I’m still wondering how he got the ball end of the string through the tailpiece, truly the king
There are bridges machined to accept the ball end then slide up into locked position . its still odd he does it that way and a bit late to ask him. RIP BB. Thankfully I got the chance to see him.
I can't tell in this video, but I've seen his signatures that came with a Gibson TP-6 tailpiece. Its the tailpiece that has fine tuners, and the string hook allows you to do this. It's a genius tailpiece, imo.
@@c.f.pedraza4057 Aria guitars had a tailpiece likely made by Goto but i'm not certain that had that ability to slide the ball end in without having to send the string through first.
@@skxj yeah, it doesn't look that way. I saw it a few more times, and its rather baffling actually. Lmfao
BB King used the TP6 tailpiece with fine tuners. The ball end just drops into a slot from above.

As a huge fan of B.B. King, he uses the whole string. I’ve seen B.B. live a couple dozen times over the years. Yes, I’ve witnessed him changing strings like this in the middle of a performance without missing a beat. How many other guitarists can do this. None!

My father took me to see BB King at the West Palm Beach Auditorium in 1980 I was 10, he was a guitar player and a blues lover I’ll never forget waking up at 7 or 8 years old to the great Taj Mahal’s voice singing the lyrics “ Throw your big leg over me mama I might not feel this good again “ and wondering why would he want her to do that? Never thought all these years later at 51 I would understand those words the way I do now, lol.
The truth sets us free.. isn’t it something when you get ? Some haven’t figured it out yet.they have the blues..💃🏼🤷🏼♂️

Saw him play at Jones Beach LI . late 90’s. One of my favorites even as a kid in Jr high.
There is a video of SRV continuing his epic solo with a broken string. Then in his first line of lyrics he switches guitar, and continues his solo. You could not tell just by listening. Genius.

Now who else but B.B. King could re-string his ax and sing the blues like that at the same damn time?!! The man played like a gladiator!! When I was still in high school here in Vegas, my friends and I got to visit with B.B. and his son at his house. He used to own a home in a neighborhood here called Rancho Circle. He was such a pleasant man, very nice and humble. R.I.P. Blues King.

Never seen a guitar player do that before.
Hendrix would constantly have get his guitar back in tune while singing, but not even Jimi ever attempted to replace a broken string while still singing.
BB shows why he's the most natural bluesman ever with just this alone.

King is one of the guitar players that has surprised me the most, and made me get interested in blues, although I’ve listen to some dudes like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King, B.B. still is my fav when it comes to blues
