- Sanya Richards-Ross is a highly accomplished athlete who expressed frustration with the unbreakable nature of current women's sprint world records. However, this mindset doesn't necessarily help break records. The 400 meters record could be broken with smarter race pacing and not going all-out in the first 50 meters. Salwa Eid Nasser demonstrated this approach in 2019, producing the third-fastest time in history.
Holy shit. Felix ran her first 50m in her 400m quicker than a 200m. Good lord.
I think people heavily underestimate good paving. Reynolds ran a fast second half end route to 43.29 and I think has the fastest last 100m in history and it's still the 3rd best performance ever.
When women master the first 50 meters, we will see the world record move under 47
@@TheWayToWinplease talk about marita koch.
@@SuperMfrancis what exactly do you want to know about her?
One HALF second slower in the first 50m is considered race pacing???
great analysis, and a total surprise - Felix ran the first 50 faster than Reynolds - hopefully they all get to see this (send it out to the coaches? or would they know this?)
Thank you for watching!
Were it noy for thr ban, i believe Salwa would have dropped the WR already

@@BattShytKuhraezy Whereabouts failure. No positive test. Read her court papers and stop being lazy.
almost all wonens world records are 90% of mens which gives a time of 47.3. 800m has the largest variance from this. It is about 88%
Sub-48 is inevitable, don't know about sub 47 though. They've been stuck between 48-49s for 40 years no matter what the racing tactics are. Given the difference between males and females appears to be around 5 seconds consistently, that would suggest males can run sub-42s. That seems wild given the diminishing returns we see now with hardly any men running even sub 43.5s currently.
Great analysis. It's not surprising that the newest batch of 400m women who are putting together such amazing times, such as Britton Wilson, Femke Bol, et. al. aren't particularly fast starters.
Thanks for watching!
Syd the Great will break it, perhaps because she's not the fastest starter. Neither is Britton Wilson, who will likely be chasing that WR as well. Bol perhaps too.
Woman will!
Salwa was on them special pancakes, tho. Haha
In all seriousness, I think Syd has the talent and discipline to do what needs to be done. Probably not breaking 47, but I could definitely see her cracking 48 in Budapest.
