellence et motiver notre créativité.
Absolutely the most enjoyable music I have listened to in a long while.......thank you
Great job! Amazing performance and I love the choice of repertoire. Love how the mandolin's attack suits bach's music.
The run and section starting at 12:13 and onward is absurdly virtuosic. Also. Engineer needs a raise. Sounds great
I really enjoyed when Punch Brothers would do classical with the banjo. It highlighted the depth and range of the instruments and the artists!
What an awesome concert ♥️
aaaah Bach music, always a fresh bath for the soul
95% of me: Enjoying this amazing performance.
5% of me: “Oh gosh, I hope the humidity level isn't too bad for the mando"

cannabis and Bach are a perfect match! forget alcohol.
As long as he uses his "tool" like this, I don't mind if it misses some more wood (and the wine didn't hurt his lucidity or creativity so "carry on mr. Thile")
I miss Live From Here so much. Covid ruined so many things, and LFH is the top of my list.
I wish they'd reboot it. But apparently everyone 's moved on.
we’re so bach
how dare you use Bach in your pun sir!
This is gold!! 😍😍
Beautiful sound and setting
Love Chris Thile!!!!

Dude would be the most popular bard in the king's court... wars would be fought to have him.
Love this dude.
Not my kinda music, but i respect it.
He wrote this song about wine. 👋👏
Good grief, he just really is the best mandolinist in the world, the best that has ever been, and likely will never be matched. No one comes anywhere close.
I wish I did anything as well as Thile plays music.
Phenomenal!

Little known fact: Thile chooses all of his backing musicians based on hotness.
DEVIL'S SWEAT‼🤤🤤🤤
👍👍👍
😊 ✨
🎉❤️💕🎉
What happened to Chris' mandolin? Looks like Bill Monroe's Lloyd Loar at times with scroll broken 😅
That guys soloing made me think about how much i overlook TS in classical
Not to be morbid, but Chris is one of those musicians who's death I'll be inconsolable over
♥
Afrer glancing at the description I was expecting a drummer 😅
Merci d'avoir invité Augustin Trapenard 🫶

Saxsquatch next NPR?
Is that a mandolin or mandola?
