It is the correct explanation. On my right side, at one point, close to L2/ L3, discs appiers terrible pain, and the right leg up on the chair helps in reducing pain.

Hello Will, and thank you. Another extremely useful video. I wonder, why my own doctor never told me about this. Yesterday afternoon I was cutting vegetables for maybe 40 minutes and my back tried to kill me. Some days are better, some worse. My pain seems to be somewhere in the middle of my lower back. I feel that I can rather quickly feel much better if I lie down and lift my legs up leaning against a wall. Even 5 minutes and once get get up and walk, I feel 90 % better. There just are not all over moments or places one can lie down, so at least in the kitchen I shall remember your advice. The surgeon, who operated on my lower back after 2 cyclists threw me onto the ground, suggested that there is nothing wrong anymore, I just have " sleepy" buttocks muscles that need stretching. I ought to hold on to something firm ( a door handle or even the back side of a heavy chair ), then slowly let my backside down until my buttocks touch my heels, and then stand up again. First holding something for support, later not holding, just with my arms hanging. I actually managed to do it once in his office. He pulled a chair out of my reach and I had to press my teeth together and do it. I wonder if you ever offer this exercise to anyone? Take care.

Thank you Will for another video bringing us real help....I have one of those kiddie steps I bought from the supermarket....If you have kitchen cupboards near where you work, you can open the door and rest a foot in there if possible ( might need to move some stuff!)😃

Many thanks for another great video Will. Maybe this might help my husband with the severe pain he has due to Stenosis and Protruding Discs on L1 & L2. I hope I’ll soon be able to let you know that it was successful, but much appreciated anyway.

So I have to take a step with me wherever I go? 😭 I'm only 44 and have this problem. I can't even stand long enough to brush my teeth without pain from standing.

The trouble is you’re not usually standing still for long. If your knee is bent you won’t be able to stand close enough to your work surface. I would have to reach forward, and with standing tasks like ironing you are constantly shifting your weight. Your tips are usually very practical but I feel this one isn’t. I get back pain from compression fractures.

Sort out your nasty character. I didn’t even notice the sniff. I presume he has a slight cold, but was kind enough to film anyway.
